WOS was playing some freshmen in the second half along with some new guys to their respective positions. A great team works on their weakness and uses predistrict games to get better. That’s what they did on O in the second half. They knew BC could barely get a first down much less score so why keep your heavy hitters in the game when you know you have it won? Let the youngsters get some experience and also experiment with different personnel.

My main point is yes, WOS May be a little down at the moment but the season is still early. What some are forgetting is just how dang good Newton is this year. I would be willing to bet that is the last time Newton scores 21 points all year. This Newton team is on par with 2016 WOS....just a once in a generation type team....an L hurts but it wasn’t like WOS was beat by an inferior team. Hell, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Newton could run rough shot through 4A also! As I always do, I’ll be rooting for the Eagles to bring some more hardware back to SETX (ok, extreme North SETX) lol.

Mark my words, Newton will run through 3A this season like a warm fist through a wet paper bag!

I don’t see that being an issue as both teams had to deal with it. Newton was just the better team........tonight.

After that, I still believe Newton and WOS are the best 2 teams in SETX. Yes, WOS lost to Nederland but they never count lol!

WOS will be fine. Next week another crazy test against Crosby. One thing is for sure is the young Mustangs will be well tested come district time!!
