  1. The late hit on the Fair catch, was intially called but was determined that the player was blocked into the receiver. Which he was, but I thought it was a good no call.
  2. I'm sorry No, I'm sorry...that was uncalled for the other night. I apologize to all the PNG fans for what happened out there Saturday night. Here we invited you into our house and just beat you like red-headed step children. I hope you all come back in a couple years!
  3. Please explain to me what you mean by Vidor "plays all their games at home" this year. Vidor Pirates Aug. 29 Beaumont Kelly Sept. 5 Houston St. Thomas Sept. 12 @ Hardin-Jefferson Sept. 19 OPEN Sept. 26 @ Beaumont Central* Oct. 3 Lumberton* Oct. 10 @ Beaumont Ozen* (Babe Zaharias Stadium) Oct. 17 Port Neches-Groves* Oct. 24 @ Little Cypress-Mauriceville* Oct. 31 Nederland* Nov. 7 @ Livingston* Maybe you meant that the tougher games are home games. BTW, they did lose one of those home games. Central game was played in Vidor and LCM and Livingston are what I call Glorified Practices. You could probably throw Ozen in there too, since they usually only play about a half until they quit and call it a night. Im not doggin' Vidor, Im just saying Vidor is tough @ home and most of their games are there this year.
  4. Vidor is going to be a tough team for anybody to beat and since they play all their games at home this year, they are going to be really tough. Vidor has alot of heart and will not give up and that is what makes them a tough out. I think Lumberton and Vidor will battle it out for the last play-off spot the rest of the season and one of these teams will need to beat somebody they are not suppose to beat or I see (dare I say it) coin flip for the 4th spot. Having said that, Lumberton is going to have to play a great game to beat the Jags. If (and they may already have) the Jags get confidence they can win this District... Look out, it could be along night for whoever has to play them.
  5. Actually, it went to 4th down and PNG punted. They never ran an offensive play in that series after the call. I lost a down there somewhere during all that. Neumann was on the field because I believe a player made the call of which penalty to accept and thus the confusion. I may be wrong. Anyway, like you said, it may have affected that series, but not the outcome of the game. Should have been PNG ball, 3rd and 20 (or whatever half the distance would have given you plus loss of down). No, they ran another play, it was pass down the sideline that almost got intercepted. My memory is terrible. That's what I remember though. I'll have to watch the game again Tuesday night. DVR it and you can watch it all year long baby!

  7. yeah, I think everybody got it wrong including the announcer. At worst it should have been 2nd down and long. It was unfortunate you were screwed out of a down, but it would not have changed much.
  8. I have to disagree badndn about your philosophy when you have a bad defense. I think that is when you most want to control the ball on offense and not take chances and waiste downs on deep balls. Your trying to keep your defense off the field and not get into shoot-outs, right? The offense did complete some nice passes when you had the oppertunity to have balance playcalling, but penalties and too many negative plays kept them in obvious passing downs. Something I think that is funny is that how last year PNG fans defended Burnett when he won the Coach of the year (though Crueder should of won I thought), and now after 1 loss this season, he makes too many mistakes and doesnt open the field enough, eventhough he tried to last year and was getting blown out.
  9. I am kind of in the same situation... I graduated from Lumberton and eventhough our history is not that impressive, I love my school. But, now I live in Nederland (5 years) and soon my kids will start going to Nederland schools and when that happens I will be a #1 Bulldog fan. I will still root for Lumberton and want to see them do well, but I will not pull for them against my kids, even if they do not play sports.
  10. Nederland played a great "Team" game. Asa only had a couple of catches, but had a bunch of nice blocks down field and a key one that allowed #5 (Jude) to get free on the 75 yard touchdown. Grogan not only ran well, but was picking up blocks for Kirby all night. Again a key block on the blitz for Jude's 2nd Touchdown. Awsome play calling on the part of Nederlands coaches, both offense and defense. Defense did a good job for the most part of not allowing PNG's running backs to get outside and get big yards. Alot of people will bring up the muffed punt, but there was plenty of time to overcome that mistake, PNG just was outmatched on all fronts last night.
  11. good enough...good luck this weekend
  12. 26-14...Hardly a blow-out
  13. Someone has had a little too much to drink...haha Really? Then make it PNG 42 Ned 14 Why not just make 100-14... I know you guys just beat the almighty LC-M Bears but, just relax. I am sure it will be a close game just like the last 4 or 5 games have been.
  14. Someone has had a little too much to drink...haha
  15. Wow, that ONE playoff appearance in your history is really going to your head. Imagine that, a PNG fan hating on Lumberton. I hope you feel better about yourself! For someone who has a long history of success, you sure do not act like you have been there before.
  16. Let me ask this question... If you had a Son or Daughter Senior Athlete, would you want your kid to be able to participate in Athletics at another school?
  17. While you were at it why not sub out Jasper, WOS and WB for BCP, French & Forrest Park? There not in my top 5, but if I were able to do a honorable mention list it would Include: Newton, Kountze and based on recent history (2007)... Lumberton. What a club they have up there in the woods!!
  18. I think this is a very Interesting topic. What are some of your thoughts?
  19. 1. Hebert 2. West Brook 3. West Orange- Stark 4. South Park 5. Jasper
  20. Yeah, I guess Waller was scared to play Big Ned!! Nederland was looking forward to playing them again this year.
  21. The Houston Chronicle website has stats there. I believe the website is www.chron.com. Check it out.
  22. What do you think Central is? Man you guys are out of site! Lumberton has to beat a 4A opponebt before I give them props. Ozen has to win a game before they cross my mind. So right now I see this. WHo has seen Livingston? Right now this is how I see it since Ned can't stop the run!... Central PNG Vidor NED Barbers Hill is 4A
  23. Yeah, I know. Dayton may have played the game of their lives and kept it to 14.
  24. So the question is what pays off better ,playing top notch quality opponents or playing weaker teams and building confidence??? I will let you decide. This is same question that is asked every year and you can argue it either way. Last year Lumberton played a "weak" non-district schedule and went on to a co-district championship. Ozen always plays tough non-district games and has not made the play-offs since whenever. I see no real benefit from playing tough opponents other than bragging rights and confidence (assuming you win). I am not saying I don't encourage teams to play tough games, I am just saying I see no "real" advantage. Having said that, Nederland really needs to step up this week and show me something or it is a 4th place finish for me. I think it would look like this: 1.PN-G 2.Central 3.Lumberton 4.Livingston/Nederland/Ozen If Nederland plays well aginst Waller and Friendswood, I could move them all the way up to the top of my pre-district rankings.
  25. LMAO ;D ;D ;D I know, right? WB would beat any team in the area including Dayton by 14 points at least.
