4. Just read on ESPN that Bo Polini hasnt yet decided on who is to start this week against Baylor.  There is some indication that Freshmen Cody Green will most likely get the nod over Zach Lee.   Here is a link to another story: ]
5. Look, I love Lumberton and support them with all my heart, but that doesnt mean I cant speak what I am seeing.  Great programs do not rebuild they reload, and I thought we have done a great job of that, but somewhere along the way we started putting the ball on the ground and we started losing games.  Im not talking about just the PNG game.  Would it have made a difference or not though, who knows for sure.  If we protect the football, we win games period.
6.
Well, Coach Creduer is as good as Lumberton is going to get. The school board WILL NOT go out and get a big name coach like PNG did. Most of the Lumberton fans are supporting the raiders because of the success of the 07 & 08 teams. To build a solid fan base and establish tradition you have to support this coaching staff and these kids through the down years. In the 2nd qtr against PNG I counted 5 sophomores on defense. PNG is huge, we looked like a JV team compared to their size. Coach Creduer is whats best for Lumberton football. We got beat Friday night by a senior laden, well coached, well disciplined, athletic, huge team. Please support these guys. I was ashamed to see the fans disappear from the stands Friday night. If you are going to come on here and talk smack when things are going good, Have the dignity and respect of your team to defend and support them when things are not good. When I say support and defend I do not mean make excuses because we got beat. If you want to go back and relive the previous 40 years of futility, Friday night was a start in that direction. Realize that we are the smallest school in the district and next to Livingston, probably the most resource challenged school in the district when it comes to athletics. However, when we have the talent Coach Creduer will make us competitive.
That is the point of my post.  We are obviously a competitive team now or else with those amount of turnovers we would have gotten blown out all four games.  I understand that we are the smallest team in the district, but I wont make those excuses.  That has nothing to do with what Im saying.  We are young and Im sure that contributes alot to the understanding of how important ball protection is, but that point should have been driven home after the Central game.  This isnt a talent problem, we gave games away this season because we didnt protect the football.
7. 15 turnovers to 3 takeaways the last four games.  We should feel real good about ourselves for giving three of those games away.  Lost by 3 to Vidor, 7 to Central and 5 to Ozen before the bubble burst and got hung by 27 to PNG.  Granted 10, i mean 10 of those fumbles were in two games, but how is this still a problem.  Of all the things Coach has gotten right since he has been here, he LITERALY dropped the ball on this one.  I guess he didnt want to stand out.  Its one thing to get beat, its another to give your season away.  Ok, that was my session and I had to get that off my chest.  Heres to finishing the season on a high note and wining the last two games.  Cmon Raiders!!!!
8. His knee is fine. No issues at all since surgery. He did tweak his ankle though in first quarter against Hamshire Fannett. High ankle...He did ok against BH. Had 8 tackles, 2 Tackles for loss and 1 defended pass. Not bad for playing in pain with limited mobility. He'll be fine. He'll have bye week coming up to get ready for district. Thats good to hear. Havent made it to a game yet this season, but cant wait to see him play again.
9. Any word on Beard? I heard his name wasnt mentioned much and was just curious if he is 100% healthy? I wasnt at the game and did not get to listen, so was just wondering how he looked?

12. What??? No Dayton vs Lumberton??? C'mon... even scrimmages count in the standings! I hope they can start to schedule this game on a regular basis when we are not in the same district because I think it could be a really good rivalry for both teams.

14. He already has some nice offers, but I hope he comes back full strength and gets some big time offers! xcited for him and his family this year.
15. Dont know if it is a UIL rule or District rule, but I would allow Head-to-Head matchups to decide District Championships when applicable.
16. I have been mostley a lurker on this thread, just reading peoples opinions for both sides of the issue. I am amazed at some of the things that have been suggested and the direction that this topic has turned to. To suggest that we pay our teachers "Less" to help the budget for repairs is crazy to me! Nobody deserves to make less because the "Tax Payers" do not want to pay for the repairs, upgrades, etc. I understand that the budget has not bben properly regulated in the past and I believe that we are all at least a little responsible for that either directly or in-directly. My question is this: Where are we going to get the money for reairs, new schools, and upgrades if Tax Payers do not pay for it? Refineries are no longer in Nederland; Our Hospital closed, Businesses have moved across the street and new ones are built on the other side of Hwy 69, so where is the money going to come from? The school system is all that Nederland has left. If the school system begins to fail and people begin to move out of Nederland, this could have some dramatic effects to the community. When I got married, my wife would not live anywhere except Nederland. She is from here and was adamant about living here, saying how great a community it was, and how great the schools are for our kids (who we now have 4 & 1), so there was no other place we were going to live. When she said this weekend that she saw a house in Lumberton that she liked, to say that I was surprised would be a huge understatement. Because that is where I am from, of course it made me happy, but it was bittersweet. I have lived in Nederland for six years now and have grown to really like it. I hope Nederland will do the right thing soon and if you think of it as waiste, at least we are waisting it on our kids and the future of our community.
17. I heard he might not be the starter for Ned next year. I hear possible move to WR in his future.
18. Two Words: Garrett and Hypolyte
19. Doesnt look like Texas will be recruiting Johnson at QB... Looks like C. Wood of Houston Baptist is going to commit to Texas. That gives them 2 for 2010 class. If he is a legit playmaker...Im thinking probably WR.
20. Heard he got invited to Texas 's 2nd junior day on the 28th. Also, heard he may receive an offer on that visit as an ATH. Anybody close to the situation know whats going on and can confirm his intentions? Add Earl Hines to that list too. Can anyone confirm?
21. PAM is getting a new coach ??? Havent heard anything or seen anything about that.
22. : OMG, that is the funniest thing I've heard in years! Big L wins a couple of games and they act like they've got the tradition of PNG. What a joke! who said anything about having the tradition of PNG???? All he said is that L-Town has some good talent coming up as well and our team is also looking strong the next few years. I would also call back-to-back district titles a little more than a couple games. For a team draped in as much tradition as PNG, i wouldnt have thought you would be so easily rattled.
23. Looks more and more like the job is Longs.
