Does that mean if PNG Doesnt get Stump then no one will show up to the games? I feel sorry for whoever your coach is going to be. He is not going to be given a "Fair" chance because of you guys that have this man-festation for Stump. I am all for you guys getting excited about a particular coach, but he hasnt even applied. If this was who the board really wanted, then why have coaches apply at all. At least let Stump turn the Job down and then have applicants apply. Instead you have Coaches apply and have them travel for interviews, but you want to hire someone that didnt apply? It doesnt make sense to me, but then again I never understood the obsession PNG has with itself anyway. First of all, only a couple of people on here are getting THAT excited about Stump as you say. Each of the applicants come with thier on credentials that should be given a 'fair' shot at the job. Could be Garrett, Faircloth, Danaher, who knows.....BUT one thing for sure.....THE STANDS WILL BE PACKED WITH THE FAITHFUL THAT BLEED PURPLE AND WHITE....THAT....YOU CAN TAKE TO THE BANK! I knew where the game was being played! Maybe Big Ned will let you little Indians hang in there until the 4th quarter this year. I felt sorry for you guys last year when ya'll were leaving the stadium in the 3rd quarter.

I know Lumberton has had its fair share of coaches in the last 15 years. Dont know for sure how many but I would put the O/U at 5.

K... GG is pretty good.. Great even. I just don't see how you can judge him better than Rollison. Or Rollison better than Gilbert for that matter. You have been proven wrong. time to move on. You lost all credibility with me when you said he plays in SETX. Anyway, Gatorade seems to think GG is pretty good, since he is their National Player of the year this year.

Tyrik averages 287 ypg, has 4300 yds passing on the year with 47 TD's & 15 INTs// Add to this hes rushed for 960 yds and 11 TD... On a team with a 2000 yrd rusher... WOW! You might be a little premature (probably a common problem for you) to say Gilbert is hands down the best HS QB in the country. Tyrik Rollison has a little something to say about that on Saturday. They're both great QBs and any college should be excited about either. Every ranking service out there has Gilbert rated higher so I guess none of them know either. Answer me this, how will the game tommorow change anything? If Rollison torches Dayton what does that change? I didnt dog Rollison, I said hes a heck of a player but hes not Garret Gilbert...and most if not all the real "experts" agree. What is premature about this comparrison? The season only has 1 game left and you saying that its premature? GG is about to win back-to-back state titles and has accounted for 72 TD's this season. TR has game, but GG is another step above.

Why was Dugats name in bold but not Cody Green's? I guess Green just lives in Dugats shadow at Dayton. Hanna led the district in rushing and also led his team to co-district champs. Grogan should be the better college player based on ability, but Hanna had the better season this year. Centrals coach needs to get the word out about how good his players are. I guess he just wants all the credit for himself.

I cant help but think the next coach is going to be on a year-by-year leash and be expected to win immediately. I have heard many supporters say that MB out stayed his welcome a few years ago, but that was not what I saw up until this last year. I heard rumblings at the beginning of the season last year, but when the wins started adding up, all that quited down and he was the best coach again. This year, the team never recovered, and he had to go. Why would expectations of a new coach change in the eyes of PNG supporters?

I bring this question up because me and some co-workers (PNG Homers) dis-agree about the new coach and meeting expectations. I can see a scenario play-out where the new head coach wont even really get a "fair" chance to succeed. I believe most PNG supporters have such high expectations that if the new coach does not win immediately, that most will regret the new hire and call for him to be fired. Especially, since it appears it will be somebody out of this area that most will not know to begin with. Thoughts?

I agree with your post. just curious.... You didn't go to the Lumberton game?? I thought you were a raider fan. I'm a Raider fan Blue and through! Graduated from there in '97. I live in Nederland (where my wife is from) and the family wanted to see the Bulldogs. So, I support the Dogs as well. But, I got it wrong. I made her make an agreement with me: Ok, we will go to the Bulldogs game this week and the Lumberton game next week. Talk about OUCH!!!

I appreciate it. I'm just alittle bitter about the loss tonight and felt like being picky. But really, I hope Nederland goes deep this year.

That was a great game tonight. There were times at the end that I thought you were trying to give it away, but the defense stepped up big time on the 2-pt. conversion and causing the fumble after King recovered the onside kick. Some things I took away from the game: 1) Grogan is the best player in the district (100 yard kick return for TD and a 96 yard TD run) 2)#40 (sorry I dont know his name) stepped up BIG time and played great when Grogan couldnt go 3) The Back-up QB showed great poise when he led the team down on the 90 yard drive to take the lead in the 4th Quarter. I do have one complaint though. I know the emotions of football and fans can spill over to the next week, but that was pretty low to cheer when the announcer reported scores of the Lumberton game. As much as I would like to say that it was just a few fans that jeered, it was way more than that. District is over and we are all in these play-offs together. Good Luck the rest of the play-offs!

My understanding is..... In the eyes of the UIL, the "official" title will be District CO-Champions with Livingston BUT In the eyes of football fans everywhere, it is understood Lumberton is the sole district champ since its owns the head to head with Livingston. UIL only uses head to head match ups for playoff tie breakers and playoff seedings. My eyes dont see it this way but whatever floats your boat. Of Course You dont... but thats ok, but I bet you will find more fans who say Lumberton "Should" be District Champs because they won the head-to-head game. I see you are still bitter about this season and wish you all the luck next year. Its all about the U, Glad to see #49 is going to be good for next year. You and Your family I know are very proud of him to try and it give it a go despite all the pain he is going through. Wish you all the best and cant wait to see him cracking some heads next year.

Yeah, my only complaint was that Coach keeps letting Beard try to play. I know he wants to be out there more than anything, but it is sad to see him so disgusted when he tries to go and he cant. He needs to get his knee fixed. If it is as bad as everyone is saying, it could take him a year to fully recover. He needs to have surgery right away from the best doctors around.

I saw all the Dayton fans at the game and they were all high fiving each other after the game. One of them made a gesture like "We just got Lucky, I'm glad we dont have to play them next week!"

I'm pulling for Vidor, but I just dont see how they can get up for this game knowing they left it all out on the line against Nederland and just came up a bit short. Would love to see them rebound and take Livingston. I have been hearing that Vidor has alot of Heart and Pride...well, I cant think of a better time to prove it.
