This is going to be a great game. Two teams that play very similar styles. Both very well coached. Both have outstanding traditions of winning and both have great fan support. This should be a tremendous game to watch!!!! Godd luck to both programs.
Thanks Coach! -

I thought this was about CLEVLAND'S warmup game, not who is going to win out of them and HJ.
This game was a "perfect storm" Navasota had some quickness which limited a few things HJ has been able to do relatively easy. Decision making was poor at times for both teams.... The officials and the bookkeeper / clock keepers were the worst I have seen in a while. At one point in the 2nd quarter, I watched the bookkeeper erase a score, add a freethrow and mark a foul on a player just to make her book match the scoreboard... That being said, that is not what cost HJ the game... FT's, decisions, etc..... In the girls bracket, the #2 has had the better draw for the past 5 years...
The second seed played Madisonville last year in the 2nd round, they went to state. Year before the second seed played Rudder... -

Navasota was the third place team of their district, I don't think coming in second or first has a disadvantage...Navasota is just always good!! -

I think one of the biggest things that gets over looked here is knowing your players. Some may respond to a good butt chewing and others may react in an adversely to that method. You need to know your players on an individual basis. You can't treat each player the same in these regards.
Sondra Ancelot said the same thing. She knew who could take a butt chewing or who could not. But she also knew what parents would allow it and what parents would not. I do understand that theory but don't agree with it. Why can't you treat everyone the same? Someone Correct me if I am wrong but when Nathan Toon was at Orangefield he pretty much chewed on everybodies butt. Maybe it is different with boys.
He got on our butts, but he did it in a different way I think for each...He knew yelling and screaming at Calvin Granger would help his game, yet getting in...well I'll message you the rest. ;D

Hardin lost only one senior from last year. Woodville lost a lot. I think Hardin should win pretty easily. SFA who got beat by EC three times? Hardin is 2-1 againt EC this year.

I agree with Riding Solo about talking about the coach in front of their kids, if they love the game, they wouldn't only be playing when it's basketball season, shoot at home and try to get on a travel team to play more. Some coaches may not be the best, but they are far from the worst you could have!
Let me ask you guys a question. My son was a senior and he was a starter. He was not the leading scorer and really rarely shot. He did all the little things like pass the rock, steals and rebounded. He shot a ball against WOS and missed. The coach immediatly took him out and chewed him out. I was right there listening and the coach said "That is not your role, Do not shoot the ball" my son was pissed and so was I. But my son understood and so did I. I did not discuss it with my son or the coach. That year Orangefield went to the playoff's for the first time in 56 years and they set the record for most wins in a season. The young men on that team were very unselfish and knew their roles on the "TEAM". Thats why they won. My question is, how would you have reacted if a coach told your child that?
I think I remember that, because we all got the role speech at practice that SATURDAY because of that. >:(
