Kirbyville has been pretty impressive. Of course I'm a newton fan so my vote is secured, but i hope both teams play as good at their highest level so we'll all get our money's worth.

isn't mcfarland suppose to be the number one defensive recruit in the nation. i haven't seen him do a whole lot at the two games i've been to. maybe he's just getting triple teamed or something?

I don't know if anyone remembers, but there was this one play where Diboll's running back broke away from everyone for a pretty good run and Newton's #8 Mattox hawked him down. I haven't saw the roster but Mattox is pretty big boy, i'm guessing at least 230. Not taking anything away from Diboll's run cause it was good, but it stood out in my mind for a good sized D lineman out ran the running back.

If Newton countinues their track of improvement from last week, I say the win by at least a touchdown or two. However, they better be carefull because if they bring the same sloppyness as they did at the Corrigan game, Diboll will have their way with them.

I'm currently waiting on a reply from the AP regarding why Kville didn't beat out USC this week for the number one spot. Their number 1 in my heart so i guess thats all that matters.....Screw D1, the NFL commisioner should consider a 33rd team.....Did i mention that i wish i was born in kirbyville!....... Sir, Newton scored three touchdowns within the first few minutes of the game and beat Buna 55-8. That was with the 8th team in after the first quarter. Your team barely won by 1 point. No doubt EC was good the last two years sir, however not as good. If we polled this question, it would be the world population to you.............Sir, look at the 06 07 schedules please. Newton played all 3A schools the past two preseasons. Why would they step down to your level sir? Now that doesn't make sense...........If it makes you sleep better at night, then sure Newton was "scurred" of big bad EC with 0 state titles. And sure, EC would have beat Newton the past two years. your right i do have a little condition myself. my doc says its winningitis and as you guessed it being so successful over the years has caused it. its not contagious so dont worry.............well i understand your point of view. 50 years without a state title can be pretty rough. i'm sure you'll keep a little newspaper clipping """""if""""" you ever win another state championship..............incase i never got around to it, newton is a 2A school 15 miles east of jasper with just under 400 kids total. that has to be just like one class at nederland. sucks to get beat by those lil ol schools huh

I just figured that since you lived here your whole life, you must have been in a coma in 90 and 91 when Newton, that little ol' town you never heard of and assumed was six man, played your mighty bulldogs and taught them a little thing or ---> 13-6 and 42-20. And just incase you were in any other impaired mental states, I think I have some copies of the Beaumont Enterprise from '74 '98 '04 and '05 with Newton on the front cover playing in the "texas" state championship that your welcome to catch up on. I believe 2A won't be as strong this year as in the last realignment. Tatum, Farmsville, Mart, and Brookshire Royal are all gone. There are still going to be some tough teams, but this is kville's chance to "finally" win a championship. State that is, not district. Newton will be the number one seed out of 22. I dont think its that far out there to say you could see both state champions out of this district. That would be something.
