Boy it sure is alot more pleasant with the girls OF/HJ rivalry. That boys thread is a mess!!!

I think I am the only person to say a girl from another team should get the MVP over their own superstar. What little reasoning skills I have lead me to that decision.---Silsbee loves Ang--OF loves KK--HJ and myself loves KB--The reality is that not too many of us have seen the other girls play more than 2 or 3 times. That being the case how can we intelligently say one girl is a better player than the other 2 or made a bigger difference in their teams success. From watching 2 games???. All the girls played the game differently to ensure their team had the best chance to win. If they had to be a scorer, I'm sure they shot alot, and if they had a good supporting cast they could dish out more assist and weren't required to score as much, (with assist being equally important), the same with defense, etc. And to know all these things you needed to attend most of the games all three girls played. I doubt many of us did this. The only thing we know for sure is that OF won district. This is why I think KK has the edge on the other 2. Not saying she is the best player and not saying she isn't, remember I only saw her play one game. But she was the star of the district champs. And there is MVP value in that.

I totally agree with your commemt. I love them all. But if you look at what the letters mean in "MVP" for District, it represents the player that had the biggest impact on their team accomplishing their goals. And the highest goal for district is being district champs. Now if you have a well rounded team that wins district and no certain girl stood out and the second place team has a unique player that made them a second place team knowing they wouldn't have been near that high with her supporting cast then maybe she should win the MVP, but that is not the case this year. We are talking about 3 equally talented teams. Ang Green was good enough to help Silsbee take 3rd and KB was good enough to take HJ to 2nd. KK took her team to the district title and in my mind that is the difference. If HJ had won district I would give it to KB. And the same with Ang and Silsbee. Again, this is personal opinion. If KB was to win nobody would be happier than me. Good Luck to all 3. Great Job!!!

He will need to get his "basketball" legs back in shape. I would love to see him play a couple of quarters. Either way this one should be a 25+ HJ win.

I love KB also, great shooter and passes better than any high school girl I have ever seen, but usually the MVP title would go to the player that helps her team win district. Because of that I think KK should win. She is a great 3 point shooter and leader on the court. They all bring something different to the table that makes their teams as good as they are. Ang Green signed with Lamar so that tells you what college scouts think of her. I appreciate the skills of all 3 players. Great year with some really great players.

21-3A will be respresented very well in the playoffs!!! Good Luck to all the teams.

PoppaBearstarr ain't no rank amateur at the concession stand...Tommorrow night we may be pulling for our own teams but soon we will be pulling hard for each other. OF is the only team in our district I haven't seen play yet. Really looking forward to it. Good luck to both teams Tuesday and especially in the playoffs. Oh, I have to pick my Hawks to win: 61 to 60. Does anyone know what time the varsity game is scheduled to start?

It's not wanting Silsbee to lose (read my early post). It's about giving a prediction on a game without having to read meaningless, long, drawn out response from someone trying to give people a dictionary lesson. Up until that time things were good. Good Luck Silsbee--I'm outta here!!!

Although anything can happen on any given night I don't see Jasper beating Silsbee. There is a big gap in talent between the two teams.

O.K. I get it now. All I needed was for you to spell it out for me. I should have taken your wisdom from the beginning. My fault on that one. Now lets see if I got it! I'm a HJ fan, not Jasper. So your wrong on that!! Now, I saw HJ beat Silsbee at HJ by 18. Then Silsbee beats HJ at Silsbee by 2 and HJ had no Burrell. So, by your standards of predictions if HJ gets Burrell back there is no way a Silsbee fan could predict Silsbee to win against HJ on a neutral court. It would be predicting who you wanted to win and not who should win, Right? It would be considered a upset. And you already know the definition of UPSET.

O.K. I guess what we are saying is that teams do not get better as the year progresses. Right? If you are the favorite today then you should be the favorite the whole year. Is that what you are saying? All I know is Jasper played HJ at a level that I haven't seen from any team in our district this year. Now that being said, Silsbee does have the better overall team as I think HJ does too, but I have seen a side of Jasper that I did not know existed, although it was for only 1 game. The question is: Has the team improved or was it a one game wonder? Can they repeat this performance is the question. If they do Silsbee will be in trouble, especially playing in Jasper. If not, Silsbee wins hands down. That's what a predictions is; a persons's guess. How each individual justifies his predictions is his own business and doesn't need to be scholled on how to do it.

I think Jaspers transition game is too fast for OF. If OF could take them out of that it could be close.

I'm going to give a slight edge to Silsbee--78 to 75. If Jasper can repeat their HJ performance Silsbee will not like the outcome. Good Luck to both teams.

I've watched the HJ girls all season. They were very strong at the start of the season and then I noticed them hitting a low spot in the middle. The past few weeks they look strong again. Should be a good one.

We told each other after the first quarter Bailey couldn't keep that 3 point shot going. We soon realized we kept saying that after each quarter. But he did finally change, he just started shooting and making them from farther out. He didn't stop making them until the final buzzer. Your right setxslam, Silsbee better be ready to play!!!

If Jasper can duplicate what I saw them do tonight at HJ it could be a very interesting game. They do not resemble the same Jasper team I saw earlier in the year. They must have shot over 60% for the game. That includes 3's. Those types of games are hard to have back to back. But you never know!!!!! It should be fun to watch. Good Luck to both teams..

Great game for both teams. Bailey couldn't miss!! Man, what a performance!!! HJ fought back after each Jasper run. Real impressed with Jasper's team tonight. They didn't come to just play, they came to win. Congrats to the Hawks. Each player had his moments doing his part in the win tonight. Jarvis had some clutch shooting when we needed it. It took everything we had for this one. Great job both teams.

There are different ways to view this story. When Lumberton's subs aren't subs anymore and become starters this will help them. Every kid takes something with them from every game they play, win or lose. What may seem unsportsmanlike today could turn into a blessing for next year. Your second string playing Ozen's first string. Goods minutes for your second string and not much playing time for theirs. Sounds like a good scenerio for Lumberton. Hold your head up and keep playing hard!!!
