1.
Shack, did you not look at the list?  Washington (Silsbee) and Fontenot (HJ) were CO-MVPs of the district, Offensive MVP was Heard from WOS.  :D
Give me a break. I just wrote it wrong. I always know you will be there to correct me.  :D
2. Silsbee had Co Offensive Player of the year along with 2 First Team All District selections. Silsbee was a mostly Senior Class Team and came in 3rd in district. HJ had Co-Offensive Player of year and 1 First Team All District selection and HJ played as many as 4 soph's with no previous varsity experience most of their games and finished 10-0. I would think in any other district this would certainly warrant COY. I really think Coach Davis fell victim to HJ's past tradition of success.
3.
Be a good idea to just not publish All District teams. Most of the time it is a joke anyway. There are plenty of examples of this to share. nobody loses anymore. we cant hurt anybodys feelings. I advise when you see the movie Generation Zero at a local theater, go see it and you will know why we are the way we are.you will see where this trophy for everyone mentality comes from. There are winners and losers folks. Start being real with your kids and prepare them for the world. Look around at the world sometimes it is not too kind.....JMO Preparation is still the key to success.....
Wow, I don't know of any parent that had anything to do with the selection, so where did this come from. But I will take your advice. Tonight when my daughter gets home I'm going to spell out what the world is all about. I just never thought it would start with High School Basketball All District selections. Cool!!
4. Doesn't honorable mention mean you did recieve votes for all district and they are giving you recognition for recieving those votes? If that is true about honorable mention, and I don't know so I'm asking, what is the problem?
5. Rudder is a very solid team. They played great defense and controlled the tempo of the game from the start. HJ had plenty of opportunities to make the game more respectable but our shots were not falling tonight. Alot of that had to do with Rudder's pressure defense. The Lady Hawks didn't finish on a positive note tonight but they still had a terrific season. Congrats to Victoria and Paige. They were great leaders for the team and will be greatly missed. The foundation is there for the Hawks to continue to make additional playoff appearances and hopefully go further. Again, Congrats to HJ.
6.
Navasota / Cleveland is going to be the early game at Sam Houston.....
HJHawks, What time is the Navasota/Cleveland game set to start?
7.
They pay them extra... ::)
How ironic coming from a OF Fan. ;D ;D
8. I predicted a HJ win by 3, but they would have to make their freethrows and take care of the ball. Well, the first half they missed 10 freethrows and the 4th quarter they didn't take very good care of the ball. Still, all in all, they rebounded alot better than the first game and shot their freethrows better in the second half that carried them to the win. As for the Refs-it almost seemed like they wanted to make controversal calls. I guess to make sure everyone knew they were there. Well, it worked..Coaches, fans and players held their breathe everytime a whistle was blown not knowing what they were going to call next. Heck, if you were on the bench you weren't exempt from having a foul called on you..
9. I think HJ by 3. I predict they make free throws when they count and limit unforced turnovers like they had the first game.
10.
HJ and Rudder are both peaking at the right time. Maybe if OF wins we can play Madisonville there and have a double header!
That's a game plan!! :) :)
11.
Rudder is ranked #6 as of yesterday.
OK, since they are only ranked #6 then I say HJ by as many as they want. :) I really do believe that if HJ plays to their potential this could be a very enteresting game.
12. Hj will face Rudder Friday Night @ 8pm at Sam Houston University. Rudder has been ranked as high as #1 in the state this year and is currently ranked #7. Rudder is a 2nd year school located in Bryan. Also, Rudder play's in the same district as Navasota and Madisonville and both of these teams are ranked in the top 10 as well. This will be a tough game for the Hawks and I know they are looking forward to the challenge. The Hawks are very experienced in some areas and very young in others, but the younger girls have shown they can produce when called upon. Good Luck to the Lady Hawks.
13. I don't think Splendora can contain Ms. Washington. If the other Silsbee girls contribute like they are capable this could be good night for Silsbee. Good Luck Tigers.
14.

The guy sitting on the edge of the EC bench they announced the other night has won over 800 games was it? Also hold more than one state 2A record. I wouldn't be too over confident Woodville, this EC team is good and has an excellent well respected coach as well.
I wasn't downing coach Penny,he does a great job.I was responding to the Woodville guy who said the Lady Eagles would not be good next year. The Woodville coach will have them playing well.I can't believe there are still folks who don't think coaches make a difference.
It's usually the coach's in the stands that don't think the coach's on the floor make a difference. ;D
15. I agree with Coach Davis as well. HJ lost so much from last year and it seemed they were going to be down this year. She utilized everything she had to the max. HJ's Coach Fogo has to be assistant coach of the year (if there is such a thing). Very knowledgeable and the girls really respond to him. I do appreciate what Coach Sanders from Silsbee accomplished but the real story of the year was HJ's Davis.
16.
any word on whether the suspended player played last night???
The Bmt.Enterprise writes she was kicked off the team.
17. The first game Hj played Silsbee sounded alot like the OF/Silsbee game. Silsbee was very good jumping the passing lanes. I would bet HJ had at least 30 Turnovers that 1st game. Some of the girls under estimated Silsbee's quickness and jumping ability and I think we won that game by 4. Silsbee may not be the best overall offensive team in the district but they do find ways to give themselves the opportunity to win. The second game HJ paid better attention to their passing and the turnovers went way down and because of that they had a double digit win. Also, Ms. Washington was a big factor both of our games with Silsbee as well.
18. HJ 55 HF 37
19. I haven't heard if HJ will have a warm up game. I hope so as well. I'm sure the coach will tell them something soon if they do.
20. Ms. Washington would be a good choice.
21.
HJ over Orangefield I think by 5, can't remember the exact score.
Liar!! :)  48-43
22. Congrats Lady Tigers. Nice Job.
