  1. Just too defensive....Something is up at PNG....
  2. Man, what an ego. : Like I said, if it was Kountze, or WO-S, or Vidor, or LC-M, I would be all over them too.
  3. I did a little research and academic concerns always will outweigh any other activities. So, if they want to tie playing ball, or NHS, or drama to passing TAKS, they can. I don't agree with it, but it can be done.
  4. The kid did try to speak but wasn't able to due to the boards rules. He signed up to speak about the TAKS but meant to sign up to speak about the buses. We already had our allotted number of speakers about the buses. So he wasn't allowed to speak about the buses but would have been allowed to speak about the TAKS issue. Sometimes when a kid tries to speak, it makes the board madder than normal. Don't ask me why, but it does. School business is strange. I wouldn't even say they were mad about it. They may not show it, and can't, but behind closed doors is another story...
  5. I wonder how much money there would be in a jump from Kirbyville to LCM?
  6. \ Yes, I Get it, you want to skirt the law. If it was a physics teacher list, PNG would turn it over in a heart-beat. I got hired at PNG this year and nobody filed an FOI for the list of applicants for my position or my salary. Would you like for me to do it? I can find out stuff that you probably don't want me to know....Just like you could find out about me...

  8. Then he better be right about it. Sad story. Very sad.
  9. KDO, who are these coaches that you speak of (the one bad year out of 4)? I think we are well aware of the district. Don't expect to win district every year, just to be competitive. I'm just using theory. No actual people. A coach can go one year 7-3 then 1-9 the next year and they are gone....
  10. Even if that is the number it is such a small portion of a 23 million dollar budget. 0.069%....if my math is right.... Actually it's .0069% to put this in perspective this is what one percent looks like .01 or 1% of 23 million is $230,000. I see where I didn't move a zero. It still is tiny, either way....

  12. Just curious, but do some of you experts on the district know the real reason why they are getting rid of extra curricular transportation? I have seen school districts spend money on really goofy stuff, but if all kids athletes, NHS, band, UIL Academic kids could use this bus system, it makes good sense. Trust me, in 3-4 months, WO-S ISD will blow some money on some stuff that you look at and say, "Why do we need that?"
  13. The President of the school board has 1 vote - He / She is not just a tie breaker. (Sometimes the Mayor of a city votes only to break a tie, but this is school district - not a city) Are you sure? The president of our Lions Club doesn't even vote unless there is a tie. I'm not saying you are wrong. I just wont to be sure you are right. I think I will google Roberts Rules of Order. If you are sure though let me know. Generally in school board votes, all 7 members vote. I hope you are right. Most ( all that I know of) have it that all 7 vote. WO-S may have a different rule, but I doubt it.
  14. I'm not sure. It's not a huge room but there were people standing and people outside of the room. Did they allow speakers? If so, did they ( the board ) pay attention, or did they look down at their papers, or around the room?

  16. Are you running? Do you have a good candidate?
  17. Being a conspiracy nut anyway, will the 3 who voted to keep the buses come up for re-election sooner than the other members?
  18. And they didn't show......What's the scoop OLGabe????? ???
  19. What a mess in WOS....
  20. Very confusing.... so do we keep the buses running or not? No! You surpised? How many patrons turned out? What was said in the meeting?
  21. I am confused, does this mean they have done away with after school transportation? ( For extra curricular? )
  22. No because the Valley and El Paso would then raise cane. Leave it in Austin.
