That's a heck of a trip from El Paso, or Dalhart, or Rio Grande City. I would hate to know I would be on a school bus for that trip, and some of the poorer districts will send those "Yellow Dogs." I really feel sorry for some of the older coaches, teachers, band directors who would ride on the buses. They are pretty rough on those old bones and backs.

But is is hooked with the Head Football coach? ( And with most other schools, it is.).. I am not just talking about PNG here. I would guess it is for the pure purpose to be able to pay the head football coach more money. That is what I am thinking....One of these days a school district is going to get sued, and it is going to change everything... My wife is going to wring my neck, I'm late for church...

What purpose would this serve? Please answer me. It makes no sense.....is it so posters can get on here and trash candidates and PNG as well? It doesn't serve ANY PURPOSE to release the names. And again, the folks from other schools are more "up in arms" about this list than PNG folks. Are you afraid one of YOUR coaches may have applied? Do you have a dog in the fight? What gives......PNG fans are laughing at you guys for getting so upset about this. We're the ONLY ones that should want the list revealed and we're not balking the decision of the board. Go figure, getting the Attorney General involved, bringing up the FOI clause. You guys have waaaaaaayyyyy too much time on your hand to be worrying about this. This is ridiculous....I hope PNG NEVER releases the list, but only announce the coach they hired.......that way, the guy will have a fighting chance........this is ridiculous. I'm going to make a call to my contact in the CIA to find out who KDOS REALLY is!!!! ;D LOL...maybe he's an applicant and wants to see who the others are and evaluate his chances! : : : If I was hired you really would be in trouble. You do not "get it." Because the Law says you release the names. I really do not care. But you can't pick and chose what Laws you follow. What next? You just pick what laws you want to follow?

Not that it matters, PNG "faithful" would be ok. You see, over here in PNG land, we respect the decisions of the respective school administrations.....again, it seems that more people that DON'T have a "dog in this fight", are getting more upset than the folks at PNG. Why does the AD's job seem to be attached to the head football coaches job? Why can't the head volleyball coach, or softball coach be allowed to apply for the job? There are plenty of smart women's coaches out there that could do the job. It seems to be a form of discrimination? What is one of these school districts going to do when they wind up with a discrimination suit over this football/AD combo? And don't tell me it is not coming.... :-\

State for everything, needs to stay in Austin. Could you imagine a school from Amarillo having to go to say Brownsville for state solo and ensemble contest?

You must have a lot of free time to think these things up. PNG requiring a masters has nothing to do with Neumann having his masters. I believe more and more schools are now requiring it because the position has changed from just being a Head Coach to an AD as well. The AD is an administrative postition, thus, the candidate will be required to have his masters in order to meet the requirements. Of course, I feel you will spin this any way you wont, so probably no use in trying to explain it to you. It is not a bad thing, just Nederland did it first. Like Warrior touched on, the AD position is ALOT more than drawing the X's and O's. The position is ADMINISTRATIVE, including responsibility for the athletic budget for ALL sports. Also, If I'm not mistaken, ALL the coaches in ALL of the sports offered at the HS level ultimately report to the AD. Not minor resposnibilities by any stretch. Even as competitive as PNG and Nederland are, I really can't believe that PNG is looking for a candidate with a masters degree because "Nederland did it first". I am telling you, it is because Nederland's AD has one. I am convinced of that fact. There are still plenty of ADs without master's.

My Point Exactly.....

Been told for years there are "better people than me out there" from my constituents. Welcome to the world of public service. Public service? Everybody is a "public servant" aren't they? I mean if you really get down to it. What do you do for a living? Why is THAT important to you? Are you going to try and figure out who I am so you can get me fired? What if I was a PNG teacher? Would I be before the board on Monday?

Not 30-40 in a group yelling that...The other school's police escort had to put them on their buses and get them out there. These are not hoodlums. These are your everyday guys you see at the plants. Look I have family in PNG. My wife is from PNG. Now that she has moved out and looks back, she sees there is something wrong. Loyalty is good, but this blind loyalty, is spooky. I love my high school's team,and love it when they go to the playoffs, but I can't think of anyone in my town ever threatening bodily injury against a high school kid because they had won a game.

You PNG people are protesting too much. It gives an implication of you being up to something???? :-\ PNG is not up to anything. If the board is asked to release the names by "the Law", I'm sure they will. And, I'm sure the board are thinking of the applicants and their present positions at their respective schools and not wanting to create any hardship for them. "Typical" PNG, sounds like a little jealousy there...hmm.....go figure. Again, you tend to categorize ALL of PNG, fans, players, board, etc. in your comments. No one has control over this situation but the board....I still find it ironic, however, that the folks getting most upset about the list of names are not from PNG! I think there's a "fear" factor involved somewhere......maybe that PNG will rebound and be back at the top of the district. Who knows. I just think we need to wait, we ALL will find out soon enough. PNG loses the game and there are grown PNG men shouting at the visiting team that they are going to come to their town and " Whip their a@@@@." That's what I think of when I think of PNG. Grown men making threats against 16-18 year old kids because PNG had lost a game.

Too many of you PNG people are protecting what PNG's Board should have already done, which is release the names. It just looks underhanded when things are left in the dark. Look, once again, I am not thrilled about it either, but when you can file a petition and find out how many sick days I have used, (and they were mine to use.) PNG needs to step up and name the applicants. I am not a lawyer, but can the AG fine PNGISD for not releasing the names? Can the AG's Office start an investigation? Can charges be filed?

It is opinion, but it is correct....You might not like it, there is information available about me that's no one's business, that being said, if it is fair for me, it is fair for PNG....

It also was to keep crooks from going into the government business to start, and yes, schools where in their thinking when the law was written. I think you would be surprised at the people who care. It is probably more than you think. You can rest assure at the barber shops, the break rooms at work, the coffee shops it is a topic of conversation. Heck, I have been in Sunday School classes in which the main topic was the football program, not Paul's letter to Galatia that Sunday...
