Actually we play a smash mouth run team yearly in the form of Vidor and their Slot T, so I think our guys will be ready. -

LOL. I got to admit I really like us being on the other side of the "Oh well, we might as well not show up" statement. Looking forward to a good game. Probably will listen or watch from home. Trips are going to be few and far between for me unless I happen to wake up with a ton of energy. Go Raiders. -

There'll be plenty of chum in the water for sharks after this one. -
Raiders are doing as well as I expected. Our QB has a dang arm like a cannon especially considering he's a bit small as QB's go. Defense is stepping up and now they seem to be playing the whole game, domething that didn't happen the first game against HF although the Longhorns have gone on a tear since that game. I still expext us to take DC, our biggest roadblock could be the LCM Bears.

This one is going to be hard to call. Silsbere has the momentum but WOS is going to be coming into this game with a whole lot of desire. Those boys are not going to want to lose their first district game and pretty much hand the DC over to Silsbee. I think I'm going to take Silsbee to outlast them though. Don't think Hiawatha is going to be able to handle the pressure of this meeting. I also think this one will be much more exciting than MidCounty Madness this year.

St. Louis Saints vs Vidor Pirates

Actually, while I love ragging on Snuff Gully, I think of our schools as being a lot alike. Kind of vanilla when it comes to talent, we put together great teams occasionally but we don't have the feeder schools like the Jefferson County schools to keep a steady stream of Great talent coming through and we haven't been able to build the culture of a West Orange Stark whose beginning football camp is more like the Navy Seals to our US Air Force typing pool. We just have to find our way and brag loud when we come up with wins. πAnd in our case have a fan who'll drop a dime to the UIL when neededππ. LOL, sorry, had to take the shot. -

Texan live slacking on local broadcasts!
raideroldtimer replied to setxathlete14's topic in High School Football
Looking at those broadcast lists looks to me like they had us covered with the resources they have. I know I always want to see/hear Lumberton games but you have to remember Texas is a biiiig state, they can't be everywhere at once. -

You know I almost feel sorry for this crop of Peerats. I mean for the past 20 years their coach has been one of the more well respected coaches in the area and apparently LAST year playing checkers was enough to beat the rest of the district "Chess" players, one of y'alls words not mine. Now all of the sudden this coach couldn't beat himself out of a wet paper back with a GPS attacyhed to his hat and someone needs to throw a life ring to the team. Now don't get me wrong, I look forward to every year against them especially when we beat them like red headed step children but come on, give the boys a break. Instead of Vidor, turn your ire on Dallas.π Boy I'm getting to frickin' nice, what's wrong with me.π€ͺ -
Could be that he has alreeady eraned his Teachers' Retirement and his wife is just short of it and able to complete it where they are moving to. You know, just a plain old financial move. But I don't know at all.

While I obviously love seeing Lumberton ranked, is Class 4A Div 2 so powerful that Silsbee only cracks number 8? IMO they are the 2nd most powerful team in the area right behind PAM and possibly could be better. They should be at least midway up the top 10 rankings in their division.
