Depends if last weeks Raiders show up or tonights Raiders. They couldn't seem to get it together tonight, I kind of think they may have overlooked the Bucs. At least last week they played good even though they lost.

L-Town has definitely improved. The only reason for the loss Friday was the coach took a chance on a 2 point conversion instead of going for the tie. I'm glad he did, it showed he had balls and confidence in his boys. They kept REL on the ropes all night long. The Ganders two previous games one against a 6A team and the other against a 5A Div. 2 team who was in the playoffs last year were routs, 56-7 and 58-17, where Lumberton kept them from running away with the game.

As far as our sports teams go let's see, while it's true we haven't been in the playoffs much for football we have boys and girls soccer teams who are in the playoffs virtually annually. We've also got good basketball teams both boys and girls, our baseball/softball teams have made the playoffs many times. Our cheerleaders who if you watch them for any team are ectremely athletic not only won state but have placed in the top five nationally several times. Lumberton offers a well rounded curriculum for its' students who want to participate, hell even the band went to the state competition 2 years in a row, once as 5A once as 4A and continue to be one of the most excellent bands in the region. We've got every bit as much if not more to cheer about than Snuff Gulley has. As for as the topic at hand, Vidor may have a shot at district along with Huffman and I expect Lumberton to be in the mix when playoffs come after waatching the way those boys battled last Friday.

Oh, and as always, I'm going to take my Raiders for making the post season even this early.

Hate to be a language nazi but a PARODY district would be a bunch of joke teams like Stuffman, Snuff Gulley, Little Children Monsters, Chumperton (as someone likes to say), Losington and Spendmora. I think the word you want is PARITY which means more level or equal in skills. Just saying.
