actually Soulja, if last Friday's defense becomes the norm for LCM, they could easily be the toughest team you guys play in district.

One thing I'm happy about, even though we got pasted and of course you have one or two who are gonna say the officiating was bad or the other team payed dirty, which by the way I'm not saying either, at least no one has made the excuse that it's because we have several starters out. That excuse to me doesn't fly, especially considering we've had at least one or more starter out since game one, that just shows how well our whole team steps up win or lose. Raiders will come back and I still think we can make the post season, keep hammering at it boys.

The one thing I KNOW the Raiders are going to have to do to win this particular game is keep a lot of pressure on during the second half. The last two years, the Pirates didn't beat us until the second half. Shoot ear before last I coulda swore Vidor brought out a whole new football team in the second half, they just pasted us, last year was a little better but we still lost it in the 2nd half.

I realize this kid is from Ozen, Central and WB kids I'm sure do a better job as probably do most of the other Ozen kids.

Well, let's run it down for you then, first of all I realize none of the fans on the winning side would call it  an upset as I know they expected their team to win, that's what being a teams' fan is all about. But, Game one, Central-Ozen, Ozen was the favorite in this one as most people felt they did a better job against the two 5a's, Central blows them out.....good game Jags. Game two, Vidor-Nederland, did anyone not from Vidor pick the Pirates? They pulled out their belts and put a spankin' on the Dogs, good job Pirates, probably could be called the biggest upset of all. Finally, game three, Livingston-PNG at the Reservation no less, again the Lion faithful I'm sure had confidence in their team, who else in the area gave them this kind of credit? I personally kind of suspected they might could pull it off but to be honest I'd have laid my bet on PNG's tradition, this is the one that might could be discounted, especially if you were to ask someone from Livingston. Actually the Livingston-PNG game was more what I expected to see out of LCM-Lumberton, two scoring machines with not much defense, I mean who'd have thought listening to everyone talking about LCM's lack of defense that they would shut anyone down, I'm betting no other team makes that mistake now. Those boys put a hurting on Lumberton that's going to be hard to get over. The LCM defense last night could easily become the number one defense in the area and they may very well be the team that ends up on the top of this jumbled heap we call District 20-4a

I always looked at Livingston as the unknowns of this district and I figured something big was going to happen, maybe the PNG faithful will settle down now and realize they are really not the elite of this district that they felt they were. Good win Livingston but of course you drew a target on your backs last night, it's only gonna get tougher.  ;)

WOW, I can name 3 upsets of the night in district 20-4a although one of them could probably be discounted, I know the Lions expected they'd win.  ;)

Lumberton 21 Vidor 3.

First of all I like my crow in a gumbo with an ice cold miller lite. The score was about half way what I expected, problem was the Raiders didn't hold up their end thanks to one of the best defensive outputs I've seen in a while. That's right 20-4a, the Bears came out with a solid defense, all I can say about their secondary is that it's about average since their D-line and linebackers played in our backfield more than we did and wouldn't let us get too many good passes off. As far as the Bear offense, lol, I'd be surprised if they had 150 yards of passing (you know, the thing everyone was watching for), instead they ran right over our guys both inside and outside. The game was pretty well called with exceptions of one non(?) fumble and a late hit that could have gone either way since the player was already in mid jump when the other players was brought down out of bounds, I know that's a refs call though. The fumble that wasn't I don't think would have really changed the momentum since LCM had a great defensive scheme in place. All in all, the Bears are definitely gonna kick some butt this year and the Raiders, well I don't know if it was an off night or not, but it's time to tighten up guys and do exactly what you've been taught. I'd like to make a couple of suggestions for the website. 1. Move the Stadium Locations string to the Home page and permanently pin it to the top of the topics list. 2. Just update the weekly rankings instead of replacing the topic(this will also give us a history throughout the season). Also, disable the reply within the topic in order to keep the Thread at a minimum, instead encourage making a regular topic on this subject. 3. Permanently pin a Broadcast schedule with the links in there and change them accordingly. (This would be a lot easier than hunting for a particular link which of course falls throughout the day.) Anyone else have a suggestion?

It may actually be 8 but I couldn't find Nacogdoches' record from last year.[/b] So irregardless of what our opponents are doing so far this year you can't claim that we have "weak" schedules, based on what the coaches did scheduling our opponents based on last years records, while at the same time pointing out our own past performances. I realize with your teams' records, it makes you guys feel better to puff your chest out and say how bad our opponents are while claiming you are playing the best in the state but like alot of folks have pointed out, starting tonight, everyone is "0" fer.

Love the fact that it's usually an Indian or a Beaumont team fan that usually brings up our opponents records and last years records. The same fans whose teams  collectively are 3-6, but of course you guys played world class teams that you have no chance of beating at the end of the year either (thought I'd put that in before one of you talks about your opponents abilities).
