Frankly I don't blame Brenham for wanting to be included, this is the the best sports forum bar none in my opinion. Maybe it's time to start a HATXsports or HRTXsports, Houston Area or Houston Region board. I would suggest a region3sports but that would be way too big for navigational purposes unless it was done with subforums covering each area.

I wish I knew more about the other teams. It is early, but if they play all 48 hard every game, they should have a shot. Will know more about Livingston after this week and will gladly pass on any thoughts as I would like for Lumberton to come out on top of Livingston in district. Not that my thoughts will matter much, but it will be interesting to see what Livingston has. Best of luck on Lumberton making the playoffs!
Thanks from Lumberton!
One good thing, like it or not, Livingston is one team that Lumberton has few problems with. They are the only team we have a higher than .500 record against even including our losing seasons.

 6.
Got the Raiders big in this one. Asher is a bruiser, and Pace has picked up weight but didnt lose speed. Chuck seemed to have gained a little speed, ask the Jasper secondary...42-10 ltrain
Asher does seem to be a bit bigger than last year and did a great job last Friday. Ipreps has him at 169 yards for the game, impressive.

I dont have a prob with calling it "the Butch".  :D
Now I thought the consensus was to call it "Da Butch". ;)
 8. I'm gonna say sure Ozen we go to the playoffs, they're gonna want something to go watch when they don't have a basketball game.  :o ;D
 9.
A good man is a man when he is humble and honest. I appreciate the gumption you have to write this. Sometimes we state our opinions and thoughts, but in a way we didnt mean to be negative. Commend you on your honesty and integrity very much. We all say things without always saying them the way we mean them from time to time.
Oops, then don't look at my comments in the Nederland vs. GCM thread. LOL  ;D
 10.
GCMPATS don't you know that 20-4a plays football better than anyone in the state! All you have to do is listen to them. That is why it took L-town 35 years to make their first playoff appearance and GCM mad it in only their 2nd year. Maybe GCM shouldn't even show up. I am now glad GCM is the underdog in every game they play. Pressure is on every opponent to beat the doormat I guess. Both RBs are back and healthy this week. Go Pats!
First of all get it right, it took Lumberton 42 years to make our first playoff appearance, which is even more proof that 20-4a is tougher than 19-4a.
 11. Triple AMEN to that.
 12. Guys, I want to take this moment to personally apologize to Ryans Dad, unfortunately I let myself get pulled into an argument with WTB and I made the assumption that he was a family member of Ryan Hughes by the way he was speaking, he ISN'T, in that I was wrong. More importantly I implied that Ryans' dad was, in the words I said "I understand from others that his dad is pretty adamant that he played QB" if you know what I mean. THIS COMMENT WAS OUT OF LINE ON MY PART AND I HUMBLY APOLOGIZE. I have talked with him privately and both apologized to him and explained my position on his son, as I told him, I am a fan of his sons abilities and I think he understands what I originally meant when I said he ought play running back. As I stated earlier to WTB who was in full goading mode, by my saying OUGHT, that is meant as pure speculation, not armchair coaching. Mr, Hughes is actually a very nice, respectful guy, nothing like what I unfortunately and unjustly spouted off. I am actually a huge fan of Ryans' abilities and like I told his dad, I believe this will be his best year yet. Again Mr. Hughes, I'm sorry.
 13. LOL.tears are coming out of my eyes on this one........ROFLMAO!

Actually i've kept up with setxsports and know exactly what your talking about! I'm glad someone called you on it, they should have. ;)
Makes you wonder how old they are too, doesn't it? Oh wait, they agree with you so it's okay.  :D :D :D Welcome aboard, Johnny. Just remember: Longtime posters like RaiderOldTimer can already see through you. Others will too. Go ahead and have the last word. I'm through with you. Try focusing on football instead of me. RC out.
LOL, aren't you glad your initials are RC, my Dayton friends on here call me ROT..........lol
 15.
Remember all you outsiders---- your gonna eventually have to play here.  Take interstate 10 to Beaumont and look for the sign [move]EXIT HERE FOR YOUR BUTT WHOOPIN[/move]
LOL
 16.
Dont need Rookies in big games like this.
LOL, they stick them with experienced officials and another official critiques them just like the teams do their players. Where you don't want a rookie that's learning is when district rolls around and the games really count.
 17. Why is this thread pinned to the top?
 18.
I dont know what the kickers range is but judging what i saw the kicker is a nonfactor, if we dont find a secondary that can at least hold onto a receiver it is gonna be a long season for my ndns lol what i saw was absolutely pathetic. As for 10-0 well i dont care and think we all know they got the bighead, now that reality has bitten them in the --- well i bet practice wont be fun this  coming week. AS for plugging up the hole and covering jalai well one better think about nelson and gizzi they did show some sparks of being able to get open and find the right spot. It is the first week and we got a loss. no big deal it doesnt matter till district starts so unil then we have time to fill in the blanks and try to salvage our defense. Still dont understand why we didnt attempt to kick the fieldgoal but i know on fourth and one i think i run the sweep instead of the bull rush up the middle when there was 10 in the box. but no excuses a loss is a loss and we need to learn from it and go on about our business. But on a good note the offense in the first half did move the ball well, alot of dropped passes no excuses for that especially when you are 10 yards behind the secondary and the ball hits you right in the hand  and you coulda walked into the enzone and wrote a book. we need to do some soul searching but i must say even though we lost it still was a very interesting game to watch kudos to gp played one heck of a game. oh and btw i was at the memorial central game man that defense is for real great job memorial even though you have some horrible fans that are rude and obnoxious. It is amazing at some of the crap you catch when you wear a ball cap of your team that you support and some a$$%^&* runs his mouth because you are a visiting fan and he wants to make a scene, go figure. Centrals fans were a class act although they did give me some funny looks. lol they will get over it , no offense soulja  ;D
Yeah, I wonder if there's a defensive scheme with say three defensive linemen and 8 safeties....LOL
 19.
Ahh....jasper and livingston should be a good game for sure. I haven't heard much about them lions this year.
It'll be a chance for us to gauge how well we should do against those pesky Lions.
 20.
I wouldn't EVEN want to get started on penalties!!!!
Without really knowing what direction you were headed here I just want to point out that this is the Officials' pre-season too. Time for them to shake the dust off their rose colored glasses and all so if a ref makes a mistake now, cut them a little slack, they have rookies too.
 21. 20-4a goes for the shut out this year, at least in preseason.
 22. There were all kinds of upsets on our boards top ten.  ;)
 23.

Cutlass, you  have to be the worst fan any team can wish for. The "young" pirates just took the 2007 state champs to double overtime and you are complaining about the defense( 5 sophomores starting)!! Reading all your posts, you are the most negative fan I have ever seen. Do us true pirate fans a favor and pick another team to root for. Hopefully we won't see you at the next game!  P.S. - how would you know the o line was clicking if you weren't there?
Oh shut up. All I did was point out the truth: we have never been a score-for-score team. Sorry to break that to you. And why wouldn't you want us to put more focus on defense? Do you not think those sophomores can get better? If it was a scorefest, well, then they were not playing to full potential. Which is really the fault of the coaches. But hey, go right ahead and say I'm bashing the kids or whatever. Instead of me picking "another team to root for" why don't you "true pirate fans" learn how to take constructive criticism? As for the O-line, uh well, the score was a pretty good indication. Any other duh factors you want to bring up?  ::)
Wowee Rusted, looks like you got yourself a fan, I got one of those from Lumberton myself so I feel for you. I really shouldn't jump in to your guys little fray here but I just had to point one thing out to you Mr. Dock, it has to do with this particular statement: The "young" pirates just took the 2007 state champs to double overtime. If you think about it, the players who were on that 2007 state championship team are either two years or more into college OR they are already embarking on their life long chain and ball careers, so the "young Pirates", who did very well for themselves considering all the talk, were playing a team that most likely doesn't come close to resembling that 2007 team. I'm not saying they are worse or better, just that it's a comparison that is out of date. Most likely, any student who was in their school at the time would have been on the 8th or 9th grade team unless they were a phenom.
 24. Lumberton should jump up to number 4 or 5 this week, but of course Dayton and/or PNG will be ahead of most of the teams who won their games, sentimental favorites and all......
