I find it cute how you guys are saying how well we "hung tough" with Elkins...WE BEAT OURSELVES...3 lost fumbles, two of which were on sure TD drives...this was a 17-8 game that we lost... Our D put us in a position to deliver the win, had a few offensive opportunities gone the other way... Dayton lost, I accept that and know we'll emerge stronger, as we always do...but saying we "hung tough" or "need to know our competition better" or "it's a 5a team and they're always better than 4a" blah, blah  BS... that includes you panama jack... by listening to the game and reading the box score, there was no "hanging tough"...Dayton had the best possible game plan, but you can't account for 3 lost fumbles...you guys are just looking for a reason to criticize dayton, as you know we will be hammering your team later this season...
Mike, shhhh, don't say that too loud are you'll give your team the fumble bug, just look at Lumbertons' season last year, all butter fingers all the time. Daytons' game sounds to me like it was a real down in the trenches battle and to whoever asked in earlier post if the game was winnable, an 8 - 3 game is definitely winnable. Sounds like the Dayton defense is something for other teams to be worried about, we'll have to wait and see if the offense wakes up soon. Until then, all other area teams.......shhhhhh, let that dog, er I mean horse, sleep.  ;D

Those boys have something to prove now, namely that they aren't losers and from what I saw on TV the Brook didn't exactly dominate Ozen in spite of winning. Don't shoot the messenger, JMO.  ;) I think I'm going to give Central a 1 point edge on this one. Central 7 WB 6
Ease up guys, I know Coach Creduer wasn't punishing them, just kidding around. Coach C has way too much integrity for that, I mean how many times have you guys seen a coach go out on the field and send a player off for an unsportsmanlike penalty, I've never seen it. I even told a buddy of mine once we had 42 points that unless Jasper scored again the coach would start playing conservative ball because he doesn't run scores up on the opponents, of course surprisingly enough we had two series where we broke away and scored, but the plays themselves were grind it out type plays. Coach C in my opinion is the best and most classy coach Lumberton has ever had and, yes I'm showing favoritism, I believe he is currently the best coach in the area. Of course I know everyone on here is going to make a case for their coach and go ahead, but I think Lumberton is satisfied with who WE have.
 5.
Lumberton will win the state title
Don't think so small Gabe, L-Town is gonna win the BCS National Title this year............LMAO  ;D

Usually Coach Creduer has the QB kneel it out but not tonight, they called two running plays to run out the clock. Maybe he was thinking of punishing Jasper for that illegal block if we actually got through with the ball, who knows.....
so how bad was the hit? it the kid ok?
He was hurt pretty bad. I kept hearing he could be out for a couple weeks or the season
It was one of those hits that could have easily been a season ending one.
 7. Ok guys, now let's get this right. Da Butch is NOT a stadium, it is an EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT CENTER remember that, live it, love it.  ;D

 9. You gotta feel for our number 40, you can bet after that stupid unsportsmanlike penalty the coach will have him running wind sprints into his 2nd year of college. Way to put the hammer down Coach Creduer, not many other coaches will go all the way in the field and remove an offending player from the game. Jasper coaches, you need to have a talk with your player that made that illegal block, hopefully that boy your guy took out will be back in the game soon. Great game L-Town, slow start as usual but no stopping you once you're moving.
 10. Here's one for you guys, HC Haynes' son Kellen, just graduated and signed his first coaching contract, he'll be on the sidelines with his dad. Good Luck Coach K.
 11.
[IMG][Hidden Content]]
OP if this picture is looking from the field then the game clock is in the worst place possible. What happens when the time is ticking down and the QB is trying to get the play off, he may not even realize he only has a few seconds left. I'd say that placement was a huge blunder. Looking at it, the clock should be where it says BISD and the logo where the clock is.

 13. Great song, captures the feeling perfectly, in fact I think we should nominate this as the site official song.  ;D
 14.
Football season is back and every year there is some guy that dont have a clue just predicting that someone scores 50 on the Bronc's.. (not gonna happen). Yall keep those updates coming tonight because I am on the road and its killin' me not to be there when Elkins tries that first run play and Ripkowski makes the RB blow snot bubbles.. Get em Broncs p.s. I just flicked a booger on Hardcore's post, now I just realized its on my own computer.. I gotta get a paper towel
Come on now Backflipper, you know someone is gonna score 50 on the Broncs.....uuuuh when does basketball start anyway?  ;)

Don't get me wrong. I like the whistle but not every 5 seconds. Give it a rest from time to time!
You must not go to many games. The horn only goes off at the opening of the game. Touch downs. Field goals. Extra points. The start of the second half. Turn overs. Well Lumberton must have been some bad boys to be scoring points every 5 seconds along with turn overs to go in the mix. If you like the whistle then shut up sit down and enjoy a start of a great tradition.
Don't think the "shut up" was deserved buddy. And, I do take in a lot of games and I listen to everyone around me gripe about the whistle. It goes off at every first down, every time more than a few yards is gained and it's gotten annoying to a lot of "fans". If it were only on TD's, "BIG" plays, etc. I would welcome this "tradition" but if it's over-used it negates it's whole purpose!! Again, just made an observation and stated an opinion so I would appreciate it if you could keep the "shut-ups" to a minimum. Thanks!
Okay sorry for the shut up part. I hate when people complain about something that people work hard for to support the kids. I know the big horn on the field replaced all of the loud horns in the stands that did really bother people alot. The horn is being blown by kids out of the high school. They are told when to blow it and sometimes they may get a little "excited" sometimes. I believe that the horn makes up for the people that don't cheer on the boys on the field all the way to the end of the game. The horn doesn't leave in the middle of the 3rd qtr if we are behind. If the boys on the field love it to blow all the time and it pumps them up then they should have it. They are the ones playing the game not the fans.
Thanks. We can agree to agree in part and disagree in part. I think both of our intentions are the same...we both want an exciting atmosphere and we both support the horn but we just like it to a different degree..HA! That's fine with me. And, it is about the kids on the field. Let's just hope we can all remember that as the year goes on. That one's easily forgotten!
Just one little correction there Goodsport, the horn is operated by an adult, I forget his relation exactly, but he is related to Coach Creduer, I think he may be his Uncle or something like that. I sat with them last year at the Livingston game since there was no more room in our side, real nice folks, has to be going deaf, that horn is almost unbearable at point blank range.  :P

 17. Our freshman team looked kind of small last week against GCM, was it the same tonight?

 19. Hmm, I'm at 100% on predictions so far. WTG Bears.
 20. I'm sure Butch has had a song written especially for himself...I mean for the occasion.
 21. I got 38 out of 79, but something doesn't seem right. I remember sometime either in the late 70's are the early 80's right before they were combined Beaumont French High School tied and was the state co-champion, it happened right before they were combine with another school, I want to say it was either in the 78 or 79 season. Someone in the know come back on this please. Found in in the UIL archives, it was the 84-85 season with Odessa Permian, tied 21-21

GCM has a couple more years before dominance, unless they move up some of those monster freshman I saw last Friday, looked like our guys were still in grade school compared to your guys size, sheesh.  ;)
 23. Good luck and go for the shut out, 3 fer 3.

Head of operations gives him more pull and power than you would imagine, not always seen eye to eye with folks and I cant blame em...Im an LISD employee so i'll keep the shots at him and all my other 100 bosses to a minimum, but yea, much needs to be changed with the admin in Lumberton. Started with Holloman hiring his buddy Fuller to the AD position in 00...but back to topic, the scoreboard is a go, Texas Scorboard and a few other private contractors have been in and out of the stadium all week laying the groundwork. It will include a new sound system, should be a legitimate upgrade. Just be glad it finally happened fellow raider fans!!
Pardon me, my boss' name is Talbot and yanno, I just type that one more often.  ;) Any time one person is given as much power as Talbert has, there will be problems.  Kinda like when Boss Hogg had complete control of the city.  Whew!  Glad that's over. I'm looking forward to the new scoreboard and the new sound system.  I'm always disheartened when I visit my alma mater and find it in disrepair.  I always wonder where all the money goes and it truly hurts my heart.
you always hear about starting a tradition, well it's not good to have a winning team and have someone keeping score on a chalkboard! keep the upgrades rollin'
We are upgrading for sure, going from that old chalkboard to permanently painted numbers on hooks.  :P :D :o
