One more win lifts Kelly to TAPPS state so finals

Way to go Kelly, let's show the rest of the state that the way to the state championships in soccer comes right through the Golden Triangle. Go 'Dawgs (both teams) and Raiders. -
As Dayton is Dayton and Vidor is Vidor? this exact post is what your criticizing crosby for. Your saying that Crosby is always this way and has always been this way, just like our administrators apparently think Vidor has always been they way they were and will always be in thier eyes. Congrats your exact insinuation is what your criticizing, its a freaking hypocracy. (this is not an attack on anyone else haven't had a problem with other psot so far.)
Great post. I live near Crosby, not in it, but I know the place. Crosby is an old farming and ranching community and deserves better than what is being written on this board. Crosby is more than the community of Newport and more than the community of Barrett Station. Newport came along in the 70's and those people came from places all over the state and all over the nation to live there. I personally think this thread has gotten way too much bad publicity for Crosby that they do not deserve. Most of those people don't have a clue what their school board decides or doesn't decide.
"As Dayton is Dayton", hmm, I'd be willing to bet Dayton wouldn't drop a game against Vidor, even if most of their players were of a different race. For one thing, Dayton likes the competition over here because it's more competitive year in and year out than over there. Those Broncs are always chomping at the bit to get one of the Golden Triangle teams in their sites win or lose. KF should have stood those school board members down, those folks weren't using any logical sense, just irrational fears. -

I hold Coach Flanigan to at least being partial to blame. He scheduled the game/s. He went to school in Lumberton and coached in Orangefield (2 of the many good schools in the Triangle). He knows about all the area schools. He should have stood up, told everyone about the good people in the Triangle and insisted the game be played as he scheduled. I am convinced that he could have kept the game on his schedule. I have never heard of an AD with even a small amount of courage letting the Superintendent tell him who not to play for a bogus reason like this. Other Texas communities that have Crosby on their schedules should insist on a credible answer. If I thought it was BS; I would petition my school to cancel the game. I would be interested in hearing from anyone concerning how serious the race problems are in Crosby. Must have been very bad for the community to react in this manner. Crosby ISD owes the entire Vidor community a public apology for their being narrow minded!
really??? you think there are race problems in Crosby and not Vidor???????..... try this site then tell me what you think.... [Hidden Content] or this.................. No race problems in Crosby...Now Vidor??....well I will let you be the judge in that.
Hey Hitman, you miss the core of the discussion. Nobody has said that Vidor isn't a huge majority of white folks, what they are saying is that like in most cases, the real problem with racism here is with those school board members of a different race (is that politically correct?) in Crosby who believe they will be greeted by a bunch of sheet wearing hillbillies with their 12 gauge propped over their shoulder and their gas soaked cross ready to be planted and lit. Shoot, if they are that worried about it, schedule their games with Lumberton.......oh wait..we're mostly white too. One benefit to that though.....Quanell already knows how to get to Lumberton. :o -

He's a pretty good QB and should be moved to backup, move Purks into the top spot, he is also a good QB, equal too or possibly better than Hughes. Hughes on the other hand could be a running back on the level of Jacob Hanna. He's got speed and good ball handling, I think he could easily be in the running for the top rushing spot if he concentrates on that one position. -

Ozen 3. Lcm/Nederland/Lumberton/Livingston/Png/Vidor It's to hard to pick right now but if i had to guess i would take LCM, Nederland, or Lumberton to fill in those last two spots. This district play will be real interseting!
I wouldn't consider nederland right now
Why not? I've seen most teams play and there doesn't seem to be a dominate team that is playing consistent including Ozen and Central. It will be an interesting year.
I havent seen nederland play but other than beating Ofield they seem to be the worst of the bad
Just curious EC, as I don't follow BBall that much, but do you think Nederlands' win last night was a fluke? What about you Big Ned fans, do you think your boys got lucky or were they just on fire last night? I am glad someone actually brought down one of the power teams right off the bat, maybe there will be more parity in basketball this year like there was on the football field, now that makes for an interesting season.
i dont buy it that the old 70's teams would kill everybody. You have to remember that was then..this is now...we are constantly gettin bigger, faster, stronger. heck a your average weight on your o'line back then i'd be willing to bet was 210-220. granted there were some unreal skilled players back then with guys like bergeron and little joe and those guys....todays teams would definitely out man em as far as size. Also..your offensive schemes and defensive schemes are probably more advanced then what DIV1 colleges were running at that time.
I'm with you on this Thunder, although I would call the average line back then more in the mid to upper 100's. Seems to me that a lineman tipping the scales at 200+ pounds back then was considered a monster and speed wasn't the norm. Nowadays the linemen do average over 200 pounds and have speed that would have put them in at fullback in the 70's. -

Nederland vs. Lumberton Predictions?
The Raiders prefer Coach Credeur. I like his winning percentage against Neumann. 66.7% And since you like math, that's 33.3% for Neumann against Credeur. Neumann could have been 66.7% against Credeur if he had run the big back in last year's game instead of passing. That was a "mksitae".
Actually Domination, didn't our team shut down that big back right along with the gun slinger last year? I think he played most of the game. -

Although we played them in a monsoon which is a great equalizer, I don't think Central is going to have enough to pull it out. PNG is dominant right now, they are going to crush Central by any means butI have to give it to the Injuns. 28-21.

Thus far, we have seen PNG's domination until the 4th quarter. Faircloth and co's. refusal to run a score up on anyone, shows a lot of class. However, things could have gotten bad for the last four teams that the Indians have faced. IMO of the Ozen game last night, PNG was up 35-0 with around 3 minutes to play in the 3rd quarter. Ozen could not stop anything that the Indians were doing on offense at that point, nor could they move the ball against the Indians D. My point is, that could have very easily been a 56-0 or 63-0 game. Central will have their hands, arms, and legs full next week.
I totally agree with you. Faircloth has a lot of class and could have very easily run up the score. Pulling the starters out giving the other guys some play time, as well as not totally embarrassing the other team shows the "fairness" of this coach. I was talking to a players dad and he said that at a parents meeting, Coach Faircloth said he would not NOT run up a score for the sake of getting more points, that he wants to give EACH and EVERY player a chance to get play time as much as possible. I tell you, PNG has definitely come together as a well balanced team and just seem to get better and better with each passing week. I just got in from the track for my morning run and the coaches were already there, making preparations. PNG fans know we have a dedicated coaching staff and are very proud of them. We WILL be ready for Central....the Indians are coming to town and are on a Warpath!
By pulling the starters, he's also giving the normally splinter butts real game experience which will be extremely helpful in the playoffs when you meet those barely 4A teams with what seems to like a thousand D1 players on their team.
