How many big games does vidor have to win for soccer gurus around here to give them some respect... Let me remind ya'll of what this team has done so far because you people choose to ignore the facts. The first district game the pirates traveled to Lumberton with a prediction of 5 goals underdog by the board's experts. The pirates ended up losing 3 to 2 on ot after dominating the entire game. With two minutes to go in the game Vidor was winning 2 to 1. They missed a pk and Lumberton came down and tied the game sending it into overtime. They scored a goal in the first minute of the overtime and then dropped back and booted the ball out of their box for 19 minutes. The only reason Lumberton won the game was because Vidor couldn't close but that was the first game of the district. The next 3 games the pirates stomped ozen 5-1, rolled over west orange 10-0, and crushed hardin jefferson 11-0. Then the pirates were to face a very good lcm team that was coming off two big wins against nederland and central but again you soccer gurus picked vidor to lose by 4. Vidor owned the feild that friday night and sent lcm home with a 3-1 loss. Then this past tuesday vidor traveled to central picked to lose once again. On their own turf vidor beat them 3-1 after coming from behind going into the second half. And here we go again.....the night before vidor and nederland........and you still pick vidor to lose....... When is this going to stop???? How many big games do they have to win before you can show this team some respect??? Night in and Night out Vidor boys put on their jerseys and they play their hearts out. They win because they deserve it not becuase they are a fluke. I could understand you calling it a fluke if it were one or two crappy games but this is freakin rediculous. Five wins in a row, two of them . against good teams and ya'll still can't accept that Vidor has a winning team this year. My prediction...may the best team win....VIDOR

Vidor played a great game tonight. They played without 4 of their starters and still out played lumberton on both sides of the field. Congrats pirates... Also in the starting 11 they only had 2 starters from last years team. Way to go pirates, keep up the good work.

Tha was a big win for us that has really boosted our confidence! It was a fun game to play. We were playing together, like a team should, and executing most of our offense. Our defense was great! this game has really pumped us up. we are ready for nederland.

How is that an infated ego?? ???

Don't ask why we shot so many threes...yes we can hit them but not tuesday obviously. coach tried to tell us SO MANY TIMES that they were not falling and to keep penetrating to the basket and we didn't. and after the shot there was no one for us rebounding. we watched film and saw one MAYBE 2 people in there rebounding occasionally. they would get 12 rebounds to our 3. if there is no one boxing out then we can't expect to get a rebound. we just didn't play with intensity and effort so thats what happens but we are not gonna dwell on this game. we know it happened...but there is nothin we can do about it. we are gonna focus on our next game. we WILL NOT be lookin for another loss against wos. i don't think its possible for us to play as bad as we did the other night. just gonna stay positive and come out more focused and with more fire then against milburn.

We just did not come to play. Lazy defense and no boxing out killed us. offensively we could not get our shots to fall..lots of vidors points came from transition baskets. we went 1 for alot on three pointers. tough loss but hopefully we can put this game behind us and worry about wo-s thursday.

Vidor beat Nederland by 19 @ Nederland. And its not like nederland is improving while vidor is not...vidor has improved very much also. Both teams have alot of experience coming back and both teams have a good shot at the 2nd or 3rd place spot. I do think Nederland has improved but it will be close like team first team said between dayton, ned, central, vidor, and lcm.

Vidor will be fine. With the 6'5 and 6'6 bigs we have that have both improved over this summer, we should do better than everyone thinks. We also have some shooters that can shoot the lights out. Jared Williamson is temporarily at the point til Roman makes his way in after this Friday.

I didn't think they had many that played football... but if stop thompson then you stop PNG...all you need to know.

I have no idea how Barbers Hill is but I played against Nederland a few times this summer and they have excellent three point shooters. You can not give any of their guards an open shot cause they will kill it all night. Their inside game did not effect us that much I didn't think. And coach english is a GREAT coach. I loved playing for him. He is missed at vidor...not saying robertson is not a good coach. Nederland will do fine. Cant wait to play them Saturday.

I agree..this will be a GREAT matchup to start the season. Vidor has been practicing hard and has been doing well but Silsbee is a very good team. Both teams played a great game last year and i'm lookin forward to another one. Vidor has 4 starters returning and Silsbee did lose a few of their key players. I say Vidor by 10
