Way to go Pirates...look like my prediction was correct. ;D Stay aboard and keep sailing straight ahead, mate.

Well this one is going to be extremely interesting. I am cheering on our Vidor team and am wishing them well in this one. This is a must win for both teams and I think the Dogs want the win just as bad as our Pirates. After our last two losses to the Panthers and the Bears, I think our Pirates will be back on their ship ready to forge ahead and steer straight into the path of the playoffs! ;D

Congratulations to both young men! It is nice to see the local guys keep playing in the next level! And what a way to go than with a buddy that you grew up with to be there to share it with! Wow!!! Again, Congratulations!

Well, I am going with the hometown boys on this one. However, both teams have the pitching and the bats so this one will be interesting and exciting to watch. Alot of parents biting the nails on this one.

Ok, these 2 teams have tied once before. Outstanding pitching by both teams. They will be playing again this afternoon in Nederland @ 4:30. Who can predict the outcome? ??? ??? This ought to be an excellent game to watch......

Everyone can judge for themselves on the coaching comment. However, I don't believe the term "so called talent" is applicable to either Vidor or Nederland. There's real talent on both teams. I enjoy watching both teams play because of their talent. If anyone remembers last year's start, it's too early to be making claims about the playoffs. WELL SAID.

Isn't there a ten run rule after 4 innings played?

Looks like Vidor has a pitcher you did not know about. Don't count us out on anything this year. This was a heck of a ball game to watch. Nederland did do a great job in this one but it wasn't enough to pull off. Robichau was getting the job done. Great game for both teams. Job well done Pirates. ;D

This was an excellent game to watch in person! The support from all the fans for both teams was terrific. Robi did an excellent job on the mound. Hester did warm up in the bull pen in case Robi got too tired but there was never a need for Hester. Job well done Robi!!! ;D Tight ball game until the end. Looked like Nederland was going to make a come back but the Pirates pulled it off. Way to go guys.

if that is what it will take to win....then that is what needs to be done.

Actually there are 3 Hesters. Trae is on Varsity and as everyone knows is outstanding. Mike plays on JV and Varsity some. He is a catcher. A pretty good one too. And then Cary is on sophmore for now. Mike and Cary are brothers. Randall Robertson is a talented catcher too. I am sorry I had left him off the list. So Vidor does have some underclassment talent to be watching.

Ok for Vidor there is: Maxwell - pitches well and plays a heck of a short stop Armstrong - pitches and is left field i believe Hester - pitches and plays center field.....don't hit the ball out there he is all over the place All 3 of these young men are on sophmore team as of this moment....i look to see them playing some on jv this year

This game was a pitcher's duel......both Silsbee's pitcher and Maxwell did not allow any runs until I believe the 4th inning. 2 runs were scored on Maxwell from fielders errors. Then Silsbee changed pitchers as did Vidor. Armstrong came in to finish out the game for Vidor and as usual did a great job. A heck of a game to watch.

It is an excellent article. Our boys have a determined mind set and it is really paying off. They have come quite a long way since the beginning of basketball season and I for one am very proud. Congratulations Pirates and we will be rooting you on for the rest of the season. ;D

The way Vidor is playing at the moment....hmmmmmmm I do believe it will be Vidor as the winner of this match up. Vidor was not picked to beat Nederland, Dayton, or LCM....but we DID! ;D

Congratulations to Vidor for the hard fought win. I was not personally there but heard it was a hard & intense game for both teams. The kind of game I really like to see.  Congrats go to both teams for playing well with each other. ;) I don't know what fully happened with some of the Vidor students but I cannot believe administration allowed throwing of the balls at the opposing team.  Apparently, some adults were not paying attention. During volleyball season, I let my son stay after & watch a game.  He later told me that he & some buddies were with a friend who was on crutches and they were in the stands.  My son and another kid each had a crutch in their hand and the other kid dropped the crutch down a bleacher or two.  The buddies ran off and left my son with the other crutch and the injured friend sitting there.  The principal came up to my son and escorted him out of the gym for this infraction.  So, throwing of the balls at opposing teams......REALLY should not have been tolerated or allowed in any fashion.  That is very disrespectful. >:( I know it is not my place....but I do apologize for this kind of behavior from our students.  This kind of behavior is what gives cities a bad name.  Again, truly sorry.

My daughter played softball last year for Arbuckle....she is a good coach doesn't put up with shanagins from the girls, if you talk in practice you will run the whole practice, etc. I can only imagine her screaming her lungs out at that game! She does speak her mind.

I do not mean any disrespect now with that in mind......why do some of the kids in your organization take batting lessons from Fackler? I have personally seen them there taking lessons with mine.

CONGRATS Nederland! Sounds like it would have been a great game to watch. Now that is the kind of games I like to see....Way to hang tough. ;D
