We don't have leagues pushing interest in baseketball for our young ladies. Not like we do softball. Softball is VERY big here. I believe that is why we do not have more young ladies in the sport in school.

My son has been taking from Chris Fackler....one of the asst coaches for McNeese. He has really turned his hitting around. Brings the kids right back to the basics and works from there. He has never hit this powerful or strong before Fackler. Alot of area kids around Southeast TX take lessons from him.

I need one of those injections as I type this!!! :-\

I can only imagine.....I hope and pray I will NEVER have to go through something like this. My prayers are with them.

who said they were favored to win the tourny?!? I never heard that..........yes, our boys have some work to do but good Lord, we all still support them. Or maybe by your standards, since there have been some WIN issues we should just abandon cheering them on? They have played other tournys w/teams in our district.

I have watched many a games with these guys playing....talk about make a game fun to watch. I enjoyed every game I saw them play. Looks like I need to go catch some Lamar PA games!!!

Couln't have said it any better than this! Larry Williams deserved a recognition...... Sincere CONGRATULATIONS to Roman Franklin and a good friend James Larramore!!!! Well deserved. Vidor should've had more representation than 2 players. Process should be reviewed.

From what I have seen.....ALL the players are rotated equally or when needed. Varsity does not have 1 kid that is just on the bench. They do need a leader and need to find their "zone" with each other. The Coach is not the problem. Why do people always think it is the Coach? Coaches teach and come up with plays but ultimately are not the ones on the court running up and down the court shooting the ball or actually playing the game. It is the kids. Also, I really like the way our fans come out and support our teams no matter what the situation. We show our support and know that soon they will find their zone and be extremely competitive with other schools. And if not, then we had a great time cheering them on. No matter what the kids play with heart.

Ok, I have watched a couple of the games so far this year. Vidor has a freshman on the team that I personally feel has no business being on Varsity as a freshman. I know he is a Williamson and all but when he plays he does not play with the confidence the others tend to show. Now, when he played as an eigth grader, he played with confidence and was kind of fun to watch. I just don't feel like he is on the same level w/the upper classmen. Vidor tends to get going and score plenty of points but then they just relax and the opponent surpasses them in points. Then it is like shear desperation to try and win the game....hmmmmm.

I grew up on Pipeline Road, which incidently is on the pipeline, in Vidor. There was a hunting lease at the end of the gravel road. We had horses on ten acres. One evening, we heard loud catlike crying.....the horses were going crazy running in every direction. It was around dusk time. We finally looked out the dining room windows and saw a LARGE black panther. Dad said it was the biggest he had ever seen and he ran to get his gun but by the time he came back and got out the door to shoot it, the cat had taken off into the woods. In telling this story to friends, some of the friends live down by the river and related similar stories about a huge black panther. I do believe they are around here. This is SETX...anything possible.

OMG.....I wouldn't want to be in an aluminum boat in the water w/that one swimming up next to boat. Talk about adrenaline rush!!!! Congrats to those guys.....they are certainly alot braver than most of us. Could you imagine even swimming in the same area?!?! AGAIN, WOW!!!! :o

Don't forget about Chad Sims returning also. I know he plays basketball too but alot of you forget he will be coming back to baseball at the end of basketball season. He is a well rounded athlete.
