****TRACK SCHEDULE UPDATE FROM THE UIL****
Jdad replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The uil should have thought this through a little bit better before post what they were thinking. You can't compare times with different conditions. I am glad everyone is responding and contacting them and hoping for a better solution. The swine flu problem is not a 2 week thing so the same problems will be at state as this weekend. Cancelling is not the answer everyone let your voices be heard look at the uil website and go to contacts and send your emails. -
Who's To Look for This Year in Track.....
Jdad replied to ozens fastest@1906's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Jamie King from HJ. She went to Reginals in the 800 and 1600 meters last year. She won district in Cross country last year and was hurt at the beginning of this year but since basketball ended she is working hard at track. She has a very good chance at winning district in the 800 ( was 2nd last year by .09 ) and she will compete in the mile. -
Hardin-Jefferson vs Madisonville Predictions
Jdad replied to Bobcat1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Latrisha and Jamie have been pretty sick for 10 days but looked like they were finally getting better last night. When we have them Victoria and Taylor scoring like last night we can win agaist anyone. Sheradan also looked like she was getting better and we are going to need her when we get agaist a bigger team. We get better as we get heathier. I predict a 15 point win and a strong statement. -
First I wish the Lady Bobcats much success come friday night and every game they play the rest of this year unless they play HJ again I'll jump off the bandwagon with respect. If the ladies play defense the way they have played agaist HJ and the intensity they will be very successful. I agree with OLGabe as long as they can remember they will associate Navasota with the game. I agree use that memory to fire the girls up and go take care of business and shake their hands after they get the victory and help heal some old wounds in Orangefield.

It was just as bad for the HF players and their parents on Senior Night. Then they stood at the door like Beavus and Butthead. I mean both were buttheads. ;D
-
The small gym makes the noise louder. It can't be as bad as 3 years ago we had to go to LCM to play ya'll for 2-3 seeding. That was like playing at Bleeds house. It would be great if there a double header like the Koutze vs Dibol game to really pack the house and make it crasy.

I believe you will write a column for the OL that will make it sound like Elvis himself will be there ;D If you want to see 2 of the best in SETX this is the one to see.I'll be there sitting next to Elvis and JFK. ;D ;D

It just don't get any better than this. Another classic from these two is a great way to get ready for the playoffs and It gives our girls a chance to show last friday was a fluke. ;D ;D Lets start the name calling and the mine's better than your's and see what we can get poppabear and bleed to agree to do for the winner. Be creative guys

KOUNTZE VS HARDIN JEFFERSON (LIONS DEN)
Jdad replied to TopDawG52's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Hopefully after the HJ vs Orangefield game the winner could play Kountze tuesday because both 1 seeds should have a bye, Would be a great warm-up game for both teams going into the playoffs. -
This was a normal HJ vs Hampshire Fannett game which was hard fought till the end. The HF girls played hard and the HJ girls who where sick played with alot of heart. This was a hard fought battle. On a sour note the HF folks incharge were not only unsportsman in there actions at the end of the game they give the whole program a black eye. They turned out the lights before the girls got out of the locker room. Our girls had a hard time finding their bags and because of darkness. The good folks of HF should get better people to represent them and their kids!

My hats off to OF and the way the girls played. They made the plays and worked hard the entire game. They stopped every run HJ made and they deserve a lot of credit. Now it means more than likely another game to decide the didstrict champion and I believe HJ will do a better job and I am looking forward to the game. I applaude the Orangefield fans you showed up in force like always and the gym was rocking.I know Jamie was sick and LaLa will get it going again so HJ will be ready. Wagner and Fontenot each put on a show great job girls.

Parents out of bounds; respect for coaches waning
Jdad replied to adminbaberuth's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I agree with most of your comments Bleed. My point was not really if that article was true but when you put parents in the title that includes everyone with a child. The ones that the statement is about are exactly what you said. I was fortunate to go through little dribblers with great parents who cared for all the kids. The group below ours fought like cats and dogs and was there for their kids only. My experience was great and most of those kids are no longer playing. Just like I would never say coachs are child molesters but a few are. As for Hawks respect is not in the title as you say I'm not a english professor but if your theory holds you must believe that the boss is to be respected and You work for Hardin Jefferson School District which when you get to the top it is the taxpayers or parents it just goes in circles. One day the kids you coach will be parents and taxpayers so you should respect them. Now thats scary ;D ;D ;D ;D -

Parents out of bounds; respect for coaches waning
Jdad replied to adminbaberuth's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I agree it is true But not all is great for the kid. It says that sports isn't always fair and sometimes discouraging but he wouldn't stand up for his kid because she needed to learn the hard way. Maybe when a bully picked on her he would say deal with it or a molester grabs her he could say learn from this it will help you later. If parents don't stand up for their kids no one else will. Those lessons are for adults not 14-15 year olds. I will respect anyone who is doing their best for their team even if they make mistakes. Not all who spend summers and thousands of dollars are doing it for just their kid. Some and the ones I know did it to prepare them for high school because the experience of going to state is a lifetime memory. I don't know about this teams success but I know for sure the success for HJ and Orangefield, Koutze is a dirrect path to the little dribblers program because you see the lack of success from the teams without parents who work for years to develope their kids for school ball. don't knock the parents who are willing to stand up for their kids! Now I know some parents are nuts but not all coachs are great either. The majority do the best they can and expect the same of others.
