I'd like to see the Bulldogs pull this off but I think Cushing takes it...with that being said, I think it will be a little closer than most might think.

Lady Pirates advance tonight in 5 sets!! Great job ladies! The 'Lil Red Machine Rolls!!!!

Don't have a dog in the fight anymore but I can say this...Newton is young but they're getting better every game. Heavy is the crown and these young men will carry that weight. I think they'll have a good playoff run but it's not going to be another Jerry World year. It's a tough grind for these smaller powerhouse programs to always live up to your reputation (WO-S) had a similar year or two but they will be just fine! WO-S is showing that they just might be a Jerry World team this year. Be patient and it trust in your program.

West Hardin forfeits to Shelbyville

No sir, they've had low numbers all year and (from what I understand) several of the freshmen parents pulled their kids earlier in the season. That, along with some injuries, and I guess they were just too thin. -
West Hardin forfeits to Shelbyville

Hate that for the Oilers. Hoping y'all can get your participation numbers up and start rebuilding. Trust me, I know that's a tough district y'all moved up to...we were there the last several years. Good luck WH. -
I'm proud to see the Mustangs rebuilding their program. Great game Burkeville! These kids played hard every single snap. Regardless of the score...they brought it. I must say, there are some really good athletes on that team, and they only dress 14-15 young men. That says a lot in my book. I'm hoping for a bright future for y'all!

Oh ok... Maybe check the thread?

Way to go Ladies!!!!!!!!

High Island must've seen the latest DCTF computer rankings.
-
Why not wait around for the "Super-Computer" at 'ol DCTF to award you your District Championship?...oh wait, Y'all had your chance and couldn't get it done. And yet again, there were 3 pages of excuses. Congratulations on your computer rankings, seems you thirst for validation. I understand how much stronger your schedule was with poor West Hardin and Pasadena Christian as opposed to Cushing and Warren. We took those "L's" and we are better for it...nobody cares about excuses (except you). DEWEYVILLE BEAT HULL-DAISETTA head to head. Regardless of how many "Horsemen" you have or how fast they are. Please get over your loss. Your team got beat. You lost. And no matter what post you make, you can't change that. You do have my vote for SETX Sports Forum's "Cry-Baby of the Year" though.

@H-D BOBCAT 55 Sounds like y'all brought your own Officials to this one? What a travesty...🤣 I heard that BV would've won this one 10 out of 10 times if you played it again with unbiased Refs.(That's what a very well respected 6A coach told me that watched from the stands.) It's a shame that the Refs kept giving y'all TD's like that, clearly, they were on the HD payroll! How could grown men hurt kids like that?...Dave Campbell's Special Ops team is launching a special investigation from what I hear from the HD fans I spoke to after the game. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 -
The 'Lil Red Machine rolls on! Good game Rebs. Prayers for the young man who was injured, hope all is well with him and good luck on the rest of the season.

I had to ask...wasn't "Borat" from Kazakhstan? 🤣 His sister Natalya was #3 prostitute in all of Kazakhstan...his mother gave birth to him at 9yrs old, his father was "Boldiek The Rapist". Come on man! It's worth a Wikipedia search...😂🤣. I will say, Borat is a better journalist than 90% of the news media in America today. And I personally thought Joe and Hunter looked great in their photo with those pesky Kazakh dictators.
-
I disagree...HD's #23 and #3 were dominant forces in that game, on both sides of the ball. HD again, had a ton of penalty yardage (#23 had a 46 yd TD called back for a hold on the opposite side of the field) and mistakes. Several Evadale drives continued due to these. #23 also had several batted passes, QB sacks and tackles. Yes, Evadale controlled the line of scrimmage in the first half but it seemed they ran out of gas in the second. HD played DV a much better game, but they have to overcome their penalties, and that's hard to do, at any level. #23's hard running iced the 4th Qtr and ate the clock, 5&6 yds. at a time. I understand that "The 'Dale" was without their QB and I understand that, but this was a loss...no matter how you look at it.

River Bowl Rivalry 2020 DV/ED
RedJollyRoger replied to RedJollyRoger's topic in High School Football
No doubt about it, this will be a hard fought game! -
So, you can't have a "running clock" without consent from BOTH Coaches AND the Head Official...how could anyone dispute that, after the fact? You agreed to a "running clock" or it couldn't happen. And you agree to that for a good reason.
-
Well, here we go...the "Dale" vs. the "Ville". Red vs. Blue, Pirates vs. Rebels, Sabine river bottom boys vs Neches river bottom boys with a River Bowl trophy at stake. What do you think?
-
Exactly, Soulja....there's always "that guy".
-
Yep, It seems "pretty cut and dry"...🤣 Oh, I have much to learn from you, O Great Rulebook Ruler" Please enlighten us and not shame us for our ignorance. We were thinking all along that if everyone agreed, a running clock was ok. NOW you tells us we're supposed to shorten the 12 min quarters to...well, 12 minute quarters. Thanks Dude
-
How would the "remaining quarters be shortened to 12 minutes"?
-
I'm not certain this doesn't align with the UIL....Both coaches and the referee mutually agree to shorten the game....? That's exactly what happens...What UIL laws have been broken? And how?
-
We don't need the UIL to dictate the decisions we make to play a game (concerning mercy). I 'm humbled to see my team win with class. And also a healthy team leaving out of here un-injured to play another game next week. I appreciate the offer, but don't need you to explain anything to me, regarding the game. Thanks though!
