Brett  Brown and now Jacob Pitts for Ned Hayden Guidry for BC
How does Pitts look since coming back from basketball?
At times swing was a little rusty but put the bat on the ball(4 singles and a 2b).  Had a .307 average for the weekend and .567 on base.  Pitched 2 innings facing 8 batters-1 hit, 1 K, 1 bb, no runs.  Threw better and harder in the second inning he pitched.  Not bad for two practices since basketball.  Something to build on.

WOW..Double OT... Great game and both teams would not give. Ozen was down by 13 and hit a series of 3s to take the lead by 1. Nederland would not let it go that easy and pushed when they needed to. Nederland hit free throws in OT with the clock winding to put the game out of reach.....

Worth $4.00 any day.
They hit some free throws but if certain players could shoot better than 50% from the charity stripe there is no first OT much less 2 OTs.  Free throw shooting is one weakness they are going to have to improve.  Still a huge win and good momentum going into the playoffs.

if you were to check the district hand book or bylaws you would have noticed that if ozen and nederland had flipped a coin then both of them would be co champs. since they are playing the game it is for the district championship. so there you have it the district champs will be the winner of tonights contest.
Well then I guess it is the Dogs!  However, I still consider them co-champs.  Great game tonight by two solid programs.

Our district playoff  teams are so inconsistant, I don't know what to think.  Ozen seem to have found their 'swagger' after losing to Nederland and then stumbled against Central and LC-M.

I think Livingston and Central are in the same boat.  At times, they look like really good team.  And like 2 or 3 games later, they look like a Middle School team.

Nederland started the season off looking as if they will be the doormats of the district.  They turn it on in district beating the good teams but they show an inconsistancy to lose to teams they shouldn't lose to.

LC-M have a good team, but I think that they play their best game every night and but is still are in a battle for the 4th spot.
You've confused me.  Nederland split with Ozen, Central, and LCM.  Which of those three losses can you say Nederland shouldn't have lost too, considering Ozen and Central lost to those same teams.
Yes, I guess your right.  I don't know why I thought that Nederland lost to PN-G and Livingston.  I guess I was wrong.  I think it's that Nederland did beat Ozen and Central, but on the same token, got blown out by these same two teams...  So I guess nederland is a Dr Jeykle (sp) and Mr. Hyde type team, just like Central...
Ozen, Central, and Nederland seem to have that Jekyl and Hyde thing going.....I just hope the right one shows up.

Thanks for working all that out but Lumberton and vidor have both proven to have the ability to sneak up on you. But I do agree with your predictions.
IMO....If Nederland loses more than two of the final four games then they don't deserve to go to the playoffs.  I don't think they will but your right they can't look past anyone and have to come to play every game.  Consistency has been ours and every other team but Ozens downfall this year.
11. 20-4a is down to a five team race:
The remaining schedules are:
Central(7-3 in district):  Nederland; @ Ozen; Livingston; and @ PNG.  Central has the toughest schedule remaining.  They are also the toughest to predict.  If they play consistently they finish 10-4 but if not could drop as low as 9-5.

Nederland(7-3): @ Central; Livingston; @ Vidor; Lumberton.  Nederland has the best schedule remaining .  I see them finishing 10-4 at best and at worst  9-5.

Livingston(6-4):  LCM; @ Nederland; @ Central; Vidor.  IMO with LCM, Nederland, and Central all in a row, they have the 2nd toughest schedule remaining. I see them finishing 8-6 or 9-5.

LCM(5-5): @ Livingston; Vidor; @ Lumberton; @ Ozen .  LCM  cannot afford to lose a game and with two tough road games @ Livingston and Ozen,  I  don’t see them winning out.  I see them finishing at 7-7 or at best 8-6.

PNG is 4-6 with Ozen and Central as their last two games.  They are only spoilers at this point and would need a miracle to make it to 4th.
Final standings predictions based on remaining schedule:
1) Ozen
2) Central or Nederland
3) Central or Nederland
4) Livingston
LCM could sneak into a tie for 4th but will need some help to do so.
It should be exciting as it all plays out.

Ned could still easily finish anywhere from 2nd to 5th and miss the playoffs.
Mathematically they could finish anywhere from 2-5 but not easily.  Look at remaining schedule:
Nederland and Central are 2 games ahead of 5th place with four games remaining.

Central(7-3 in district):  Nederland; @ Ozen; Livingston; and @ PNG.  Central has the toughest schedule remaining.  They are also the toughest to predict since any of the four teams have at time shown the ability to play.

I see them finishing 8-6 or if the stars align 9-5.

1) Ozen
2/3) Central and Nederland tie
4) Livingston
LCM could sneak into a tie for 4th but will need some help to do so.

These weren't just regular 3's with the toe just behind the line. They were, as the announcer said, "Downtown" much further than even the NBA. Some of his shot selection's were 15+ ft behind the line. I sure hope all parties involved work to get this young man an education so we can see him at the next level. The ball's in your court now BISD!

It's not just in BISD's court....It's in Franks court.....He has to be a student as well as an athlete.
