  2. Nederland's bullpen will return Kirby Bellow, Cody Laird, Tyler Smith, Jacob Pitts, and Brett Brown. Position starters Anthony Babino, Kirby Bellow, Stephen Schlett, Trevin Sonnier, Nick Cardenas, Tyler Smith, and Cody Laird.
  3. Who are the coaches for each team?
  4. Some of the underclass were not notified. If they had been then they would not be on the rosters since they leave for Phoenix, Arizona thursday. Some really good players on the rosters. Looking forward to some good baseball.
  5. Did any players from Nederland get nominated or asked to play?
  6. Dean was outstanding and the defense behind him was the best I've seen all year. Sonnier, Pitts, Schlett, Bellow, Laird, Cardenas, Vidrine, Dean, and Babino all made great plays. Just a spectacular all around game. Big win but need to stay focused to finish it off in one on Saturday.
  7. Great battle! I couldn't leave the computer. Great bunch of seniors as well as youth on this team.
  8. WP: Josh Dean 5 Innings 3 runs 5 Ks 3 hits 6th Inning: Tyler Smith 2 Ks 2 hits Homeruns: Kirby Bellow, Jude Vidrine, Stephen Schlett 2B: Jordan Pitts(4 for 5), Kirby Bellow(3 for 3 with 2 walks), Nick Cardenas(3 for 5), Jude Vidrine(3 for 3 with a walk) Cody Laird (2 for 3) Good pitching, great defense, and bats firing up at the right time. Keep it up dogs!
  9. It changed after last year and is now decided on the field unless coaches agree to flip for it. There is a rumor that a flip has already taken place and LCM will go in as 2nd and PNG as 3rd.
  10. When Nederland tied LCM last year for third, the tie breaker was head to head. However, I was told by the coach that the tie breaker was changed in the off season to make it be decided on the field. That was to make the playoffs, I don't know if it would apply for ties in seeding.
  11. I believe with Lumberton losing to LCM it makes 20-4A seedings: 1. Nederland 2 or 3: LCM & PNG tied barring a loss by either team in the final game. 4. Vidor
  12. Josh Dean pitches two innings and gets the win only allowed 1 earned run the other two were unearned; Jacob Pitts replaces him with no outs and runners on first and third in the third inning pitches 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th; Tyler Smith pitches 7th. Doubles by Kirby Bellow; Stephen Schlett; and Jacob Pitts. Great job Dogs!!!
  13. Great win for Vidor. I think this one assures them of the 4th spot for the playoffs since Lumberton has to win both of their games next week(LCM & Nederland) and get some help in order to even have a shot at a tie for 4th. FYI Vidor will play at Nederland Monday instead of at home as the article says. I believe due to TAKS all games will be at 4:30 PM.
  14. I thought they had a fighting chance to make the playoffs but it just doesn't seem in the cards. As far as being young, if you look at Nederland and PNG's starting lineup you see more sophomore, then juniors, than you do seniors. Nederland only has to fill two spots defensively next year and PNG only has to fill three. The whole district, except LCM, is young this year. Makes for some good competitive years ahead.
  15. Tremendous pitching on both sides held both teams to 5 hits. Bellow is the best pitcher I've seen all year. The defense was outstanding as well. Pitts made some plays look easy... Sonnier strong at third...Schlett was solid.....Laird made some scoops at 1B..... Spikes..... Benoit.....another great game to watch if you're a baseball fan.
  16. Kirby Bellow just keeps getting stronger. If the season ended today he would have to be my pick.
  17. It's going to be an interesting finish. Vidor, Lumberton, and Livingston all have Nederland, PNG, and LCM left on their schedule. Besides those three games on each schedule Vidor and Livingston still have to play each other.....Lumberton has Central and Ozen.....Livingston has Central.... Vidor has Ozen. Ozen and Central could be in the spoiler role for one of these teams but I think the Vidor v Livingston game will decide if there is a tie or not for the 4th playoff spot.
  18. Brown and Campbell were moved down to get more playing time. It's a great problem for Coach Robbins to have enough talent to have to send some very good players down to get playing time. Pitched 3 underclassmen against Ozen. With those three plus Bellow, Brown, Sonnier, Campbell, etc. the future of NHS pitching looks bright.
  19. Dean pitched first two scoreless innings; Cody Laird pitched 2 run 3rd; Tyler Smith pitched scoreless 4th; Jacob Pitts pitched scoreless 5th and 6th; and Neil Higgs pitched 1 run 7th. The entire bench got to play in this one. Coach pulled back as soon as it was 9 to 0 and started to sub in the third. Jordan Pitts, Kirby Bellow, Nick Cardenas, and Tyler Smith all had extra base hits.
  20. Proud of Josh. He has had a great senior year in two sports. He along with the other seniors have provided us with many years of baseball memories.
  21. That's funny, I don't care who you are. ;D
  22. There is a full list of activities for the night. I understand for the first time, there will be a basketball king and queen. I am not sure how that will be selected but a suggestion would be to put canisters out with each senior players picture on them and have people pay a dollar a vote in the canister. The male canister and female canister with the most funds at the end of the night is your king and queen. Would be a great fund raiser and not turn it into an ego thing! In the end all seniors benefit. This is gonna be a fun night.
  23. There will also be a faculty vs seniors co-ed basketball game. All proceeds go to Project Celebration. Should be a fun night!
