  1. wos92.....I was also at the game, in PNG student section which is at the goal line......He never made it to the line with the ball......and if I'm not mistaken on last down plays (which this would have been) the player that fumbles the ball has to be the one that recovers the ball, not a teammate.......anyway, has to be a top 3 game between these two teams....... I can't believe no one has mentioned 'Clockgate' yet.....this has to be the worst call in local sports (although I think the crew was not from here) PNG vs Ozen with 2 seconds left and a TIMEOUT was called..............REF winds his arm to start the clock as the play starts signaling the guy up starts to start the clock..(clock should not have started until it was snapped)......kick goes through but called no good because time has expired before the ball was snapped...........still can't believe it happened.......... WB vs Katy I think will call this one 'Brotherinlawhelpedpickthecrewgate'..... just one call from the game (of many) : a Katy drive was stalling near the West Brook 15 yard line........Katy fumbles the ball and about 4 crew members are digging threw players to find the ball......out one side pops a West Brook player with the ball showing it up in the air........almost simultaneously one ref gives the signal he sees the ball and points down and in the direction of Katy's ball all happening while a West Brook player is trying to hand him the football??
  2. I think YAC are going to be important in the Bruin passing game........I don't see them lighting it up 40 yards down the field but utilizing short routes, I see the back's sitting in the flats.....RB's and R's will need to get what they can get!! as far as passing attack I'm going with Lee vs Memorial.......
  3. No results found for redicules. American Heritage Dictionary - Cite This Source rid·i·cule (rĭd'ĭ-kyōōl') Pronunciation Key n. 4. I would say English at Nederland........Vidor fans can confirm (first ever playoff trip).........It won't be long and we will be seeing the emergence of a few good Nederland teams!!
  5. If I remember correctly Coop....Tal was drafted for baseball.....my memory is failing me but that's what the mind is telling me?? maybe sum Lum alum can sum it up.......lol
  6. PNG fans do differ from other fans!! and I'm 'proud' of that!! I like the fact that other teams recognize PNG's fans..........It's always been known......9-1 or 1-9.......the stands are packed.........If people are recognizing now that it's not happening anymore then I feel there is a problem with that.......... PNG put it's self under a 'different microscope'...........and it should be.......tradition is what got us there and tradition should be what brings it back!! those '64 fans cheering or not are there...and are the true fans........if we have to wait to inherit tickets then we wait......again it's tradition....... maybe our coaching staff just needs to find some of the heart that made PNG what it is......if anyone has a peace of it, MB does.....it's in his blood!!! Good luck this year PNG!!
  7. PNG could make a case for the third spot........'08 could be PNG's year to beat WB......last years 8 inning game was good, if it could get better............ it could be this year......... I like the 1 & 2........if those two could play each other that would be one of the games of the year.......
  8. Ridicules thread!!
  9. Congrats! Baseball on the Bay........Fort Walton, Destin, Panama City Beach........man.........bring the sun screen..........lol
  10. I know all the pro camps I ever attended.....for outfielders if you did not run under a 6.5 60.........it was "have a nice day, thank you for coming out".........
  11. "The Mets have called up Chip Ambres from the New Orleans Zephyrs to replace Damion Easly on the bench since he was sent to the Bereavement List to go home and take care of a family illness." Great news!! and Good Luck!!
  12. Something amazing........some may remember Dr. Msonthi Levine on the football field at West Brook...........I remember him getting hit about mid-thigh......flipped over, with out skipping a beat......and picked up another 7-10 yards before being brought down...... (IMO) one of the most exciting RB's in West Brook history!!
  13. I don't know what they get out of scrimmages my guess is the same as everyone else + what you have already said......good quality teams and less driving before the season....... (yet they added Clear Creek (5a) and went there...also they went to Lufkin but my understanding is that scrimmige rotates??) I do know why local teams are on early because I asked, when I saw Central on the schedule...........i was told.......between 5 game weekends and traveling to tournaments they play local teams on the Tuesdays before they have to really travel........ex: Ozen.....Central.....Vidor....were all played before going into tournaments..........BH game was in a 5a tournament BH chose to go to......PNG game was in WB's own 5a tournaments which PNG is welcomed in by WB..... would you believe little or no travel involved might not be a benefit?? here is how.......6 of 7 away games are on bus rides 60 minutes or longer.........then if you make the playoffs..............once again....you travel.....
  14. of the teams you named........ LC-M is a scrimmage every year (district Champs) PN-G is a Scrimmage every year and they are in the WB tourney game went 8 innings last year!! (district runner up) Played BH early last year, even lost to them(although not one WB (district) starting pitcher saw the mound) (district runner up) some you didn't name....... Jasper was a scrimmage last year(duhh) Nederland is a scrimmage every year(one game playoff lose to vidor) play Ozen to start the season, even lost last year(no (district) starting WB pitcher saw the mound) (??) played central ?? played Vidor('s best team ever) 11-1 (3rd playoff spot in district) That's 8 area teams WB has worked with, just using last year for example..........take the local 4a district and BH's district and West Brook worked with the top 4 teams in one(lcm, png, vidor, nederland) district and one of the top teams (BH) in the other...........5 of the best in both 4a districts........... IMO....I would say, West Brook works with the local teams enough........ East TX ( your putting words in my mouth and I take offence) I separate myself from these others who are saying West Brook would beat every team in this area all the time (that's a ridicules thought...and also the beauty of the game)........I am more for them playing teams early in the season that mirror what they will see come APRIL MAY and JUNE eagle07.........list what you think West Brooks benefits would be.....NO ONE HAS DONE IT............... YET!?!?!?! also how many 2a-3a tournaments did BH go to last year??
  15. again..very funny ;D but,........who is "we"........... that applies to everyone else and not West Brook..........
  16. PNG vs NED '49.......All from Buck Fords 'Down trails of Victory'......... The school year started with both areas voting on combining both school districts together...........when it came 'game week' both sides showed little remorse for the other.......Nederland folks saying they were going to scalp an Indian at the Nederland Pharmacy......Port Neches folks saying they were going to burn a bulldog at the football field Reported in 'the Chronicle' also in Fords book..... On game day officially the word was it was cancelled because of rain........6 hours before game time superintendent of Nederland called PN-G schools and asked to cancel the game due to the field being too wet.........PN-G coaches asked about playing the game on Saturday, instead of a cancellation....... Also, it says, some fans wanted to see for them selves if the field was playable and felt that it was.......others checked the airport weather bureau and found half an inch of rain had fallen on that Friday......... 1950......All PNG home games were actually played at Nederland because the new stadium on AVE D (today's site) was being built.... It really does not say why they were not rescheduled in the next few years..........PNG did move up to 3a in 1951 and Nederland was in 2a..............both saw the playoffs during the absents of the games, between the two, and it does say both sides showed great support for the other....... When they did meet up again in 1954 Nederland was 4-0 ranked #1 in 2a and PN-G was 3-0 ranked #1 in 3a (and had just won State in '53).......Nederland would win that game 27-24...... Again all of this info is in Buck Fords book 'Down Trails of Victory'!!!!
  17. 9 posts and some from the most respected on the board yet I have not heard one thing about why this would Benefit West Brook (nothing or no one else) other then the disputable........"they would or would not be 'playing down'".................... The Benefits for West Brook are A: B: C: 1: 2: 3: What are they??
  18. West Brook and Newton have never played........
  19. What benefits would there be for West Brook to take part in a local 4a, 3a tournament?? List as many as you can...... or do you think there are none??
  20. Instead of these simple sayings about ego and fear I would rather hear you guys tell me how it would benefit West Brook to play in a 3a 4a tournament...............I would love to hear a few...........or do you not have any??
  21. What does BH have to do with LC-M repeating as District Champs??
  22. furthermore, to West Brook......."we just can't handle it if Nederland, BC, or Sulphur La. beats us...LOL ................getting "mauled" by these teams does not mean anything.............getting "mauled" by 5a Kingwood means you've lost a district game........and that does have meaning!!!
  23. Have you taken the time to answer my last post yet.....Do you see Katy or TheWoodlands entering tournaments with 3+ 3a teams in them (like your asking West Brook to do)....Look at Cy-Fair....this years 5a state champs.... and check out who they scrimmage vs West Brooks (Jasper, Lufkin,PN-G,Clear Creek,Nederland, LC-M).....only one 5a school for West Brook.......Again it's not about winning in Southeast Texas for 5a baseball it's about winning '5a'Houston because if you do that it means your in the State Finals........ handle it losing to an area team.....lol......if they couldn't they would have folded tent after game one loss to Ozen then shortly after to Barbers Hill...........handle it.....lol it's hard enough for our area 5a schools to be respected in the Houston area in any sport and you think the way to get there is to put BC, Jasper, Silsbee, and who ever else on their schedules.........nice.....
  24. ;D funny..........I think it's under those red feathers to the left of your screen......lol ;D.....or it could be the "van down by the river"........lol Seriously.......research question......Pick any other 21-5a team (excluding PAM) and look at their preseason schedule Check Kingwood out themselves and the teams they play(Katy, Tomball, The Woodlands).........how many 3a teams do any of them play??........the "BIG O", Zero, Nada..........Look at how many 4a schools make their schedules.....the one team you see the most of on many top 5a schools is Brenham.........
  25. I would say the team you left out (LC-M) has the best chance of a repeat
