Timing play as long as runner from third crossed before ball is thrown to 2nd run counts.
-
Sorry just got up. This is not a force play out. That makes it a timing play. As long as the runner from third crosses home before the appeal is made the run counts. People get confused because it seems like it is a force out but it is not it is an appeal out. Run counts. Had this on test too many times.

Hardin-Jefferson 5 Hamshire-Fannett 4/Final - 10 innings

HJ won 5-4 in 10 innings -
Nothing like promoting good sportsmanship at the high school level.

Thanks Deuces that should answer everybody's question.

Yes, not all runners are awarded a base.

If the fielder clearly has control of ball after tag its an out. No rule change. The only thing I can think of different is if a fielder makes a catch and then runs into a fence and loses control, then it is not a catch.

Fowl Balls

I had a ball last night that was fair for 4 seconds then the wind blew it in foul ground, Guess I missed that one !!!!!!!
-
As we all know if not touched it is a foul ball

Rob Kirkland

Correct call was we should have awarded two bases from time of throw. Think we were all in shock and we just kept on playing.
-
I will get an official ruling on this. I was the home plate umpire when this happened. After talking with both coaches, we all agree that 2 bases from the time of the pitch should have been awarded. Never seen a ball go out of play like this. And it didn't go into the dugout it went OVER the dugout!!! lol Will get an official ruling.

Just remember it is against the law to yell or argue with any umpires in SE Texas

I have never heard that Les K got ran off. I played against that team in 75. He got ran off and just happened to land at Houston Memorial? I think time has somehow warped that story.

I'm impressed you can count!!!!! Have to move you up on my list!!

Mr Coit called a real Guru and you are correct Admin. I was ask this question last night and I said since the runner had acquired the base before the dead ball then he was safe. We all learned on this one!!!
-
you have nothing. The batter has the right to stand in is normal spot as long as he does not move to get in the catchers way.

U da Man Tee, But I know you have a good role model also!! ;)

very rare but I have called it for someone sticking out an arm

Stepping out of batters box and contacting a pitched ball if this happened he would not get his base and it would be umpires judgement if it was a strike or not
-
A batter is to be ready to enter the box. If he delays by not getting in the box or walks off after a pitch, a strike can be called. Part of the speed up rules is to keep the batters near the box. Another situation is if a batter ask for time but it is not granted and he walks out of the box, if the pitch is delivered it is a strike no matter if it is in the strike zone or not. I always try to keep the batters near the box, on very few occasions over the past years have I called a strike on the batter. This has been a rule since the 1990's .

Federation rule / uil rule. 10 runs ahead after 5. Only time you will see anything different could be in one of the early season tournys. A team if it is behind can call their own mercy rule at anytime without penalty from UIL and is considered a complete game
