  1. I think it is a very good game for GOW. It looks to be 2 very even teams that could go a long way to determining playoffs. Now small school GOW I really disagree with. Hardin at Anahuac should have been that not Jasper and Silsbee.

  3. been working some crazy hours! so what is the dealeo with livingstons stadium? I am getting the impression that it's not up to par ??? Wolfgang, They are only allowing 1500 for the vistors side because of fire code. Oh, and don't expect standing room only. If you don't have a ticket right now, you aren't getting in to watch the game. And don't forget that probably 1/3 of the visitors side will be taken by band and drill team, so that leaves 1000 for the fans. Sounds pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Are the stands made out of wood? Geez... how old is this stadium? How Old ??? I do not know but it was old when I played a game against Livingston back in 1975 LOL

  6. Ump stays up till one in the morning doing stats. Heads to Colorado Mountains for WOS Off Week !!!
  7. Are you a referee too there MrUmp? If so you're not going to Tim Donaghy this one are you? Ya see that NBA guy was an amateur at that throwing a game stuff. I haven't been caught yet LOL But know I only ump baseball no football for me as i have more important duties during the football season. Besides, there would be no need for me to throw this game as EC will not need any help from the officials.
  8. I would be willing to bet that Alvarez worked on the fumble problem ALOT this week...Not down playing the fact but good coaches fix those problems. I expect a totally different Kville team this week. Focused! Will be a tough one but with the rain anything can happen. As Ed McMahon would have said "You are correct sir!!!!!"
  9. Kirbyville has had a problem holding onto the ball in dry weather 7 fum lost 5 in 2 games. Slick ball if they turn it over a bunch it could get out of hand quick. Lindsey for WOS the way he runs is going to be very tough to tackle tonight and WOS line has been very good so far. It all about the mistakes.
  10. Bucs win this one. 35-14
  11. I guess I could get you a pass to the press box LOL Whats it worth to ya ???????? :D
  12. hmm... how many greased pigs have you tackled? lol There are just some things of my personal life i just can not share with everyone ;D 12+ inches.. come on Coop sounds like the media is out to sensationalizing the weather.
  13. Wet fields does not neccasarily turn into low scoring games. Could be more turnovers and cheep scores. The receivers also know where they are going and a defender falls down or slips and it is over. Heavy rain while playing maybe low scoring but not because of a wet field. Hands muddy and jersey's muddy and it's like trying to tackle a greased pig.

  15. And what poll would that be? The barberpole? maypole? northpole? Heck, Hardin hasn't won a district championship in 35 years (lost 54-0 in district). That just doesn't generate a lot of state wide respect. Since I am getting to be an old man, let me give you a little fact about that year Hardin won the district title. You make a point they in Bi-District 54-0. That was Brookshire Royal who had a very good team. the other point and much more important, the Saturday after wrapping up the district, one of Hardin's best players Bill Van Dorn was tragically killed in a hunting accident and the team was in shock for days following that. As for this year Hardin will dominate this game against Tarkington. [/quote Do believe coach Haynes was on that team.. Yes coach Haynes was on that team. Should have been a sophmore. He is one year ahead of me in school and we played Little league together. I had moved to EC so i did not get to play FB with him.
  16. Would like to hear some comments from Gas, Gunho , Coop, Skipper and the bunch who have witnessed all three games. I can't believe you would want Coops opinion over mine LOL It's early but what I saw from Vidor was an offensive line that really came off the ball very well which is a big key to the type of offense that Vidor runs. Nederland needs good play from QB position. I do not understand why Big Ned has gone to the spread because I have always thought their old offense was much more productive than the spread. Those long drives of running the ball and the quick traps with the fullback always worked great. LCM has a new attitude and is at least trying to play as hard as they can for their new coach. I never saw them give up the other night and that was a big change. Vidor by far the better of the three at this point with LCM and Nederland about equal with the loss of Bellow.
  17. As one coach that i know says " Hell of a way to make a living guys. Depends on what 15-18 year old do on the field" That is a great point that i think many forget that these are young men, still growing, learning and from week to week things change as about as often as some change girl friends lol.

  23. WW you getting all worked up..... Settle down lets not get that blood pressure up ;D If anyone should be getting worked up its me since I have TWO playoff series I still have not been paid for. Schools are going to pay in a timely manner this year or maybe we just won't have any officials available for their games. I only have three cans of pork and beans left in the cupboard to eat and I need a new 18 degree hybred wood for golf ;D
  24. Geez someone is already doing a count down to the season.... Some of us Umps just finished the season and our old tired bones need some rest.... Plus I need to work on my golf swing some more ;D
  25. Just to clarify a little something. TASO only has jurisdiction over umpires calling in UIL High School games. They are not officially assigned by TASO. We do look at the actions of umpires calling summer league games and our board of directors can decide if we want to take dues from a person. Summer leagues do scratch umpires with their assigner. One of those things that just has to run it's course and when there is no where for guys to call because of their actions, then we as TASO have a leg to stand on if we reject their dues. We have to let certain things happen or we could be sued for discrimination. You can not convict someone of what you heard went on in another state. It is just like in the courtroom we need reasonable doubt.
