  1. MrUmp goes 19-5 missed on Dayton Huffman Ozen Warren Newton
  2. I do not know if Ken Poston does the West Brook football games or not, but he does an outstanding job on baseball games. Favorite for football without a doubt Tip Durham. Also for baseball BC and LCM have very good announcers.
  3. Haven't seen an East Chambers list yet so I will put out a few names from around my time. Some of the Bucs from the last 15 yrs or so I am not as familiar with so this is a 60's 70's list. Of course I can't put my own name lol. Glen Gaspard All American UT Mack George TCU- saw mack the other night and I think at 50+ he is still in playing shape lol Brian East Brett McDonald UT Jesse Evans Billy Ray Thomas
  4. Maybe a mild upset but what everyone needs to remember is that certain teams match up very well with others and thats why it is so hard to pick winners no matter what level you are talking about.
  5. Week 4 (September 28) **Big School Game of the Week** Dayton at Lumberton (gotta pick Dayton till the get knocked off but I would love to see Lumberton put a L on my pick ) **Small School Game of the Week** Deweyville at Hardin ( Larry Haynes's passing attack to much for Dewey) _____________________________________________________________________ 21-5A Atascocita at Beaumont West Brook Channelview at Port Arthur Memorial 21-4A Barbers Hill at Houston Forest Brook Huffman at New Caney 22-4A Port Neches-Groves at Beaumont Ozen Vidor at Nederland Beaumont Central at Little Cypress-Mauriceville 21-3A Hamshire-Fannett at West Orange-Stark Kirbyville at Jasper Orangefield at Silsbee Bridge City at Hardin-Jefferson 24-2A Anahuac at Buna Warren at Kountze TAPPS 3-4 Legacy Christian at Bay Area Christian Non-District Carthage at Newton Cleveland at Navasota Diboll at Liberty Woodville at Tarkington Kelly at San Augustine Huntington at West Hardin Price Carlisle at Evadale High Island at Chester
  6. Lets see what the Kirbyville /Jasper score is before I can predict a 3rd place team. If Jasper plays Kirby close then watch out for Jasper the rest of the year. WOS @ Kirby will decide the district champion. Still a long season and young teams that grow can make for some surprises. And the one factor that no one wants to talk about is what teams can avoid the injury bug. Only takes losing a few key players on any team to change this whole prediction thang up.
  7. This will be a rout. All it is going to take is for the offense to get rolling and the next 2 games they will. WOS scores at least 35 and I really think it will be in the 40's.
  8. Umpster goes 13-4. Looking forward to the district games as I think there could be more than a few surprises
  9. Can a coach show film.... How would you police that if it was a rule. Think of this. Dad is coach of team. Son is Quarterback.. We have all seen that before. So you are going to tell me they can't sit around the house and watch film. No way to police that
  10. Week 3 (September 21) **Game of the Week** Hardin-Jefferson at East Chambers _____________________________________________________________________ Port Arthur Memorial at Houston Lamar Livingston at Vidor Lumberton at Cleveland Kelly at Bridge City Silsbee at Newton Kirbyville at Liberty Shepherd at Woodville Splendora at Anahuac Coldspring at Diboll Groveton at Warren Deweyville at Burkeville Hull-Daisetta at Buna West Hardin at Kountze High Island at Hardin Evadale at Legacy Christian Chester at Sabine Pass The most intriging game for me this week is Livingston @ Vidor. I could see this being a very close game.
  11. Don't know who will win but this old buccaneer is gonna go see his old team play this week. #1 in your heart # 83 in your program Class of '77
  12. I think OL has made it sound like DPG would have run for more yards if he had ran it more. I don't know. I had him officially with 12 carries for 61 yrds. He had 36 on one run, so the other times he didn't do much. DPG has not run the ball like he has in the past. WOS just played three 4A teams that could all make the playoffs. 2-1 against these teams is pretty good. With the week off I think WOS will work on a few things and will come out smokin in district play.
  13. Maybe all the press should stand together and NO ONE cover games at Lumberton.
  14. 15-8 lost on Silsbee, HF, PAM, Hou Sterling, Bellville, Jasper, Orangefield, Stafford, Today I have LCM Seguin WOS... I think this is gonna be a high scoring close one, and if I don't pick WOS Coop will whack me when he sees me. and Furr.
  15. And all we get is Bostwick and Coop.... LOL Bring on the weather babes !!!!!! don't hit me toooo hard for that one saturday night coop ...lol

  17. 20-10 a little better than week 0
  18. Will the picks be added up each week and have a season winner ?
  19. I am sure that most schools keep track of all the defensive stats but all of the stats on this report are generated from offensive stats. If you ever tried to keep stats, you would understand it would take 2 or 3 people to try and keep track of everything as the game is being played. Sometimes I have enough problem just doing the offensive stats. Get kinda tough seeing numbers sometimes.
  20. MrUmp1 ---- 16-10 Looks like I need to learn how to make the call better lol
  21. Maury Sallinger has been the Region 3 Statistician for many years. He receives reports from many districts in all classifications and then forwards this info to many different outlets. This way all the info is easier to get out so that all of our players can get recognition throughout the state. All the info he gets is from each individual school not from the media.
  22. Have the coaching staff call the region statistician and get it correct. All of these stats are turned in by each school. They are responsible for any corrections.
