H-D Football....JOE SLACK NEW HC/AD!!!!
CSI-Texas replied to BigDaddy92's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Good luck to the kids this season. And good luck to you Coach Birdwell. -
Good luck to you Bird.

I talked to Coach Breuer at the end of last year and he told me he was not coaching at all. That way he can go watch his daughter, who I believe is at PNG, play. He told me he will be just teaching. That is the last I heard.

**JASON HENRY GOING TO HD**...IT'S OFFICAL!!!!!!!
CSI-Texas replied to baller277's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Appreciate it Swami. Good luck to y'all over there. Maybe you can get them to schedule their playoff game in the Woodlands. Nice gyms over here. -
HD's teaching salary starts out fairly low but with time it increases greatly. If you have 10 or more years you do better than most schools around even Dayton who starts out well. It will be a pretty good pay raise from Lumberton. Because Henry has about 13 years experience.

Heard that the baseball coach, Coach Hamilton is the new AD. Do not know him but he did coach baseball at Central I guess about 10 years ago.

Melancon will not coach basketball this next year. Randy Birdwell will be the girls basketball coach next year. At least that is the word.

****BREAKING NEWS/JEFF LILLEY RESIGNS FROM HD****
CSI-Texas replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Coach Merendino got out of coaching and just teaches at HD. Coach Lilley was his assistant coach three years ago and took the job for the last two years. I look for Joe Allen Slack to take over a very good basketball team next year that will be loaded with juniors. -
Players to watch in 24-1A
CSI-Texas replied to West_hardin_17_13's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
If a kid moves into the district with their legal guardian they will have to sit out 15 days as long as the guardian has an address in the district. If he moves in without a legal guardian, or moved to sour lake and enrolls in west hardin he will have to sit out a year. -
Anyone heard anything about West Sabine?
CSI-Texas replied to CSI-Texas's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Wonder if Todd Stark will move up to AD at West Sabine. He did pretty well when he was at High Island. -
Heard that Gary Vanya has left West Sabine to go to Kirbyville. Anyone know if this is a fact?
-
He can approve a hire from out of the country. Hopefully he trusts the principals and AD's decision when they call him. Otherwise you do not have any trust within the administration. But the principals are in contact with him during his time away.

Heard that Melancon was told she had the job, then she didn't have the job. But Melancon is supposed to coach Track and Volleyball. Hawkins is supposedly staying and she maybe going to the Elementary. Or they will bring in a coach to go to the elementary. Nothing is set in stone yet and change from day to day.

McCullough is the Junior High Feeder School to the Woodlands High School. Should have put a comma after that Shermdog. LOL

vintonhigh.cpsb.org/ Not much on their website. kenramsey.com will keep up with the schedule during the year. They went three rounds in the playoffs last year. Usually very fast and athletic. They are a double A school in Louisiana. If I had to compare them to anybody I would say they would compare to Newton or EC talent and speed wise. They will not be as disciplined as Newton or EC. If D-ville can contain the outside they should do well. You will have to run over them, probably won't outrun them. But good luck, should be a good game. -

Huddleston has been coaching for 15 years. Went to Daisetta to take the DC position 2-3 years ago I believe. Ready to become a head coach he moved to the 1A ranks to serve his time and move up when the position opened. Now it has and he worked under a great AD. He has done the right thing as a coach. Now it is his time. I think if you want to be a first time head coach you work your way up and prove your loyalty. Big difference between 1A and 3A. Huddleston moved from 3A and learned what he has to work with in 1A as an assistant. As said in a post earlier he has earned his stripes and done it the right way. -

Should know by the end of next week. Current DC Allen Huddleston is the favorite and will inherit a gold mine. All skill positions coming back and everyone on the state runner up track team will be on the field. Two defensive ends were the only losses last year I think. Will be fast on both sides of the ball. Not to mention their fullback and Tight End will be some bruisers. -
I think Huddleston has the experience and is ready for the AD position. They can open if they want and word is they are. Politics is why. But Huddleston would be the best person to make a smooth transition for the kids. Especially this late.
