Not just 2-6 had the JV power. The lead off hitter was a junior who might be the strongest weight lifter on the team .  Tonight's North wind should make the Dogs feel stronger going for the wall .

Hopefully Nederland will hit better tonight.  But , this is 2 years in a row the Dogs were a pitching dominated team with little hitting . The only power from last years team graduated .  This team has no power at all !  But there were  better sticks in the junior and soph class JV team this year which will move up in 2014.  it remains to be seen if they will have equal pitching .

Nederland JV is now stacked with 2 new additions . A challenge to the varsity ?

One big guy is a junior and the other a senior. So this impacts next year also for Nederland . It is sad news . Huge powerful men can not be replaced . Nederland is a good team but losing 6'5" Vegas from last year's team and now these 2 bangers will hurt our chances to pound Central and Ozen . No way those 2 teams could have stood up to our muscle . Now, the tables are turned .

Kimler , Couron , and Washington have much more important business Saturday afternoon.  But, when they finally get on the court , no more skinny , weak Nederland  !

With Ozen players past history in all sports , that is no surprise .

Is there a team roster or picture of the players ?

The Tune man and the big Red head .  Word is that freshman Tyler Tune will return to Nederland next year . Big time 3 range with the height to get it off .  Also, English's back up post , Colton Weisbrod , is only a freshman .  Not just tall , but physical and knows the game .

They were amazing . The team played as a team !  Every one did his part and the guys really pumped each other up throughout the tourney .  I have watched a lot of youth sports over the last 10 years , but this team really impressed me .  Also, the coaches were superb .  Nederland , Port Neches , Groves , and Fannett should be very proud of them !

David ( the future Skywalker) Thompson from Chase High School in Shelby, North Carolina in 1971 . Playoffs against A.L. Brown High from Kannapolis., the home of Dale Earnhardt. Thompson had it all. Soft jumper , ball handling , and of course the skying. And I still believe the best the ACC ever had . Yes, better than that Carolina guy, on the shoes .
