Used to be games at Rice and Robertson stadium also. Not so much anymore. Part of the deal is districts building these super stadiums that the entire districts play in and they are priced just right for schools to play in. This is just my opinion.
with kirbyville not factored in to opponents W-L record, coldsprings combined opponets record is 42-54. obviously with kville its 54-54 though.
Your point is what? Are you trying to say Coldspring didn't play anyone except Kirbyville.

Top 5 Highschool Football Coaches from S. E. Texas
Ed Peveto, he turned young boys into young men. Sometimes coaching is not all about wins and loses. Even though he won. He was a father figure to a young man who did not have a father. A lot of young men from Orangefield owe their lives to this man. That is why we honor him with a scholarship to Orangefield kids in his name for the last 18 years. I would say he left his mark on us. We give two a year, one to a boy and girl. The scholarship is currently at $6,000.00 a kid.
I would have to second that. He touched many in Coldspring in his short time here before we lost him. -

With talk like that maybe Kirbyville should start airing up the roundballs. agreed. and kirbyville wants it more :D ;) guess coldspring needs to get the round balls out then :o coldspring had a fine season tho ! I'm really excited this game is going to happen. I felt we had a good shot at beating Kirbyville the first time around. It was looking good until after halftime when it was tied at 6. A couple of crucial fumbles and mistakes made the difference. One big factor for us was breaking in a brand new quarterback. West Orange dominated us for a few years and then last year we had a breakthrough. I'm hoping for that breakthrough to come next Friday against Kirbyville. Y'all have a very good team over their and should be respected. This will not be easy by any means. I think this could have easily been a semi-final game or quarter-final game. Good luck to both teams.

I think Coldspring takes it this time. I know both teams have improved since the first meeting, but what I saw tonight was very good defense, an offensive line that just blew the other team off the ball, and a running game that looked lights out. I wish they played this one in Lufkin or Nac would have been nice so I could go watch. Go Trojans

Coldspring ain't no pushover. They had a very tough game the first go around.
People are PREDICTING. That's what you do. Kirbyville is better than coldspring. Yet they could lose. Nobody denies that. Kville has better players/coaches if u ask me tho so I would say they SHOULD beat them. Again. Prolly worse than week one. WO-S is going to have Giddings come round two. That is prolly a better team than coldspring.
I think that Coldspring and Kirbyville are very evenly matched. It was a close game before and it will be a very close game the next time they meet if that is too happen. I do believe they will meet in the third round, but there are a few games before that. I think the coaching is very even also. I like are chances against Kirbyville if we meet again, but we have to take care of some other business first. -

I played for Coach Brian Barbay in the early 90's when he was at Coldspring. I know today he is very sad. My prayers are with him and his family. This same thing happened in Coldspring in 92 when we lost our Coach the great Ed Peveto. That year we went onto the 3A state championship game. Here A year ago or so I lost my coach that had taught me so many life skills that I did not realize at time, but now realize. Coach Moynahan took over for Coach Peveto and continued what he started. I hope that someone great carries on for Coach Barbay. I never knew him, but have heard plenty of stories. My heart goes out to the entire family players and coaches over their in Newton. Over here in Coldspring we will be there for ya Brian.

Coldspring at OF Predictions?
texaggies07 replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Don't know much about OF, but if we don't hold on to the ball better and tackle better we might be in trouble. We got lucky to get past Crockett with all the turnovers and poor tackling. I don't think we will get past OF like that. -
Kirbyville's extra point woes!!!
texaggies07 replied to bowhunter45's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I completely agree kicking them extra points are going to prove critical in the deeper rounds. Even possibly the ability to kick a short field goal to convert some points to keep momentum. We are not very good at kicking extra points neither over here in Coldspring. I don't think we have converter a half dozen in three years by kicking it. -
I got to tell u this is one tough district. I see a state champion coming out of here for sure. I'm not a fan of any of these teams, but to see what they have done in the early part of this season is amazing. Not to mention some of the teams that won titles last year are not looking very good. I know most will say there is a lot of football left to play, and there certainly is. From what I have seen so far though these three are gonna be tough to beat in the playoffs if they don't beat eachother up to bad in District.
