Bridge City failed to show up for their non district tilt with WO-S last night and the UIL is set file papers for failure to appear against the Cardinals. With the cancellation I went on and ran a simulated game with the Akrit program and it had WO-S 27 -Crosby 7. I know we can't enjoy watching or listening to the game but at least we know what would've happened.

Some people got what you call Cyclops Syndrome as they see things out of one eye. Instead of good game you played the probable state champion tough it's if the refs didn't help you would've got beat worse. Sometimes you have to shrug off the bottom line from some of these trolls.

Let's just hope it's dry for WOS sake. They got their hands full already but they will hang tough. Maybe they'll get lucky and get the same refs that saved them from a total smokedown at Newton. That is the bottom feeder line because Majestyk said so....

If Crosby doesn't get a bunch of penalties Manvel wouldn't have...if not for a dropped snap Crosby would have...if WO-S doesn't use a trick play they don't...right....if your aunt Gertrude had a mustache she'd be your uncle Fred. What about the other teams, you think they might have some ifs? Instead of giving credit you give an excuse. Next game try leaving the rose colored binoculars st the house. I don't know who wins this week. I'm sure Crosby will be favored. Just leave your capes on the bench.

Why listen to the game? According to a Crosby poster they will not lose another game. Against WO-S they will throw deep and if caught it's six. WO-S will not be able to handle that Crosby o-line firing off 40-50 times on running plays. Without trick plays and a bunch of Crosby penalties scoring will be rare for WOS. If not for a dropped snap the Manvel game would have been different. They should run the table in district. How did the pollsters and experts overlook these folks. I gotta go to this game now so I can tell my grandkids one day---I was there, I saw 'em.

I did see a flatbed load of crow heading towards West Orange yesterday. Stranger yet while up north later I saw 2 truckloads of buzzards taking the Newton exit. What's up with that?

Wasn't sure about all time record between these two. Usually is a good game. WO-S can do it but better bring their "A" game.

WO-S outlasts Newton in 8-OT marathon, 56-54. After a defensive 0-0 tie during regulation, both offenses woke up in overtime. The two behemoths matched scores to a 54-54 tie thru 7 OTs, including the required 2-point conversion after 2nd OT. Newton's defense stiffened and held the Mustangs on downs to start the 8th OT. The Eagles ensuing game winning FG attempt ended with a bad snap and kicker Hewell McDoole being tackled in the opposite end zone for a safety and a 56-54 WO-S victory. Elated WO-S coach Cornel Thompson said "I haven't seen anything like this since who flung the chunk, but we'll take it, that's a good team over there."

Does anybody remember the three straight turnovers by WO-S. What would the score have been with a few changes on that. It goes both ways.

Even Coach T said that could happen if WO-S doesn't correct a few things.

I always pull for the Eagles in every game except one. Got some friends up that way. Just can't help having fun going toe to toe with these guys sometimes.

I thought I sent you home yesterday. You got issues. WO-S only goes to the region finals instead of the state championship and are now not what they used to be. Problem is this year Newton isn't either and you can't handle it. And nobody else on these boards has ever walked it or been part of it but you. I'm guessing you played at one time, when I don't know but it had to be before no-pass--no-play. Looking for a good game from two good teams.

Almost got beat by LC-M? What are you, a clown? Whose side did you sit on at the game? It couldn't have been WO-S side because I would have noticed the brain activity coming from your head. I'm looking for a close game this week. Newton almost got beat by Silsbee until they pulled away in the second quarter plus they gave up 21 points. If Newton wants to win this game they better improve on defending the touchdown.
