  1. Both are studs, we are blessed. Comparisons are inevitable, let's just enjoy.
  2. It's not in me to run, but I gotta go. Take care of you and yours. Let's come back safe and let's play some football. Hey, we live in Southeast Texas, we can handle it. God Bless. See you on the back side.
  3. I love the way this guy runs, typical West Orange-Stark fabric, I think he missed the LaVega game, we could have used him, we might still be playing. Stay healthy guys, there aint enough of you to shake a stick at.
  4. I thought the pass defense was very good, tight coverage all night. The QB/receiver combo for Nederland is going to put up some numbers this year, thats a fact. Overall a well played 1st game, few penalties and no red zone brain freezes. Hopefully we get to play next week.
  5. I was impressed by the way both teams played, I think Nederland had 1 penalty and WO-S 2. WO-S didn't self destruct in the red zone. #9 was on Cardenas like a cheap suit all nite, the kid made his catches but he's going to because he is a stud, #9 may be the only man all year to cover him man to man. I didn't see him run past, then around the guy on the TD like someone said, it was blown coverage all the way, no one within 10 yards of the man. #21 and #3 for the Dogs are both bad to the bone and they will be ok, they had some starters out who will be back, Stangs also missing a starter or two, which is not good, I think I saw 25 silver helmets on the sideline before kickoff, but they can all play.
  6. True, but I can't identify the feature back for Texas at this time, maybe one will come to the forefront. But I would like to see this guy join the fray next year.
  7. Be careful where you go with that, there are people around that don't believe in bold predictions. It's just not done, you might have to eat some crow or something.
  8. Hope they are able to mow that field tomorrow, went by there today and grass was very high, too high for football anyway.
  9. Yeah, nothing like bringing a one game losing streak into the new season. Choklahoma does just that.
  10. I like that WO-S has scheduled a real test in a game like scrimmage. They may not see many, if any, teams of this caliber in the regular season. Dayton should also benefit and the starters will see a lot of action. Who wins is anybody's guess, this is for bragging rights and preseason hype anyway.
  11. I knew that might ruffle some feathers, I like WO-S in this one. And Aggie, I can have it anyway I want it.
  12. You people try too hard to not step on toes, WO-S wins this game hands down barring anything ridiculous from outer space, that is just my opinion. Either way both teams will have good years, both should/could win district titles. WO-S skill people are in place, maybe better than 2000 and thats saying alot. Week 0 is hard to judge in high school but WO-S is going to be hard to handle. Don't slam me if WO-S loses to Nederland, this could very well happen but my early money is on the Stangs. Talk to me.
  13. Good posts, Hypolite did have trouble with the longer passes but I hear that is going to be much better this year. If the guy had a weakness that was it, he should be much improved, plus he can afford some near misses, the guys going to get em are awesome and will make up for some of those errant throws.
  14. WO-S Quentin Tezeno (spell check) & Kevin Smith with Tremaine Lewis waiting close by. These guys spell jockey and chin straps on the carpet and six points on the board.
  15. I believe this Michael guy from WB is the man, Garrett however will do big things for the 'Stangs. I've learned my lesson, all I ever heard about years back was Chip Ambres, and then I got to see him play as a senior, the best I've ever seen in person, and still is so this day. Never got to see Vince Young, but I did see Reggie McNeal and others, Ambres is the best I've seen. My favorite tho is still Tremaine Lewis from WO-S, (87-88), there were better ones but this guy was a winner and the refrigerant running through his veins didn't hurt either. He got it done.
  16. I remember this, this is ridiculous a team from lower classification doing this. Some folks thought this team was the best in the state bar none. I have a hunch this years WOS team will be one to remember, hide and watch.
  17. A lot of great games for sure but WOS/Nederland should be awesome. This game may tell us a lot and as always will be well played and coached. The X Man is back.
  18. Every game in the area is being anticipated. Jasper-Gilmer and WO-S-Nederland should be good ones. If you've followed high school football for very long you realize that the first couple of weeks are very hard to predict. Some teams are slow starters, some overranked, some underranked but that is what makes it so interesting.
