He played very well this summer,I got to talk to him a pretty good bit this summer and he has worked hard on his game. A very good kid and coachable,and to me that makes a big differance.The last time I talked to him he was at the A&M bball camp.Again I do think he will be much better than he was in the past.

Kelon was #20. Pheal Hill wore #4. Dont Pheal have one more year AAW?

Nuthinbutnet did it say where the Brookland coach went to. If i am not mistaken I think the brookland coach is going to be at hemphill,where he was a grad. I may be wrong but thats what I was told by a few people.I also beleive this coach played for Stapert back when he was at Hemphill.Good to see you back on here Nuthinbutnet ;D ;D

I think Spurger & SP will be dog fights again this year,But when Mcgallion and Whittaker went down with injuries last season a few kids steped up off the JV and got the job done.Remember Spurger won at their place with Whittaker not playing,also remember this name(Shain Rawls) he will be 1st team all district this year along with the other three first teamers.JMO Evadale will be much,much better this year and could shock a few teams along the way and you can't ever count out Hull either,their all ways very athletic.

I think they will be just fine this year,maybe not as strong as the past but they will be fine.Dont for get they have one of the best coaches in the area.BS has a 6'5" kid playing down low and a 6'2" SG that will be there stand outs this year. This is what I got out of seeing them play this summer.

I like this one myself,you can run it full or half court to change things up. If the kids can get the rotation down it can be very effective.

Finally back on track ;D ;D Good assessment shortteaxs1, I agree,the only way he will see playing time this season is if coach Barnes goes to a three guard line-up.

Yep, and I'll be there broadcasting the game. This will be the first time Silsbee has officially played Spurger in any sport. I hope the Spurger fans come and watch. Silsbee JV did play Spurger's varsity a long time ago, it wasn't too pretty either. I was on that JV squad(see I really meant a long time ago) and we beat Spurger very badly that night. Something like 104-34, not sure exactly, but it was bad. I hope its a better game than that was.It might not be a good one to broadcast,from our stand point ;)

Silsbee did play that game without their three big guys. Also, Spurger had two of Big Sandy's players playing for them. Silsbee did play without the two 6'7'' guys,but DC came in half way through the first half.The two BS boys scored 6 points combined.Mcgallion,Whittaker and Blankenship done the scoreing the whole tourney for spurger.It would have been a different game altogether with the two big guys playing,we would have had major match up problems.That being said,I am proud of the way they handle there self against the bigger clubs. Don't get me wrong, court, I was very impressed with your squad. I just thought the 3 point loss was a little decieving. Also, some of the games I saw, those two BS guys did a lot more scoring than just a combined 6 points. I know of one game that at least one of those guys scored 15 or more. The Anahuac varsity coach and I were discussing how good a player he was. Overall, I thought your team played the best team ball of any team there. A team had to play well in order to beat you guys. There were no freebies. I did not take the wrong way,the 6 points combined was in the silsbee game.I should have made that a little more clear.Christian is a very good player and i was not trying to take anything away from him or trey,if they wouldnt have came to help us out we would have had to back out of the tourney.He did score 14 against anahuac. I agree it was a little decieving, (maybe more than a little) :)

I dont know who was missing or who was playing that was not supposed to be playing,they looked like the two best teams playing thursday.My little girl plays on a jr high team so maybe I was blinded by real hitting at V level.

I got a chance to get over to buna to day and watch the games,all the teams are even except for the Evadale (A) team and Kirbyville,clearly the two best teams in the summer league.These two teams are going to be tough in there districts,good luck to all the girls
