4.
I believe they're every bit of 6'6". I'm right at 6'2 and those guys are easily 4" taller than me. I'd also say DC is around 6'3-1/2 or so and Prentice is every bit of 6'2 maybe a little over.
Just throwing my two cents in, Whittaker in spurger is a legit 6'3" and DC stands a little taller than him. The twin towers was a good 3 or 3.5 inches taller, and Lane is about the same height.
 5. I say Spurger by 5 Just because I know not a thing on yorktown besides whats on maxprep ;D
 6. Maybe he thinking of DC, heard he was a monster on the boards last game.

 9.
Tigers get the nod as long as they stay as far away from Lufkin as possible, strange things can happen when you play them at their place .
;D ;D ;D

 11.
Spurger played well on both ends.  Somerville did a real poor job of rebounding.  Shot selection was terrible......and I don't remember how many silly turnovers there were.  You are right.....Somerville looked confused and I do not know why.  Worst game I have seen them play all year....and since we are on an Andy Griffith trip.....Somerville really used that one bullet to shoot themselves in the foot.  Guys throwing up 3 pointers that never shoot them.  I was disappointed that this was not a better game than it turned out to be but that is the way it goes.  And as I had stated before....not sure which Somerville team was going to show up.  Now we all know. Good luck Spurger! If you end up facing Mumford, get out your track shoes. I thought Medina would beat Yorktown but I was wrong.  I was real sure that Mumford would be there as well as Sabinal. I am off to Austin Friday morning for the 1A-1 regionals.
Spurger done a good job all year of taking the running game away from running teams.Their shot selection(IMOP) was bad because Whittaker blocking Shots on the inside,And Rawls Staying in #10's face. #10 for somerville is the best shooter for them by far. And I think the coach for somerville stayed with the press to long,if you press Spurger Mcgallion will pick you apart.A lot of easy baskets, enough of that, what can you tell me about Yorktown? CenTexScout -look me up friday,I would like to talk to about some of the other teams.(bald guy with my head painted.)it was a dare!!!
 12. I see it being close untill late 4th then Silsbee pulls away by 10. To much of the bigs down the wire.

 14.
This is also Silsbee's 5th appearance in the regional tourney in these 6 years of being in class 3A, with 3 regional final appearances in those previous 4 trips. The Tigers are looking to make it 4 regional final appearances in 6 years. ;) ;D
Well yall have a fan base just north of you thats backing your team and wants to see that 4th appearances ;)
 15.
what was the score??
57 -- 37
 16.
Anahuac, nobody was looking at you guys this year at making the regional tourney as all eyes were on Kountze this year. Now the Panthers are in the regionals repping 23-2A. Congrats Coach West and the Panther players and make us proud at regionals. I will say that I expected the Spurger Pirates to be right where they are, in the regional tourney. Coach Issacs and his Pirate team have played well all season long while dealing with the injury bug practically all season long. Now with Spurger almost completely healthy, you got to like their chances of making it to the state tourney. Congrats Spurger on your season so far and let's keep it rolling!
Congrats Anahuac,I can addmit that I was one of those guys overlooking you and had my eye on KTZ.Glade you showed me and every one else not to overlook any team thats in the playoffs.Keep it going guys Spurger i am so proud of you boys and the coaching staff, not only for the victories this season but the way you handled yourself in adversity on and off the court. The team first attitude yall have is a joy to watch as a fan.Keep it up guys and follow that young coach that you have and you will reach your goals.
 17.
Congrats to these two fine teams for making it 4 straight years to the regional tourney. Now let's get those wins Friday night and guarentee another 21-3A team to the state tourney for the 5th consecutive year!!!
WOW! 4 straight years at the regional tourney, AWESOME Great job Silsbee and HJ boys and coaches

 20. Just a reminder to all Spurger fans, Last one out turn out the lights ;D ;D ;D Will be a ghost town for a few hours tonight!!! ;) ;)
 21.
Tonights scores: Silsbee 70 WOS 61 Hardin Jefferson 59 Cleveland 73 Kountze 73 New Waverly 66
I agree with the silsbee/kountze, dont see HJ losing by more than 3 to 5 points
 22. AAW and COOP great stuff, on the money like allways Great job guys ;)
 23.

HJ has the tougher match up, Although......... Silsbee, who has been sluggish the last 3 games, has to beat WOS for the third time this year.  Not an easy task.  Other than the Orangefield debacle, WOS has been on a roll as of late. Kountze should match up well with New Waverly.  I think Kountze should come out the winner on this one. One thing about HJ is that they are so easily underestimated.
How come HJ is underestimated with the track record that they have.
Just watch them in warmups.  They don't have anywhere near the "style or flash" that other teams show.  Or the height and jumping ability.  When I watch them warm up, and then watch the other teams (aka Kountze and Silsbee), part of me wonders "how in the world we can keep up with these guys".  The fans from other teams have expressed the same feeling. The players got to feel the same thing. Let's also look at Cleveland.  Returning all their starters (except for the guy that bailed to Kingwood (or Atoscacita... whatever).  Meanwhile HJ loses their leading scorer.  That spells trouble for HJ, in the minds of the Cleveland players.
No, the HJ players don't feel the same thing.  The HJ Coaches will not let the HJ team beat itself with negative attitude.  If HJ loses it will have been a war - not because they were intimidated by the other team.
I'm sorry.  I didn't mean the HJ team.  Those kids don't let nothing intimidate them.  I remember in 2007, when they made their state run, their average deficit in their 6 (or 7) play-off games was something like 14 points.  That's a mountain of a deficit that you've got to climb out of each game. What I meant was, the other team's players, like Cleveland, have got to feel that they can beat these guys up and down the court. It's always funny how, what I THINK I'm saying, and what actually comes out, can be two entirely different things!
I too see what you meant, My son being from a small school their team gets that a lot. HJ just has such a great b-ball history and coaching staff it was hard for me to see any team underestimate them.
