I guess I stand corrected on the 40 point outputs ;D -
I'd be happy if we got 42....surprised but happy!

ROT you've finally showed up man!! Don't worry I'm still drowsy from my pre-football season slumber as well. Backflipper don't hit the panic button on me yet...Good luck to both teams and hopefully we'll have a meaningful game in the near future so we can really get the smack talk rollin'. 18 though?? It's a 20 yard field goal....doesn't Lumberton have a really good soccer team???? Can't someone kick a football 20 yards??? Wait this coming from a fan who's team has 1 field goal since I can remember...but it was one heck of a field goal!!! PS - ROT....something tells me the "soda" I'm buying you might have some soda in it..... PSS - Are there really no Dugat's in Dayton Football right now??? Something doesn't feel right about that... -
It's early in the season with a new QB....well pretty much a new offense in terms of the skill players. I would expect some early season bumps and things will be pretty well worked out by district play. I'm going to miss the 35-0 halftime scores of the past few years however:(.
-
I would expect Bay City to be pretty descent. Judging by what I've seen thus far, Dayton will have a hard time putting up the 40 points/game that we've been spoiled by over the past 3 seasons. Hopefully we'll get some consistency out of the QB spot and find some playmakers at receiver. Defense looks pretty stout though.

Lumberton Vs Dayton Scrimmage

ROT that state championship game thread was pretty big last year....but I'll agree that a Lumberton/Dayton playoff game would be huge. Get my first look at both teams tonight.... From what I hear if Dayton can find a QB they're possibly as good as they've ever been....we'll see. Hope to see everyone there... -

Heck yea I am....you mean there are other times of year?? I have no idea, I haven't seen the schedule yet but we've got the same season tickets as always so I'm sure I'll be there. Plus the wife now teaches at CE King (traitor). Don't fight it man...they were cowboys in brokeback mountain too.... -

Oh boy how I've missed football season and look who's up first....the mighty Baby Blue Raiders. ROT - what's up with your boy here?? Oh and glad to see you're still on here after my summer break Backflipper - Looking forward to another great season....if you'd get your head out of Rodeo you could hit a few of the non-playoff games this year BMF - Where the heck are you? Oh and in response....well what can you say to this but laugh and be embarrassed for ROT....he has to live there. -

Have to agree with you on this one...should cost "school board" members their positions. 5 in 5 years says there's something wrong with the process or with the situation. Especially when you get someone in who ears a playoff trip and seems to be getting things headed in the right direction...we finally found a school board WORSE than West Orange Cove... -
This may be true...Coach Stewart has OWNED Crosby since he got here. What's he 13-1 against them?
-
Crosby looks pretty tough...may have a chance to end their 10 year losing streak (or whatever it is). No telling what's going to happen with North Forest (although can someone get their old band director back in there please). BH may sneak in there. Probably going to be a competetive (and relatively weak) district next year. My guess is Dayton until proven otherwise.
-
surely you jest.......if not then set the date big boy---we are patient We've only been waiting since what 1989??
-
Are you kidding...Kribaby Bellows?? Granted I've only seen him play in a loss against Lumberton and a loss against Dayton, but the kid gets confused too easily and doesn't seem to be able to read his progressions. He misses too many open receivers and doesn't like to get hit. Tell me please that SETX will have a better QB than him. I've never seen the Johnson kid from Silsbee but if all I hear is true then he seems to be the best bet.
-
Did anyone in Dayton really even care???? Are you kiddin' Russ?? How many Dayton vs. Liberty fights were there at the Sonic when you were in HS?? That rivalry was nasty...

Innocent until proven guilty yes....pattern of behavior that wouldn't withstand the "Personal Conduct Policy" TBD. Where there's smoke there's usually fire. Can he pull it together and be a productive member of society...who knows?? Funny I was just reading the Maurice Clarett prison blog....maybe someone should tell this kid to read that or go see good ol' #13. -
Used to be a great rivalry (since it's the rivalry between two sister towns). Good to see the rivalry with BH finally started back up...granted it might be one sided for the near future but it's still a rivalry. I doubt Coach Stewart would want to spend a non-district game on it though...that guy would schedule the Texans if he could in non-district.

Who is this Brett_Reeves guy...thinks he knows something about football.

News Flash - It has been played in cold weather, and it very well could happen again. just curious when was the last time. most the time when it's played in a cold weather city... it's played in a dome... More fan friendly and one reason it's fan friendly is because the offenses are able to go full throttle. I don't ever remember a cold weather Superbowl. Miami, San Diego, Tampa, New Orleans, with Houston, Detroit (dome), and Atlanta given the occassional bone. Not exactly what I would call cold weather...
-
Again, last time I checked, scoring more points than the other team wins championships. Having a great offense, defense, and special teams help. News Flash - The Superbowl will never be played in cold weather.

The NFL will never adapt either the Texas Tech model nor the Spread Option eventhough the Wild Cat formation has made an appearence on several teams. The TT model doesn't eat up clock and the SO gets the QB's killed--unless they start playing touch when it comes to tackling the QB. Anyway, I'm on Joe T's side in this debate... I don't recall ever saying anyone would adopt the TT offensive model in the NFL. I simply said that Joe T is probably the biggest idiot covering sports today...slightly ahead of Joe Morgan. Variations of the spread offense are already in the NFL but it seems no one wants to go "unconventional" because the spread offense can't work in bad weather, can't control the clock, blah blah blah. Bill "the hoodie" seems to have a variation of the spread working pretty well up in New England last time I checked. It puts the defense at a disadvantage doing something they don't normally do on first and second downs. Go back and watch the Superbowl and notice what happens when Arizona starts running 3 and 4 wide receivers and the no huddle. The main point that Heisman Theisman made was that QB's don't have the fundamentals in the spread offense to run an NFL offense. He cited 2 recent successful rookies who came out of pro-style offenses in college and the failures of Alex Smith who came from the spread. I just think that what type of offense you played in during your college career will not predict your success in the NFL. Brett Favre - wishbone; David Carr - Pro style college offense; Joey Harrington - Pro style college offense...maybe it's just that two of these players sucked and one of them didn't regardless of their college offense.
