We were talking about Craig Way doing football and basketball. We all know who Milo Hamilton is...lost his skills in the past few years?? I've had instances where I've had to call people I knew were watching the game while I was in the car listening on the radio to find out what happened on some plays. "Holy Toledo" and his home run calls will forever stay with me but the man lost it there at the end.

That's good...they can replace Smiley/Forest Brook game...

We've also come up with the highly original stomping our feet on the metal stands to make a lot of racket. Problem is we usually do this when our team has the ball running the no huddle and trying to call the play at the line. We're not the smartest lot... We've also used the highly original "We're #1" on occassion.

I agree, this is fantastic! An aloof school board and/or administration that self presumes to be above listening to the public, doesn't serve that public who elected them. Just simply listening to the public is not a threat to a board. In fact, I believe it should be SOP. I applaud LC-M, too. You may need to run for office yourself! You've got my vote...unfortunately I don't live in Winnie but my cousin does and I know the Frosts pretty well:).

Tell us how you really feel...I have heard that Milo isn't the nicest guy around. I don't listen to or watch basketball anymore so I'll have to take your word on that. I do think he calls a football game pretty well...the A&M announcer (name?) has a better voice but he screws up too much. Speaking of...how many times was the Natl. Champ. crew going to tell us about how good a guy Tim Tebow was? Oh, and please pay attention to what down it is inside the 5.

The topic isn't about whether schools win or lose in the deal. That's a whole 'nother topic in itself.

It's not about whether the university made money or not. It's the student/athlete didn't fulfill his commitment and took the spot of someone who would. How do you penalize someone for not fulfilling their commitment...know any other way besides you pay back what was given to you? There should be some kind of penalty for leaving EARLY. Why should they be anymore commitment than the coach,If someone offers them a million more they are out of there in a flash. The coaches have contracts and they get out of them.So why should some kid have to pay anything back.There are no guarantees. Coaches have buyouts to get out of the contract

I think the student-athlete owes his college for paying for his/her education. If the school is willing to settle for we'll pay your college if you play for us on a year by year basis then what can you do. Most schools receive public funding of some type. I just think you make a commitment to graduate when you accept an athletic scholarship from a school. If you graduate in 3 years and want to go pro then great. I don't think the standards are high enough for players or coaches for that matter. By no means am I saying the school has no culpability either but that's another topic. Contracts and commitments don't seem to mean what they used to.
