I don't know how hard the wind was blowing because I wasn't there, but take away the wind and he still probably runs the area's fastest time. Being in 3A, if he continues to put up fast times like this one, we could be seeing the next state 100m champion from this area.

That state record wasn't run though with a 25mph tailwind. I think +2.4? may be the allowable wind. Also, state records have to be run at the state meet for some reason.

NAIA isn't NCAA though. NCAA is way tougher than NAIA.

I have a question. You are making all of these fencing topics...is there anybody from this area in any of these results. This says Eastern Connecticut Championships and this is Southeast Texas. Just wondering if anybody from the area competes in any of the categories you have listed.

I definitely think that they will do that. I'm not sure that we will see any thing like the Brannen-Bean duels of a few years ago, where they went 4:21 and 4:22, but I think they can both get under the 4:30 mark.

I wasn't there, but from looking at the times and from what I heard the 1600 was a great race between Tim and Joe. These two are going to put up some good times this year.

Coach, I agree that training for summer races and running too much speed would be bad for a distance runner. I do think though, that getting mileage in and showing up for a meet and just using it as a workout is a good way to maintain speed from track season. Also, good luck to you and your runners this season. I saw that some of your girls ran some fast times early at an indoor meet.

That is pretty impressive. I think we will see some great performances from this area this year.

I wouldn't call yesterday ideal weather conditions. The wind was blowing very hard against the homestretch. I think we could have seen a lot faster times had the wind not been a factor. Also, if that was a 10.7 into that wind, that is very impressive.
