  9. You are correct coop, 7:30 at Lumberton next Friday!
  10. I think your wrong about the Crosby vs. Nederland game, Not saying that Nederland will win, but the score will be much closer! I say whoever wins, wins by a touchdown or less!

  12. The rule is the team winning the coin toss gets the first option of offence or defence. The losing team chooses which end of the field. Or the winning team can choose the end of the field and let the losing team have the option of offence or defence. On the second OT the team that lost the coin flip gets their option of offence, defence, or which end of the field. Not sure who won the toss or what their option was because I was in Lumberton! But this is the way the OT is decided. High School starts at the 25 yd line and each team gets a shot at scoring until one team comes out on top. On the third OT the teams must try for the 2 point conversion after the score. I know this does not clear things up for what happened in Port Neches, but this is the rules!
  13. Last night was the cleanest, most respectable game I have had all year long. The coaches of these two programs have the most disciplined kids I have seen all year. Thank You for a memorable game and thank you coaches for the job you have done with these kids! My hat is off to you and your program!
  14. HJ has decided to split their 16 player JV team and form a freshman team!
  15. Thank You! Somebody needed to say that!
  16. Good Luck to both teams in the mud pit, called several jr high games at nederland this year and my cleats kept sticking in the mud on the pivot! Nederlands field is in horrible shape and I see a low scoring game after it rains all night Thursday night and most of the day Friday!
  17. The entire SETX Football Officials chapter is praying for you son! Keep your chin up!
  18. Not saying they will get in, it will be very tough for them with the injuries they have had this year! But with three games left against Livingston, Vidor, and Lumberton you can't count Larry Neuman and the Bulldogs out of the playoffs just yet! I have seen Larry do some unbelievable things with teams that should have been down for the count!
  19. Lazeek your always causing trouble!
  20. i THINK i SAW A dpi IN ONE OF THOSE PHOTOS! lol
  21. Why because WOS blew out the weakest team in the district last night! I am not calling WOS mediocre either, I am just saying that there are other teams in this district that are improving and can give WOS a run for the money!
  22. To all the Ref bashers out there! And I am not saying this because of something that I read or didn't like! I am saying this because I know you are out there and it is easy to blame poor officiating for your teams loss! Anyway just some news coming down from a pretty reliable source! It will be brought to UIL Legislation on Oct. 28 and 29 a recommendation for UIL to absorb all sports officiating in the great state of Texas and that TASO (Texas Association of Sports Officials) will not be recognized by the UIL as an officiating organization in this state. The talk around the state is that if this happens a lot of the football officials will retire and no longer officiate football. This means that on Thursday nights when you show up to watch your kids play Sub-Varsity football, you may see the coaches out on the field officiating the game due to the shortage of officials. Also UIL is proposing to go to National Federation football rules rather than NCAA rules that the schools have been playing under forever in our great state. But its not just football, its all sports that the UIL plans on taking over. The money hungry people that are putting 4 teams from a 6 team district in the playoffs so that they can get their 15% cut from the gate. And you thought it was to get more kids exposure for college scholarships! Its all about the money! You see if UIL takes over the officiating then the officials that stick around will be paying their annual dues to the UIL. Also for you coaches reading this, you will no longer have any say so who your officials are going to be during the playoffs! You may get Joe Bobs crew from El Paso calling your game in Houston and your out the expences of travel and whatever else the UIL comes up with for you to spend money on! And they don't care because they get their 15% off the top of the gate reciepts before anyone else gets paid! 99.9 % of everything that is brought before UIL legislation gets passed and will happen! All I can say is good luck to all the school districts, coaches, players, and parents! If this happens, you may really have a reason to gripe about the officiating. Because all of the veteran officials that keep the rest of the crew straight on Friday Nights with their pregame conferences and on field conferences are going to retire and your going to be stuck with some 2 and 3 year officials wearing a white hat and calling your games on Friday Nights! This is just my opinion of what you have to look forward to in the future! Once again good luck in the future if their is one!
