Offshore once again 6-15 on a 12 hr 60-80 mile trip w/galveston party boat the New Buccaneer.It was a windy day w/some swells to 6' & steady 5's.We made the best of it but w/a stiff current and 82 anglers aboard it was a tangled mess most of the day.Fish caught that were legal length about 30 snapper w/2 over 10# and the rest small.7 kingfish-2 over 20#-1 warsaw grouper 24#.Alot of lost fish that cut mono leaders.We moved locations about 5 times and could not find real good action @ any.We had plenty of tacos(breakfast) that more than a doz.folk spewed out for chum early ride out first 40 mi or so then winds decreased a little.It was a bust out there today ::) :o 8)

Nutin against the columbia blue just could not stand Bud Adams.Nobody ever said they hated Hou.Madison in the Vince Young era and they wore it.BOT-Congrads to Mt.Belview on gettin any color turf. I seem to prefer it because I believe there's no advantage in sloppy conditions like grass but I never slid across turf to get a rug burn or some black pebbles in my eye  ::) 8) :D

Offshore Freeport report for sat.6-11 from 68 miles se from Quintana jetties.BH 89-2 and his boat w/4 aboard.Catches-1 150#bull shark-1 5'wahoo 37.8#-1 warsaw grouper 32#-2 aj's 22-30#-2 ling 22-28# 1-24# red snapper & 6 other red snapper 8-16#-2 kingfish 8-10#-a few chicken dolphin but the porpoises kept shutting down the fishing around the seaweed beds floating.We also got 100# mono leaders cut off after a brief tug o war at least 10 times.Our contractor size wheel barrow was heaping waiting for the filet table.You get a chance to go and share exp. for under $200 w/bait and rods/tackle furnished it's worth the great exp.Note: We saw 2 boat loads of brave or crazy fishermen out 68 mi.in no more than 19'bay boats w/single outboards and no cover top for shade.NOAA report said 5-10 se wind becoming calm w/1'seas and we had 10-15 all day w/3'swells close together.Man they never get it right but none the less a great trip for our party.

Went to the HS this afternoon and asked a coach about Jak.Was told he had another surgery to have pins removed recently.He's been working out the upper body functions.As for the move in from Liv.he will be a soph.@ 6'-190 @ best from good sources but he must undergo some serious workouts that he has not been to happy about by word of mouth to make this team.It's no cakewalk @ DHS to be a Bronco and 1st ya gotta commit w/o gripping about the program.He'll be ok and he seems willing now.Graduating seniors will be missed but have some re-arranged players who'll share duties @ nose.Off.will be good n quick,not as big @ LB but more atheletic,secondary will be prolly the best in a few years w/lots exp and speed.Will go to the weight room nxt week and see what we look like ;)

True dat but on the other hand da man dat recruited him for the school may have made some promised opportunities that did not happen as stated.As for Cody's case it's not a case of grades that's making a change in schools ;)

To Cool fishing site posters say the same about east galv.bay to trinity bay and everywhere in between but have not seen nor heard of the Texas Parks & Wildlife dept.make a statement about the causes for all the dead fish lately or if it's safe to consume your catches from these areas.

Gimme a break BH has got plenty of talent for years by having big oil/refineries/plants.Need talent= open position w/$$$$$ for transfers.But we get our share too by big rice/soybean farmers & a facility to house non violent criminals but the real talent here comes from those big farm boys who play football to get out of milking,cleaning stalls,plowing on tractors w/o a cab ::) ;D ;D ;D

It could be purple turf if you use the same contractor that built Dayton & Cleveland High school.Yep they did they put red brick on the front of DHS and purple on CHS ;D  ;)

6-4-11 Rollover report-Low water,no tide movement,off color water=empty cooler even w/lights.Left @ 2:00 am drove to Ft.Anahuac park lighted pier,again real low water level and dead baitfish,flounder,rat reds,and others and a awful stinch.Went over to the Trinity river boat ramps there @ daybreak and the water was silver w/dead fish churned up by boats launching .Literally thousands of pinfish types lay all over the mud along the shores.I would not wanna be around after today.Guess the low tides,heat,lack of current,and a over population depleted the oxy levels.

Sterling Griffin late 40's had several 5 td games and multiple 3 td games then went to Lamar on a scholarship and played on the team w/Bum Phillips then transferred to Baylor.Got married,fathered a son that ended the football career but ignighted a long successful golf career.For yrs.Liberty co. folks said he was special.In bad health currently @ 82.

Thing is he's big,tall,fast and could play many positions if given a chance anywhere @6'4-235#.Smart enuff to learn quickly ;) ;)

Nothing to envy I figure if we can't score 1 td but get inside the 30-8 times that's 24 pts.and prolly enuff on turf or grass :D

I can't help you as I've never fished the area in question incl.Sabine Pass or the lake.Not that I wouldn't like to but having never wet a line there & I wish I knew a little about the area to go try sometime.Fish alot from Anahuac to H.Island/Bolivar.I have a generator w/2 1,000 watt stage floodlights give me a shout and we'll give it a try sometime.

Spend a little time on the lake w/a good fish locator and you'll likely find structure.I know of 5 tournament fisherman that every year after Christmas sink hundreds of left over xmas trees near creek channels,just out from boat docks and near rip rap areas.Rip rap holds fish early & late so give it a try.Flip the boat docks for a few bass.Good luck

Barbers Hill has had a cpl.state runs w/the pigskin in their day but now ya can't even find the town on a map.Now Mont Belview is known for petroleum products and lots of gas so they slide in to the playoffs in a weak dist.and go out like a old car hitting on 3 cylinders and always remind us they live in a much better town,their median income is higher,their homes are better,their living in the promised land of mineral wealth among salt domes(huge underground storage tanks)w/big flares @ times.Who knows the empty skillet ranch in Moss Hill may 1 day have beachfront property.You call it Envy,I call it living on the edge  ::)
