And to think a short time ago La Marque was almost ready for the UIL to move them down to 3A as enrollment numbers were very close.Way to go Coogs got that swagger rollin again ;) 8)

For MVP recognition purposes let's do a comparison;2008-2010 (3 yrs)D.Merka threw for a tot. 4,571 yds=48%=34 tds=24 ints. Merka rushing 2008-2010=383 for 2,714 tot.yds=7.1 per=26 tds.(Just in the year 2008 alone Cody Green MVP passed for 3,195 yds=64.97%=37 tds=6 ints  rushing totals=1,506=25 tds.Now thats a whopping total of 4,701 combined yds.w/62 tds for 1 friggin year)While Merka was valuable to the Coogs the #'s aren't impressive and he never was better in the dist.than 2nd to 5th place in the stat column for ea.of 3 years.I like the kid but td to int. ratio for a 3 yr.career QB passing=34 tds to 24 ints.Nuff said he never had alot of support@Crosby 8)

Disagree put Merka on Dayton's team we prolly go to state the past 2 yrs.The guy had very little [email protected]'m not ragging on #8 but the run threat is not there plus he fumbles alot when running and hit.3 times in the La Marque game.I saw Merka vs.PNG early and he put it in the breadbasket I can't tell you how many times and they didn't catch it.He even threw a bullet 30 yds and hit the wr in the endzone and knocked him off his feet=no catch.I don't get a vote but I'll bet he's the offensive MVP.Anybody want to bet a pink shirt that he doesn't win it ;D ;D
