DAYTON'S A.J. DUGAT KICKED OFF UH TEAM BY SUMLIN
liltex replied to SETXSPORTSJUNKIE's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Real story is and was the fact the player and the OC did not get along well and the player told him he would not wear the uniform next year so they parted ways. The university can give any reason they want but I'm told this today from a very reliable source and I know him to be a very honest person. He then told me of Cameron LaCour's (2008 RB/DB Dayton)big win in track @UH track/field event recently this evening @ his home in Dayton. -

If my memory serves me correctly and far as I know it does"Weren't these 2 players released from the Coog team the very same 2 that got their helmets stolen after the fan onslaught on the field and thousands intermingled in the middle of it all during the celebration. That incident probably started the attitude problem as coaches wanted them to pay for the helmets. Not making a excuse for either but we probably don't know enuff to chat about facts or fiction. -
WOS Mustangs should have a real good team again.Looking at the 2009 scrimmage roster vs.Dayton I only counted 11 seniors.Lot of youth there so I pick em to be pretty good for several years.

Looking deep inside the 2010 Broncos I see some lack of seniors & juniors from the 2009 roster although the returning players got alot of experience going 4 games deep in the playoffs.Last year we had 19 seniors w/many 3 & 4 yr.starters-14 juniors-7 soph.-1 freshman kicker so without any new or move in's-or transfers this team will have only 14 seniors-7 jrs.-1 soph plus whatever class players move up from JV and freshman teams. In comparison to teams like FWood.-Angleton-PNG's out there that field 25-30 seniors nearly every year. But Dayton finds ways to continue winning every year w/young talent. To win the district outright on paper would be a tall order but the coaching staff seems to bring out the best in these kids year after year.I like the Broncos chances but how healthy will they be after the rugged pre-dist.schedule ahead of them.Always believe.

I pray he figures things out very soon and wish him the knowlege to pursue his dreams whatever they are.Talented as a football player is not as important in life as having a career minded goal to reach for.Hope he makes better decisions and turns things around. -

Within a rock throw from Walmart/Chili's Liberty is a fairly new place called Pinchers-N-Tails.Great gumbo, etoufee, crawfish in season, try the boudin and last but not least crawfish sausage it's mighty good. -
Sometimes you get lucky w/a rifle like mine-Win.model XTR 25-06.First time I shot it on a 200 yd.target once sighted in you could shoot 5 quick rounds and cover them w/a silver dollar. No spread from heated bbl.Rep.from Carters Country tried to buy it from me and said he knew the intials of the gunsmith that tooled the rifling.Being a meat hunter I love to make head shots as good scopes and marine corps rifle training helps game die quickly.Once took 5 deer and 2 big hogs in less than 30 min.on a exotic hill country lease one morning about 10:00 am.The other early risers(7)of them saw nothing early.Full moon night before.I left the deer camp after 9:00 a.m and walked a ways to a hilly revine w/a pond.A lg.rock had a nice mesquite w/a fork just perfect for a rest as I could see at least 5 differant game trails leading to the water hole.Found out later no other water source on 8,000 ac.Shared the kill evenly w/all.I can attest to it that my biggest game has been taken in remote areas near water, thickets close by oak flats towards the middle of the morning when most hunters have gone home or at camp and the woods are quiet.I've found the deer get the lg.whiteoak acorns first, red oak acorns then the rest in se texas.Anybody else ever seen any cow oak acorns? Some in the Trinity river bottom between Lib/Dayton.They are as big as wh.oak acorns but the hull almost covers the entire acorn.Deer love em.

Seems every year some teams get new kids that move in or transfer for academic reasons so it will be interesting to see if any coaches newly hired have kids playing as well. And maybe some teams future star relocates with job markets as it stands weak at present.

My pick-ems-Central-LCM-PNG-Ned for the 4 playoff spots.Who's healthy near end of district play will determine winner and runner-up.

Hippy one of my Nam marine buddies,a lawyer in Memphis was on a bigtime cookoff team that cooked every year near downtown Memphis in May BBQ cookoff on the edge of the mighty Mississippi River.Over 2,000 cook teams w/half doing the whole hog and very little beef.At his home w/5 ac.off the side of a creek bed he must have 100 or more big sassafras trees and he knew nothing about them. Now he uses a little bit when bbq meat.He called and told me the sassafras works great toward the end of the cooking. On another note dry the leaves in a dehydrator or low oven temp and you have your gumbo file' powder when ground.

TOUGHEST NON^DISTRICT SCHEDULE SO FAR??

Lots of hopes on the fresh-soph-jr.class @Broncoland for 2010 w/@ present 14 seniors - 5 less than 19 in 2009.Friendswood/Angleton graduate 29 seniors from 2009 class. -
Bluedove alot of country folks prefer wild hog over tame domestic hogs although many will cross them. The wild hog meat is much darker in color and has no chemicals or manmade injections to help it grow bigger faster. Some local fish markets in Liberty used to sell the meat.TPWD claims Texas has a bigger hog population than deer.A sow can have a litter after 3 mo.21 days and can have 9 or more pigs twice a year. They are survivors and are not affected by a poisonous snake bite. They will eat the snake.

Oops sorry-should have posted topic in hunting. The thing about boar hogs is to dress them quickly without cutting open any inner parts-remove breeding parts slowly and carefully.Get in a hurry and he'll piss on you and the meat.I season my sausage overnight in a cooler bagged on ice to keep the water out then grind/stuff hang in the smokehouse using red oak/pecan and near the end a few small pieces of sassafras.Sassafras puts a red color on the skin and an outstanding taste.Use only the trunk-save the root for tea and drink on hot days-it will cool you off as sassafras tea makes your blood thinner.Oldtimers say don't drink the tea in winter,it will make you colder.Wish we had some sassafras tea back in 2 adays and Nam.

Here @ the Empty Skillet Ranch between Moss Hill And Batson I'm seeing and taking several lg.hogs.Shot the 1st 250 # boar only 35 yds.off my front porch w/Benelli 12 ga.pump 3 1/2" mag.00 buck.Gut full of turnip greens and corn so next evening went to the deer feeder to check up on things when another barr hog ran at me popping his tusks w/hair on end so I gave him a dose of buckshot @ 25 yds.and knocked him back a few inches. This hog had been fighting and lost an ear and 1/2 a tail w/other marks. The barr weighed 210 lbs w/lg/sharp tusks. That was a first for me to have a mad charging wild hog coming full speed ahead at me so I will be very careful to observe and move slower in heavy cover from now on.While feeding cattle the 3rd evening saw 2 more hogs w/1 being bigger than the other 2 previously killed.Did not have my gun so I guess the river/backwater along w/all the hardwood logging has got em moving and searching for food.Smoked sausage is in the making now w/quartered pork iced down in coolers w/a little vinegar that takes out the wild taste.Keep em on ice w/the drain cap open also takes out the blood after 3 days.Try this on your next hunt.

Humble not in 19-4A.

To be nominated is a great honor in itself and you could make a case for Ford easily but JJ touches the pigskin every single play and sets the tempo for his team.I look at it like who could help every team the most in SETX.I don't vote just a retired outsider who loves HS football.
-
.500 record might get you a spot.I doubt there will be any undefeated teams when district ends.I'm thinking this could be one of those years where 4-5 teams could whup up on another any friday night. Some big holes to fill for almost everybody.

Baytown Lee's Coaches Discuss Going to 4A
liltex replied to bh89-2's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Throw away all the reasoning, theories, mathematical reasons 14 yrs.playoffs in a row you don't have to be very smart to figure out what the Bronco's staff is doing is beyond explanation therefore I must figure that #15 is on the way. That leaves 3 spots open.Nuff said -

Congrads to JJ and best wishes at the next level.Starting the 2009 football season I though he was the best player in SETX and this award is the icing.
