  1. Nah don't think they want to bring back that buried rivalry, would be a decent test for the JV squad maybe. As for myself I would travel long to see a Sulphur Springs rematch for first scrimmage with a much better defense for the Broncos in 09.
  2. Off the post but the real game should be against Crosby a little deeper team I think.PNG won the Crosby game last year and the cougars knocked off Lumberton.Do not know what happened after but PNG was not bad at times in 08.Change could be good time will tell.
  3. sure nuff and others soon coming.D should be tuff again maybe a little better.Counting the days to first scrimmage.Anybody know who the pre-season teams are?Lumberton would be nice right out of the gate.
  4. Not from the Hill but Barbers Hill won several state championships boys and girls-do not know the coaches or years.Somebody that knows please post.
  5. 1985-Mar 15-place pecker wood point near black forest Sam Rayburn-certified wt.by game warden at Jackson hill marina.Fish caught 9 am-3'water near buck brush-lure bloodline blue w/black core 6" lizard.Did not weight fish till 2 pm-weighed 11lbs.3 1/4 oz.warden asked if I knew what the new lake record was caught a week earlier.I said no sir.He said Ken Cook-b.a.s.s. fisherman caught a 12.12 in Veach Basin.I asked why do you tell me this?Because I est. you have 2 lbs.of eggs in your livewell. The same day I caught my fish Randy Dearman Livingston guide caught 4 bass over 10 lbs.on a spook topwater and said he broke 1 off that would push 16 lbs.I hooked a bigger fish a few years later on the north side of the island out from Cassell Boykin park and had her pinned around a tree top inches below the surface that broke me off as the net came within inches of a catch. She was alot bigger than my 1985 catch.I did manage 20 th place in the 2nd annual McDonalds big bass tourn.w/a 4.56 caught on rattletrap near the deerstand area.A lady from Cleveland,Tx.won it w/a 6.96 that year.See how the fishery has grown since.
  6. Problem I see here is the baitfish and all other species of fish have used the pass as migration routes for many years for their well being.how many will die waiting too late to swim the intracoastal canal to the ship channel in the event of a severe winter. The Anahuac Wildlife Refruge has not been the good fishing spot it once was as tide movement and fish migration have been disrupted by the pass desruction after Ike.In the case of property owners it is my belief that had a storm the size of Ike struck the Crystal beach area 40 years ago the results would have been more destructive as other storms had did their part to move the beachfront property back.Look at the highway from High Island to Sabine Pass that is still rubble.Once a fisherman's heaven with beachfront piers-the pass all are memories of the past when a fisherman could catch and keep some decent numbers of fish.If the fed's do not close the crab season soon for at least 2 yrs.the blue crab will be gone.Rumor has it the locals are trying to persuade the fed's that the beach area well being depends on tourist and fisherman for bussiness and want the corps to build a few fishing piers out into the gulf and possibly another large one out into the bay as a compromize to the pass closing. This seems a plan to suit all involved.
  7. High Island has to be the hard luck team. The place is still a mess after Ike.Tax base has been ripped apart and scattered for miles-recovery has been slow and it seems the election has taken away a speedier fix.
  8. repeating info from a bronco lineman.if he had it backwards oh well real story here he has excellerated in size and power-a natural speedster already-king's speedy def.backs/saftey could not get close in Sheldon last year as he ran away and left them.
  9. Coach Stewart has some talent moved into differant positions from last year. Some of the young talent are looking impressive thus far.Last years rookie sensation a soph.Delasbour looks like he will do great things as he has grown alot.Told by a reliable source he has past 6' and 200 lbs.benching 450 lbs. With speed, size looks like Dayton's spare parts put together w/Stewart's guidance a new machine is on the horizon in bronco land as another strong armed kid moved from catching to throwing moves in for Cody's former spot.I have to go w/Dayton-Crosby-the last 2 spots we will see how it plays out.
  10. Plus a class polite young man to boot.
  11. Every head coach was some type of other coach earlier on in their career.Change was made was it good or bad we will see but folks thought new direction was needed.I feel good that things will improve for the Tribe.
  12. Congradulations again JAGS.
  13. Vidor-Nederland-Lumberton-PNG
  14. Great pick.Wish the best for one of my old coaches Riley Burnett in his retirement.
  15. Let the Pow-Wow begin-The Transition of Tradition almost complete.Hope to see you guys back in the playoffs very soon.
  16. Good luck Scooter, hope you and yours safe keeping.I know nothing about these things but my brother lives in Kennewick,Washington and when Mt.Saint Helen erupted they had 3 in.of ash in their yard.now the ground is real fertile there.
  17. Got home from the Bronco meet the poster dinner that was filled w/stories past and future and I loaded my Toups Graphics cd of the SS/Dayton game to rewatch a closer view of the game and from this new view there was several plays that the Broncos were ever so close to converting them into points and on 3 SS passes from Rollinson were only inches from an interception and a long run w/a head start towards the endzone. This tape is a must have collector. Thanks Toups.
  18. Where at in Liberty?Same time?
  19. This kind of stuff has happened many times w/some cross town rivals even painting on schools along w/burning bonfires early.Even a worse deal to do this on art.turf.It will come out as to who the culprit was.
  20. What's up SETX posters?Nobody posting but Bronco faithful.I'm w/Toups if nobody can confirm let's do Chili's-Liberty.
  21. Ok where did all of you meet the poster setx folks go?Is this meeting still on?Mr.Toups I want 1 of each dvd's.Going to Bmt.to VA clinic for lab this morn.@ 8:00.Someone let me know later if Silsbee is a go.I live in Moss Hill on 105 and can go either place.
  22. Skipper my dad is 80 now w/some memory loss but awhile back he told me Bum played at Beaumont High and both were on a Lamar football roster. After 1 semester dad transferred to Baylor came home, got married and in 49 I was born and that stopped his football.I will look at his HS scrap book to see what I can find and get back to you.
  23. Didn't Bum Phillips play on that team?My dad said he was a stud lineman from Beaumont-Bum got Lamar to sign my dad a rb from Liberty,Tx.
  24. Hope lessons learned from this.As for parents providing alcohol at private parties I have no problem with it when supervised correctly.I think it is ridulous that a 18 yr.old can die on the battlefield-uncle sam sending beer/cigarettes into the battlefield but cannot legally buy them stateside.A 17 yr.old died in Vietnam. His parent signed a minor release to get him in.In past years alot of HS students frequently drove over to The Texas Pelican & Corral Club in Starks,La.to party a much dangerous situation.
  25. Great news-wish him well w/the tigers.
