Currently underway w/numerous air boats,horsemen/cowboys evacuating 500 head cattle from rising trinity river floodwaters.This is the highest recorded flood,and tireless days of preparations (incl building a dirt levee around the last available cattle pasture on a high spot,levee failed,so evacuation forced moving the est 1million $ cattle to CNC rail yard on hiway 146.Looking@ videos cattle quite tired of swimming in current.Once they reach hiway 90(soon now)they will shut down highway 90 between Lib/Dayt,drive the cattle to FM 1409 near Brookshire Bros then down to Brown Road to highway 146 south.Expect numerous roads closed to traffic for next several hours.This is historic for friends/family/volunteers pulling together under extreme/dangerous conditions.The sm young baby calves had to be rescued first yesterday as they can't/don't know to swim.Some may say/ask why they waited=answer the last pasture had NEVER had water on it.Folks don't stop to think every river in Tx is flooding sending flood waters into the bays which dump into the Gulf.Now when high tides come in the flooding water upstream can't flow=backing water up.Upstream lakes are flooding but holding water as much as possible being above normal pool.Just in the Trinity River basin TX has 12 major lakes,all above normal pool.The 12 lakes combine for 197,000 surface acres of water not incl.subdivision/man made private lakes/ponds.Prayers to all volunteers during this time,incl law enforcement,others
