Anything can happen in high school football but for Friendswood to be in the game w/Lake Travis for 4 Qtrs.would be only if Garrett Gilbert were to have to leave the game early for some reason or be ill game day.The mustangs will need to sustain long clock eating drives and cause some mistakes by Lake Travis.Lake Travis by 14 @halftime-by 30 in the end.

Not having been there I will say this The Central Jags outperformed what the pollsters-sportswriters had them picked to finish and that is enough consulation for a 1 point loss to Friendswood.They outplayed above mosts expectations some great football and can hold their head high and say they were very good this year.Congradulations to Friendswood in their hard fought victory.

Broncos have nothing left to prove.If you are not convinced by now they can win then just stay home and listen.While alot of teams struggle to 1 point wins and constant back n forth scoring,Dayton keeps beating everybody by 14+ points while backing off late in the games.Did you notice after halftime the Cubs came out w/heads down and no will to continue.Every team's strategy in these playoff's has been to kick short away from A.J and dbl.team him.We need more pressure on punters so they do not run around to punt allowing players to get downfield.I see Dayton winning this game by 10,the closest anybody has came.Few Trick plays perhaps w/A.J throwing.I believe the better teams left will kick deep as to not give up good field position.

Great dominating game by the Broncos.Game was not that close.Dayton iced it with a long run by Cameron La Cour.Cody proved last night he can perform under pressure and we saw alot of smiles and high fives from Nebraska scouts near us.The last 1/2 of the 4th quarter Dayton conceded not to run it up by substituting other players and Brenham(out of the game scoring wise)Took advantage,scored then kicked a onside kick w/5 sec.left.I do not know what Stewart had to say after the handshaking but I am sure he probably said a few words about it.All the trash talking that Brenham did all night should have made for a quiet bus ride home.Playoff time do not stop scoring.Lake Travis and others do not stop.Chron.com must have been mixed up on games as they had Dayton w/15- 1st downs & Brenham w/18.Anyway congadulation's to the Broncos and their 2nd.back to back semi-finals game.

I just get amazed how these sportswriters make their predictions way ahead of time.Teams they picked in the semi's and finals= 2 of their top teams are out.In rd.#1 & rd.#2 they missed alot of picks in div.2 regions.It has been a year of upsets so far as their picks.Jake Shaw has Dayton in a close game by 8 because of Terry's size then goes on to compliment the Broncos as being the fastest team left but undersized.When have we been big up front?Livingston was alot bigger upfront this year.I rest my case.Large has it's disadvantage in my opinion in that fast get's a seam who's gonna catch them.Shaw way off this pick.Dayton by a Large margin,only seen Dayton on film.

Sure they will.Lot's of great teams have come and gone and others will follow.Let me just point out last years Dayton team.Early we lose Cody Green(qb) to a leg injury for the year.Try A.J.Dugat for a game at qb-we lose 8-7 to lumberton.Up pops a QB who was not experienced w/Dayton's style of offense(New Orleans Katrina transfer)And he was magnificent in leading the Broncos to the state semi-finals against Austin Lake Travis.Gregory Charles threw for 1,800+ yds.and 22 or so td's w/4 pics.Amazing things happen sometimes when you think it will not.Good luck and find that magic again as you have certainly had some fantastic teams over there.

PNG football has been fantastic many years.Many attendance records shattered and made.Riley Burnett coached me at Dayton in the 60"s and he was a good coach.The game in 1998 at Lamar U.is still one of my favorite games ever to watch.The purple exchanging td for td and both sides support was outstanding all night.You'll be great again,the pride and spirit is astonishing,wish some would rub off on some Bronco fans.We've had our times of mediocre teams,great talent,poor coaching years.Passing teams usually beat us.Now we have a great coach,talent,speed and our 3 best seasons were with good QB'S.Hoping the best for a great school w/the best fan support I have ever witnessed for high school football-PNG INDIANS the tradition in transition.

I have been laid back reading all the posts on this topic and in (my opinion)I would if I were Credeur try to land the HC/AD job at the brand new 5th Humble ISD high school in Atascosita named Summer Creek.Start his own tradition from the ground up w/Great facilities,and I am sure the Money is what the determining factor would be.

If I were MB I would Try to land the HC/AD job at the new 5th Humble I.S.D.high school named Summer Creek in Atascosita and start a new tradition from the ground up.The ads just went out for the brand new school.I am sure the pay is considerably larger.The man deserved better than what was offered on the table.Then if Humble made him an offer,I would send the board a doz.black roses and a dear john letter saying I have found another love and leaving you to fend for yourselves and taking my staff w/me.

As a parent do you teach your children how to pitch.If they have no clue how can they be coached when the time is now.I had some kids and would pitch easy to them and they would run from it when I coached many years.Parents then want to get on your case for not starting them.I would tell the parent you have neglected your kid about fundementals.Good kid-Your fault.I do not even know if the 2 Gilbert's are related,both live in the area.I was making a point about teaching.Archie Manning did rather well at it and they put on alot of training camps for QB's.Garret is the best I have seen,but like T.Bradshaw you gotta have some great recievers too.

Starting them out young w/great Qb's teaching them.Chris Gilbert led Texas to a win over Ole Miss in the late 60's against Qb Archie Manning in the Hoston Bluebonnet Bowl-Boomer Aiasion(mispelled)taught his son a UT qb also.Garrett Gilbert is good because hours & hours were spent w/him growing up.It is the parents responsibility to teach fundementals-The coach to futher develop them.I like Lake Travis by 20.

That is funny.Talent has always been there,talent developers mediocre.Players playing out of position etc.I thought Dayton's talent pool and positions and game plans came straight from the local drug store coffee shop.Our 7-8 grade track team(early 60's)could outrun the varsity team in every event.Dayton was down for some years.WE'RE BACK,town click won't bug Stewart that is for sure.Most have passed and Dayton is growing.If you had athletic kids-but lived outside Dayton-Would you move a few miles to a well coached atheletic program?That has happened often-Permian-Barbers Hill-PNG-Ned-WOS-Newton-on & on large companies offering big incentives to employees w/talented atheletes to move to their town.The real deal in some cases TALENT got moved to successful schools with great tradition of winning.By the way,where did Dayton find this band director.Last week's performance was horrible but funny-drag the twirlers by their feet as they cling to their undergarments.

I agree but in my opinion(former bronco 65-66) Dayton was (Never) a serious threat to pass in their history until Stewart changed it.S.Pearson was a pretty good hard-headed Qb(coached him in pony league)In the playoff game against C.E.King And Pete Archie,Simone was suppossed to punt on 4th down,took it on his own and ran only to be tackled short of the 1st.down-turnover cost Dayton the game in the last minutes.Good but not great.Dakkarri was great,exciting to watch,quick and alot more.Saw all of his games as a senior.But that was 1 fantastic year wasn't it.Gregory Charles(Katrina student transfer) last yr.was a great 1 yr.QB and helped lead Dayton to it's longest playoff run.For his career(minus 13 games-2007)Nobody that I know of put up the stats of Cody Green a smart student that can read defenses.He leads this team w/a defense not quite as good as the 1998 & 2007 team had.Not a very good kicking team and Cody tries his best,but no Carranco.What could have been the numbers this year?Nearly every game Dayton has shut down their machine w/ 1/2 of the 4th quarter left to play.Last year was great(had G.Charles rushed more)who knows what they could have done.Bronco football has been great w/Stewart.Fans follow them well-still a little quiet(my opinion)for what they have done.Fan spirit is time for a big change now.A yell here and there-everybody open your mouth and say something in support of a growing/winning tradition DAYTON BRONCOS.

Purple with pads I hope?Just kidding.Great posts.Like I stated on another post,we have not seen the Broncos have to score any more points in the 4th than needed although they certainly could have had over 50 points in alot of games this year.1998 & 2007 bronco defenses were a bit more talented than the present but they have PLAYED outstanding considering.The talent keeps coming and Stewart just has a great knack for developing them.I believe he took Cleburne to the playoffs many years also.

Dayton has NOT put up all the Points it could have against 4 good playoff teams they played-Crosby-C.E King-Livingston-Elgin-They substituted and ran down the clock w/the football and driving.I think the 1st.quarter will be Terry's best if there is a best.Broncos speed and talent they have not played.Back in the ole days the Houston radio stations had a high school football broadcast called"Rusty Stomp Of The Week Award.Great weather game day it may be one of those.I believe that all 4 teams above could have beaten Terry.With that and their schedule,stats,fumbles etc.you be the judge.As for myself Dayton by 36.

Ignorant is not a word you would not want to use on this site against someone's opinion.Mistaken is a better word to use.Reguardless both C.Daniels and G.Harrell set all time records in High School.You are mistaken.Same said for Heisman QB's From UH-Andre Ware & David Klinlinger-What did they do at the next level.Cody Green is a SCHOLAR ATHELETE(he is smart).Been some great little qb's in the NFL-Fran Tarkenton.Little RB from last yrs.state champion-Lamar Cons.5'7" 180lbs.a true freshman playing at Oregon State leads the PAC TEN in rushing this year.Back on the subject of IF'S-Cody missed all of last season-What if he had all 3 years totals?Smart goes a long way into developing great QB'S at the next level.

Terry's team stats are against teams with a yearly record of 36 Wins-40 Losses.Mayde Creek 5-5 -Channelview 0-8 -El Campo 8-2 -Bay City 3-5 -Lamar Cons.6-3 -Foster 3-7 Texas City 5-5 -Sharpstown 6-5 .On the offense over their 8 games they Fumbled 29 times-losing 13 of those.Scored 143 points-allowed 102 pts.=17.9 ppg to 12.6 ppg allowed.You be the judge how good their defense really is by the schedule they played.And Dayton beat Bay City 35-7 not 21-7 as it was STEWART'S 100th Win at Dayton.
