The world is full of if's.Cody has a 65% completion record w/less talented recievers this year than last years group.If he had been a Houston/Beaumont area QB he would have many articles in the local big newspapers.Apples to apples he still has put up numbers that say He Is The Best.Magazine writers touted him as a top prospect as a soph.in 2006.He threw for over 1,400 yds.w/21 td.passes that year.Dayton's 3 most successful playoff years were all w/good passing qb's.Pearson-Charles- Green period.In 1961 Donald Sprayberry the qb had led the Broncos to their previous long playoff run.

The only other D1 recruit/QB was Dakkarri Pearson who played defensive back at UT.Had to quickly throw this before somebody else did.He certainly had a great career at Dayton-but more of a run threat.

You are watching Cody Green right now.Gregory Charles was another great qb for 1 season(last year).There has been very few Broncos ever to be recruited by a D1 college or ever been on the top 100 recruit list-Cody is in the top 35.Savor the moment and come out and watch him as he is playing his last games as a Dayton Bronco.We have had some real good RB'S but never was a pass threat that I can remember of any magnitude like the last two years-Hence our deep run to the semi's last year and our current path now.History was made last year-This year may be the Best ever.

Well this year has certainly made the pollsters and sportswriters for Dave Campbell scratch their heads.Some of their favorites in Div.2-Wf Rider-CC Calallen-Edcouch Elsa have fallen out of it.Others favorites won but not big.Dayton still up there in the thick of it and has not let them down on their picks.This week has some other key match-ups Kerr.Tivy/Beeville-Everman/Big Spring two other picks to the finals in Div.2 class 4A.Central has surprized some folks as well in 4A Div.1 and has a possible deep run into the playoffs and play Angleton this week,a team that beat Friendswood.

Last 9 games allowed on defense-0-30-14-13-7-7-0-28-14 =113 tot.points=11.4 points per game.Is this year's Bronco team as good as last years?In my opinion I say Yes based on offense stats and a dual threat QB that will tuck it and run, a advantage that was not there last year.Defensive team may have been a little better but w/more experienced players last year.Losing 5 starters before game #1 this year showed results in the first few games,but the younger players have stepped it up week by week.Broncos Believe they can win reguardless and I think that will carry them.16 teams left-8 after this week.Notice the much improved kicking game last week?No missed PATS.How would you think Dayton would do to switch Cody and A.J a few downs,send Cody in motion-fake the handoff-let A.J have those huge holes they give Cody?

In the 11 games the Dayton Broncos have played, the team has scored 26 passing tds.and 33 rushing tds=59 total to date.In the last 9 games Dayton has put up-49-48-49-46-40-46-41-39(Liv)42(Elgin).This weekend the Broncos take on in rd.#3 Rosenberg Terry sat.night in the Woodlands.Terry has been said to have a good defense(time will tell)but on the Offense side, thru their 8 tot.games they have scored 3 tds.passing and 17 tds.rushing=20 tot.tds.That came from Chron.Com stats.Some have posted the Broncos do not respect their opponent by posting Predictions of large to small scores.NOT TRUE.Dayton has called off the stampede in many games with 1/2 of the 4th quarter left to play over the last 9 games. Dayton knocked at the door last year and are the last remaining S.E Texas 4A div.2 to have a shot at the title.Broncos will score their points-WHO can match them point for point ?

Some of the older citizens would say for years E.B. White (deceased)former RB @ Dayton was a stud.Then Glen Pruitt (current judge)living was also a hoss.Blackie Graves was certainly a well known figure in Dayton and it's growth.

I respect Terry,just think they cannot slow down the Broncos.Since the early loss we had to Friendswood,tell me 1 team that has stopped Dayton from 40 points?OK-Livingston did with KIND gestures from Stewart to kill the clock inside the 40 w/3+ min.left and all the momentum.Last week over 6 min.call off the stampede as well as about 5 other games Dayton substituted or killed the clock.Clock killing time is past,show us the real deal this game all 4 full wide open Quarters and if you're so bad kick it deep to A.J. some instead of 25-30 yd.out of bounds kickoff's.You SCARED?That should get some hits out there in cyberspace.

Dayton came out early for warm-ups and was sluggish again early as if the were to pumped up and not relaxed,forcing plays.The young defense did a lot better job than last week holding Elgin to 7 first downs and(3)of those were penalty 1st.downs.The broncos came out after halftime and took control on both offense and defense.The wildcats had Nothing working as the DEFENSE smothered them play after play.Congradulations Broncos.
