  1. Congrats to all the Southeast Texas players signing and going on to the next level! Good luck and from a parent's perspective - be gracious for getting to chance to go to college AND play football - there are many, many players that don't get the opporturnity. Work hard in the classroom as well as on the field and keep your nose clean! You are one of the chosen few - Act like it! In the next couple of years we here in Southeast Texas hope to hear good things about you! i
  2. I think BC had a good first day......................mine stumbled thru the door after the first Coach Landry practice! ;D
  3. I am so sorry to hear of this terrible tragedy. Prayers from Bridge City for Joel's family and the others that were injured.
  4. Prayers continue from this Bridge City family for you Bud and for your family.
  5. Prayers from Bridge City for this young man and his family.
  6. i love the faith you have in our team... we had a HORRIBLE offensive night... the defense can make the tackles needed, they showed that in the 2nd half... they did the SAME thing during the Kountze game. only difference is that the offense couldn't get going during silsbee... but think what yall want. i will continue to have my faith and believe that BC can win and compete with any team on the schedule. I think I said the defense played decent, it's the bright spot the Cards have right now, and it has nothing to do with faith, it is facing reality. Offense had a horrible game against and didn't look too great against HJ. Just the facts, and like I said, they need something cause it ain't working. I just hate to see the guys that are busting their rears time and time again, and then can put no points on the board.
  7. As much as I wish I could think the Cards would upset the Mustangs, I don't see it happening. BC's defense played decent against Silsbee, but when they hit somebody, they have to wrap them up and bring them down. Offensively, they need a major overhaul and a miracle. Just isn't working so I think with Coach Hooks and the athletes that make up the Stangs, it's gonna be a long night in West Orange for the Cards.
  8. We are off of 408 on Garrison Drive in BC. Have a foot of water in our house, roads are flooded and water is still rising. Water came up fast and never would have dreamed it would flood here. Stuff is floating down our road from God knows where! This is horrible.
  9. No kidding.............we really do have boat at back door! It doesn't sound too good for BC at this time. Is there anyone who also stayed in BC on the website? Please post what it looks like if you are on here!
  10. I hear ya! We are out of city limits so should be okay, but just in case, have the boat tied to the fence post outside the back door!
  11. Wind is kicking up pretty good here in Bridge City. Any news of Sabine Pass and Port Arthur yet?
  12. We're staying..............we are between BC and Orangefield so I think we are high enough............Am doing lots of praying at this point. Everyone that chose to stay, stay safe and hunker down!
  13. And, good job Matt and company, you guys looked great last night. I think if anyone has watched this team play, they play together as a team and it shows. You guys are fun to watch (all of you) and if you stay together, play together, work hard together, you will be the team to be reckoned with in Bridge City's near future! Proud of you Freshmen Cards!
  14. So now varsity has ANOTHER wr..............out of 48, I think 30 or more of them are wide receivers, most of whom never take the field. I think that's a strange move, but I am not the coach, maybe there is a good reason for this.

  16. if the ball doesn't cross the plain then it doesn't count... but it sure as heck looked like he was across an everthing... dont understand the ref's call on that, he caught it and then was hit back across the plain to the field... (the way im understanding what the ref said) so whatever, thats the past, cant change it now... BC had many chances in the first half to score and didn't, cant blame the loss on this... No, not blaming the loss on this one call. I just did not know the correct ruling on that play. I thought as long as he caught the ball in the end zone and had possession before he was tackled that it would have been good. It was just a strange ruling and I wanted to get it right from someone who knows for sure that call. Thanks!
  17. I have a question on the 2 point conversion call for Bridge City. Receiver catches the pass, both feet planted in the end zone, then is hit by defender from behind and tackled back toward the field. Ref says no score. When asked by the player, the ref says, your feet were in the end zone when you caught the pass, but the ball did not cross the plane (sp) so therefore you do not make the two point conversion. Is that the right call?

  19. Congrats Cardinals! Way to start the season! Keep on rollin'.
  20. The defense has greatly improved, not sure if it was coaches getting right people in certain positions or what, but they look good. Look for them to make things happen. The offense................something is going to have to happen or they are in for a very long season. Hopefully the coaches will have some brilliant ideas on improving before they get to district.
  21. And that is why Dan Hooks and the Mustangs are so successful year in and year out. Area teams would be alot better off if that were the case in each school in the district, but sadly it is not.
  22. BC's defense has certainly improved from last year. But offense needed to improve that much or more to be able to compete in this district and don't see that.
  23. I have to say I agree with you. This is the second year to try to run the spread and it ain't working! I love to watch teams that can execute that type of offense, but BC doesn't have the right athletes to run it, plain and simple.
  24. I haven't heard that it was moved there. I sure hope not!
  25. I was told the scrimmage between these two had been moved to Friday. Can anyone confirm whether it's Thursday or Friday?
