Anyone have news of the Bridge City/Lumberton scrimmage going on this morning?

That doesn't look bad.

Without sounding ignorant, this kid gets caught selling and administering steroids, but can someone tell me what about the one's he was selling to and giving injections to...................did they get any type of punishment also or was the blind eye turned on them? Just curious, because it all seems to be about the kid that was selling it.............but somebody had to be buying it and should have to answer to that also, or I would think. Just funny that nothing has been mentioned about those kids. And just for the record, I as a parent would spend my last dollar to have my kids tested if there was any indication at all that they were doing something like this. First and foremost, my kids health and wellbeing would be my concern, and if they need that stuff to perform, they don't deserve to be on any team.

I liked the Cardinal...................but like earlier said, if this will change the way things went last year, these guys need it!

I whole heartedly agree. Try explaining that logic to a 16 or 17 year old who dreams of a scholorship and works hard to get it, then see one who gets busted for steriods (using and selling I assume) and cannot play their senior year because of it, but is awarded a chance to play at the next level. I think that is certainly sending the WRONG message out to the hard working honest athletes.

I think the only way to stop this crap is to test every kid that plays varsity sports. That is unreasonable, but I feel like the only answer to stopping kids trying this stuff. And the sad thing is that some parents know what their kids are doing and condone it so Little Johnny can be a star. That is the most sickening thing about it all.

Heard BC would be having intersquad scrimmage............does anyone have any idea what time?

I agree with you Skipper. Everyone is putting BC at the bottom again this season, and I think they are going to surprise alot of people. And this may give these guys even more incentive to go out there and get very physical and win games they aren't supposed to. They have alot of heart and determination and it's hard to keep that down too long. GO BIG RED!

We'll see on Monday! He's not the only one that might be going straight baseball! I guess these guys start making choices at this level..........have heard rumor of the same thing in BC of some just going straight baseball because they feel like their best chance to play at the college level is in baseball and don't want to get hurt playing football. But hopefully if this happens in either school, there are others to fill the shoes!

From what I have heard of him, I believe you are right! I think he will be good for BC...........just may be a major culture shock for some if he doesn't do the political thing, but it's certainly what is needed. I can't wait till next baseball season rolls around for Big Red, I believe it's gonna be exciting!

oh no, the griping hasn't started JUST yet......................the parents are all fighting over who can get to Landry first and tell him how "little Johnny" didn't make the team last year, but was the best player BC has ever seen...........or so and so played this spot, but little Bob played there in T-ball and should have that position! Or maybe they are trying to find where Coach Landry lives so they can groom his yard for him to win brownie points for next season, LOL! Then as the season nears, the griping will begin.

I think after last year's season, they may surprise some this upcoming season. I too think they will contend in every game and hopefully a strong workout program this summer will help alot. If they can get a strong leadership core, they will do well. There are some very good athletes in this group and if the coaches can get them all sorted out to be where they should be, they will be fine.

Maybe things can be turned around as far as how we support our teams and coaches. It's time..........

AMEN!! Haven't we had enough junk going on the last several months! Who cares who got called, got text messages, letters or whatever.........we have a new coach, he is a good one so it's time for BC to step up to the plate and support Coach Landry and welcome him to Cardinal Country.

Congrats Jaden! You will really be missed when the Cardinals hit the field next season! Good luck at McNeese! You are a very classy young man and I know your parents are very proud!
