This is a most interesting question, Coop. I have seen Cayuga from the Little Dribbler Nationals the past two years. Cayuga is a basketball machine that starts in that community at an early age. Infact, Cayuga beat the Spurger Little Dribblers in the championship game last year at Levelland! I see a bit of a 'revenge factor' here on the part of some of the Spurger boys. This is going to be a very good game and a defining one as well. I think that Spurger will step it up and win in a close one by 6. I do not see a blow out by either team and a possible OT game. If #44 bows up like he did last night when his bro #12 was nose-nose with the West Sabine player, we will be fine! Good luck Pirates and play YOUR ball!

Spurger vs. West Sabine Predictions?

Catman, Watching Spurger play these past two games, I say Spurger 20+. -
For those interested: Bremond came out of the gate really fired up and hitting their shots which were mostly three's. In fact, Bremond worked their up to a 12 point lead and the Spurger started the come back. At the half, Bremond lead by 2. Spurger came out of the half really fired up and started hitting alot of shots and working it inside to the Whittaker bros. By the 4th, Spurger was in cruise control and in total control of the game winning by 17. Thus, there was a 29 point swing in this one. Great job guy's and keep up the good work! PS, #10 hit a three pointer at the buzzer of the 3rd qtr to really get everyone fired up. The house was rocking after that one!

SPURGER VS BREMOND PREDICTIONS

Hey Football, For your information, and this is just an observation here, but a football is oblong and has what, 7 or 8 seams, while a basketball is orange, round and no seams. Their last football game is now, what 2 months ago? Ummmmmmm..................... -

The ' unknown'. That my friend makes post season play so cool. The "unknown'' is what wakes us up at night with the sweats and dry mouth. This why I am a bigbasketball fan. Sorry, couldn't resist that! -

Catmam, I think that Spurger may win by more than 10, might be closer to 15+. I checked out their web page and from the photos it looks like they do not have any one that can deal with the two Whitticker brothers. They appear to be on the small side, so one could make a case that they have speed and good outside shooting to make up for size. Afterall, they did win their district. Will be fun to watch. -
Hard one to say which was the best as most were only able to go to gym last night. I was at Kirbyville for the HD/Zavalla & Spurger/Broaddus games. I thought that Kirbyville did an outstanding job. The stands were pretty well packed and everyone seemed pleased with the venue. Good job Kirbyville and thanks for hosting these games.

Good job HD. Zavalla just did not have the same speed and athletic ability to keep up with you guy's. Good luck against Slocum! -
What an awesome effort and game! I was impressed by the way the team kept their heads and played their game. I do not know how many points, or more importantly, rebounds Phillip had, but he totally controlled the paint. Showed his maturity and strength last night gentlemen. Now, I did a search for The Woodlands and need assistance getting to the correct gym. This is the Woodlands High school on Research Forest Drive, right? Looking forward to Friday night. Will be another barn burner! Good luck Pirates!

Coop, These two games might be worth the trip to Kirbyville and put on the air/net. Hope to see you there. -

Catmam, Mr Reality is probably teaching that young red how to blow that whistle instead of sucking it! Maybe he will be good entertainment in Kirbyville Tuesday evening! -
Luke, do not get me wrong, I (Hans Solo) think that Spurger will show up, and in a big way. Maybe there will a caravan following the bus to Kirbyville. I see visions of the Hoosiers movie here. Does anyone know yet where the ref's will come from? Over and out.......................
