Heard that Brandon Feagan, a pg from Fort Bend Austin enrolled at Yates this week.......the home town boys may have to transfer out to play....

I can understand wanting to build a football program, but not at the expense of the basketball program. I wish the guy well. If they have a losing season it really wont be his fault.........

Heard that they hired one of their assistant  football coaches (no varsity experience)for the head basketball job................HJ might have to knock someone else out next year... ;D

Heard today that Goree Allen a 6'2" sg checked out of Wheatly into Yates. He joins Tre Bennett, Milbys leading score who recently transfered to Yates.....academics must be really great over there.....

Yates and Bush could Probally beat them but thats as far as it goes.....

I can respectfully claim last place. It's not whether you win or lose, its how you play the game....Right?.....I feel like I have just been run over by Yates... ;D

Guard play hurt the horns this year.....turn overs and free throws hurt them. Also they need a true big. Pitman is big but just not aggressive enough....

A player gets fouled(not a good free throw shooter) and another goes to the line and shoots the free throw. Works best when everybody goes to the opposite end to shoot the free throw. Usually no one notices... Happens a lot........Right or Wrong?.....Ethical or not?.....

Watching Silsbee play at the state tourney, it seamed that guard play was a little weak to win a championship....was hoping they could pull it off.........what does Silsbee have coming up in the guard position?

Just out of couriosity, I did notice Madison had a couple players that were not there last year. Were they both move ins or home grown?

[/quote]What I mean by match ups is I believe Idalou plays a lot better in an uptempo game. They beat NW in every part of the game. Ponder made them play Ponders game.....If Ponder would have pressed and played uptempo Idalou would have beaten them.

Madison looked very beatable. Both Madison and Silsbee had a bad game....guard play on both teams was not good, way too many turnovers....Lubbocks guard play beat Madison.

Ponder controlled the tempo and took only high percentage shots....Ponder also hit a very high percentage of their shots and free throws.......Didn't they hit their first five three attempts?....after watching Idalou beat NW I didn't think Ponder could hang with them but Ponder is Ponder.
