Joe is the most popular president ever. He even blowed the doors off of Obama in popularity!

There’s a big element of people out there that is void of a conscience with no regard of human life. -

Also an interesting tidbit about his first year at Jasper, he cut a 6’10” and a 6’ 7” along with a few others, took what was left and won the district. Not saying he’s the best but definitely needs to be in the discussion. -

Good point on athletes but you have to continually develop those guys and maintain a level of success. Which he has done. -

You got to mention Clay Davis in the discussion. 20+ wins in last 5-6 seasons at HJ. Won at Jasper and Tatum. -

Gonelsons, we need a pep talk. Lol -
HJ is always tough. A lot of eyes will likely be on Huffman. Lost their scoring stud but return everyone else if I remember right.

What does OC mean? I probably should know but I’m getting forgetful. Lol

WOS Looking for a New Coach

Coaching stability is a key ingredient for success in any sport. A good coach that will stay can build a good program in most cases. -
Bush was the motor. Probably my most favorite high school player to watch. Other than my home team. Lol
-
Think this Silsbee group has the potential be as good as the Adams, McCain, Bush teams?
-
Hopefully they can get past Apple Grove this year.

Keep your eyes on Timpson. Should have a very good year.

Yep. But was an emotional wreck. Felt sorry for him. Took it hard. He was a stud. Lay the ball in and you win by five.

Ron Jackson was a good coach. Had some tough breaks along the way. He had a Grapeland team in Austin one year. Playing Wellington and was up three with less than ten seconds left. Grapeland player steals the ball and does a 360 dunk attempt . Ball hits back of the rim and a Wellington player scoops it up and slings a half court shot and banks it in at the buzzer. Grapeland lost in OT

Maybe that explains the smell of sulfur on them. Lol

Yep. Never said thanks for the ride. Just got out.

That have happened to you in the past that make you wonder. Here’s mine. I still think about this often enough. I’m not saying I’m just saying. When I was 17 I had a 1968 Firebird(just told my age). It was late one night, about midnight if I remember correctly and I was headed home(Huntington). It was misting rain and about 40 degrees. A few street lights were on and no traffic because of the late hour. As I got to the top of the hill going out of Huntington I saw a couple walking and the lady was carrying something. I guess my raising kicked in so I reluctantly turned around and stopped, hoping they lived near and I could give them a quick lift out of the weather. To my surprise the lady was holding a baby. So I asked them where they were headed. The man said Jasper…not what I wanted to hear… I told them I could carry them to Zavalla and maybe they could catch a ride from there. They got in the back set of the firebird which was cramped. When I would try to converse the man was very short. The woman and baby never made a sound. When I got to Zavalla the rain had picked up and I just couldn’t put them out, so to Jasper it was. Finally got to Jasper and I would have to keep asking the man for directions. So we went through Jasper and turned off onto and old road. About a mile the man said this is the place…no house, car or anything, just a pine sapling thicket. Neither the woman nor the baby still hasn’t made a sound. So I said are you sure, I can carry you a little farther? He said no this is the place. So they got out. I drove about a hundred yards and turned around headed back. And they were gone. No sign of them. It didn’t make sense then and it still doesn’t today.

The 5-3 Huntington/Woodville game was the strangest game I’ve ever seen. A big mixed bag of reactions during and after the game. A shot clock would have changed that one for sure. Lol

Hand comes to mind. Lol

Not a fan of HS shot clock especially in lower classifications. I could understand it somewhat in 5A and 6A.
